Made around 1977, in japan, has 20 frets, solid light maple top and light colored maple fingerboard with mother of pearl inlays in about every other fret, gold keys with stars on the backs of the keys, also mother of pearl inlays around the body front back and sides, and around the sound hole. beautiful 3 piece back made with light tiger maple and a 3 inch strip of mahogony running down the center of the back BEAUTIFUL guitar! plays great and sounds BETTER than the D28 martin. any info about the penco A-14 JD like what it is worth, would be apreciated, i just picked it up at a yard sale ,and it is one of the best sounding and comfortable guitars i have played, i am 41 and have been playing since i was 10, and this is one of the best. reply to randyb@charter.net.....thank you. p.s let me know if u would like pictures of it. penco guitars, philadelphia music company, inc. limerick PA. 19468 model# A-14 JD THANK YOU.

the guitar is set up perfect. there is just afew laquer cracks on the body from age, slight wear from use just around the rim of the sound hole, but the pickguard has hardly no scratches at all. i am really impressed with the neck the light maple fingerboard with the mother of pearl inlays, really stands out and the neck is straight as a board, outstanding.
