Features : 7
This is one of those '70's Lawsiut-era guitars. It's a Stratocaster, with the traditional Stratocaster comforts, a 2-peice maple neck, 3 pickups, 2 tones and 1 volume, a 3 way selector (showing the instrument's age). The Wide CBS-era shaped headstock. Cheap covered tuners comparable to what are on current Squiers. A Fender tremolo. the recessed input. You can tell what the features are by looking at it a mile away it's your run-of the mill strat copy. The only differences are the Penco name, the black knobs, which look JUST LIKE those that are on the 2 Lawsiut Les Pauls I've owned. And the bridge saddles which aren't the bent over formed metal, but solid. The finish is chipped through to the wood here and there, and it seems like it was once White at one time. The wood is a dark shade, it's much darker than the Basswood or plywood used at this time. It seems to way and feel the same as most strats I've played. I gave the rating a 7, because it's nothing new or different. but it serves its purpose.

Sound : 8
I play alot of different styles. Rock, Metal, Punk, Alternative, Blues. I use it with a vintage Kay, a recent Epiphone and an '80s Fender amp. It's tones are like your run of the mill Strat, just a bit quieter. which suprised me, since this guitar screamed the word "JUNKER" when it caught my eye. The bridge and middle sound pretty average for a cheap strat, just as I said quieter, there's a sheet of metal shielding under the pickguard that is as big as the pickguard itself. The Neck pickup is much brighter than the other two, or any other strat I've played. I like it. It does a bit more than I expected and I enjoy the brightness, since my main guitar is a Rickenbacker. I gave the sound an 8, because although it's like alot of guitars I heard, I enjoyed all of them. And a nice bright trebly neck pickup goes a long way.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
This is a junker guitar. I do my own setups, the finish is chipping off. but the parts are holding up, so that's what's important. gave it a 5, cause it's a junker.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
It's been thru hell, and I'm reviving it with new parts. after I'm done it'll be worthy of a 10. With the exception of the finish, which I wouldn't mind seeing chipped up a bit more. I want it to look a little beat.

Customer Support : No Opinion
the company doesn't exist anymore.

Overall Rating : 9
I own 3 guitars right now, this is the second strat, I'm getting #3 shortly and I've had a total of 14 guitars over time. I am the king of Flea market guitars. I find the coolest junkers and fix them up to be better than new. I love these Japanese lawsuit guitars, because Fender and Gibson parts are exact fits on them, so they're fun to fix up. I am thinking of being evil and turning this into a Fender Stratocaster. Refinish the neck and put a Fender logo on it, a late '60's early '70's neck plate, and correct tuners and tremolo for the era. I already have the right knobs and smaller items put on it. I like having junk because it's something you won't be upset over losing and sometimes you can turn garbage into gold. I'd like to see someone steal this once I fix it up to look like a Fender, they try to sell it and find out... hey... this ain't a read Strat! And the dealer refuses to buy it, so the dumbass is stuck with it. I gave it an 8 because not what it's worth, but it's potential in my hands.
