This guitar sounds like a Martin OO-whatever with a new set of strings...full bottom, detailed high-end sparkle, mids are warm... I must get this one repaired... I've written more than 300 songs with it, it's so much a part of me, you know "that guitar" that you have that's more of a friend than an instrument.

I bought this 20 years ago, used, and it had some issues... the tuners were ok at best, but I never changed them... it needed the nut and bridge saddle filed down, then it was like an old friend, just so comfortable in my lap and in my hands.

After 20 years, it had stood up well, except that I left it on the stand near the front door last summer, and it bellyed out in the heat and humidity, and is now unplayable. I was heartbroken, and still am. I only hope I can have it repaired. Beyond my own stupidity, it was very tough, yet very sweet. I also installed different pickups and preamps over the years, and the old girl bears the scars of my trangressions against her... and sounded better the older she got.

I have watched Penco's increase in value on Ebay over the past year to the point that they have nearly doubled on average. That is because they are worth it. they are far and away the best guitars I've found for the money, and I've had many, many guitars.
