Best way to describe this guitar is that it is an exact replica of a late 70's Guild D-55. It features a solid spruce top, book matched rosewood back with double binding down the center, and Rosewood Sides. The neck appears to be rosewood or ebony with square mother-of-pearl blocked fret markers with abolone triangle centers. There is double binding up the entire neck on both sides, double binding up the entire fingerboard and an abolone guild logo on the center of the headstock but with a "penco" label. Beautiful natural finish with triple binding around the sound hole. The Headstock has golden grover tuners.

The sound is amazing. Rich lows and crisp highs with just enough mid section in between. This guitar is nearly 25 years old I can honestly say the sound has gotten better each year as the wood has aged and set. In my opionion sounds much better than an actual Guild D-55, Gibson, or any Martin I have played.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
No Opinion
The action is perfect on this guitar for 10's or 11's and it plays surprisingly fast for an acoustic. I have never had a fret buzz, needed to get anything fixed and never had the frets dressed. The finish on this guitar is nearly perfect. It has very tight grain that you can follow from end to end without breaks. Bookmatched back is perfect.

I have taken this guitar all over the country, won championships with it, played in 20 degree weather, stored it for miles under a tour bus, and banged it into a wall a couple of times and it has held up great. It stays in tune very well and I have never had to replace the tuners or anything on it for that matter. Very Solid.

Didn't even know the history on this guitar until a couple of years ago while researching it on the net. I've Owned it for 11 years now and never had a problem. They simply don't make guitars like this anymore for under $1500.
