I bought this guitar off a friend, it was my frist and I paid about 600 for it, now I feel a little ripped off after reading the other reveiws. I like the body type, mine needs to be worked on some though, I did quite a bit of damnage to it so far, large chunks of it are missing, but it is built like a tank, no other guitar I've played could handle being in my hands for more then a day. I don't really like the pickups on it though, not sure what they are but I'm replacing them as soon as I have enough to bring it in, and I'm getting it rewired. Mind you if it was brand new it'd be in much better shape.

Sound : 10
I can use this guitar for pretty much everything with my Cube amp. I go from Punk to Metal to Blues to Funk and even dable in classical, but it does sound a bit muddled to me, I think I might be in need of some new strings but it does have a wide range of sounds and styles to it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I got it second hand, it was painted at one point, not anymore, I got it with a bunch of stickers, but I took them off and broke off the pickguard, I need a new one now, which I'll replace when I bring it in.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's a fucking tank, I've hit people with this damn thing without any affects, to the guitar that is.

Customer Support : 1
What support? I think it's made by the same company that makes drums, can't remember what company that was through...

Overall Rating : 8
I don't own any other gear anymore, I'm lucky to have gotten out of town with this thing in fact, but I'm going to get a much better guitar for heavy metal, not sure what kind yet though.

It looks like a flametop Les Paul with a cherry sunburst finish. The back, sides, neck, and headstock are red.
3-way selector, 4 knobs (2 tone & volume for each of the pickups), nice fat rounded neck.

Sound : 9
I mostly play oldschool rock/punk, and it has a nice rich sound with lots of sustain. Great for rhythm.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar will withstand just about anything. It's heavy enough that dropping it will only damage the floor.
The rear strap button is a little bit loose, which is probably due to the weight of the guitar.

This site is the first time I've ever been able to find any information on this guitar.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 8 years.
This was my first guitar and it's my only guitar.
When I bought it, I knew absolutely nothing about guitars (still don't), but now that I have a little playing experience, I'm happy I chose this one.
My only complaint is the weight. Carrying it around to practise or shows is not fun.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Made in Japan, I assume in the 70's and bears close resemblance to the Grecos, Tokais and high end Ibanezes from the same period. Pretty much a painstaking replica of the real thing with only a few minor differences - plastic block fret markers (as opposed to MOP) and the binding on the neck doesn't form the fret ends like a Gibson. Mahogany body and carved solid top (can't identify wood type as pickup cavities are painted). 22 frets, 2 volume 2 tone, 2 passive humbuckers (Gotoh), set neck construction, tuners don't have any logo but look like gotohs to me and work well, black finish with 7 ply binding on front and back of body, single ply binding up the neck, and 5 ply binding on the open book style headstock. I'm guessing the neck is mahogany, but with the limited grain visible in the truss adjustment cavity it's hard to tell. Split diamond headstock inlay (slightly smaller than the Gibson diamond inlay), tune-o-matic bridge with stop tailpiece. I've never known how to tell what the neck profile of a guitar is, nut this one's really comfy for me, and the frets are very low profile making this thing almost play itself. Don't know if the fretboard is ebony or "ebonised" rosewood, block inlays from 1st fret. Got a hard case with it with greyish velvet interior - don't know if it's original, but looks old enough to be - and it still actually has a key that works!

Sound : 10
I play mainly rock & blues (GNR, Foo Fighters, Led Zep, Black Crowes) so of course this suits me fine. Pickups are very high output, very hard to keep it completely clean, but would make for a great jazz guitar, the neck pickup sound is sweet. I'm playing through an older (early 80's?) Peavey Classic 50W (tranny preamp, tube output), and Boss SD-1 & DS-1 pedals. I don't really use the DS-1 with this guitar much, as it has enough body of it's own with milder overdrive. About 30 years old and doesn't make bad noises when turning knobs and switching pickups whatsoever. Guitar may weigh a ton, but it has tone and sustain by the truckload to make up for it. 3 switch plus tone controls for both pickups gives good variety of sounds from jazzy mellow neck pickup to paint stripping screaming bridge pickup. What kind of sounds can it make? True Les Paul sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Can;t really comment on factory set=up as it's probably around 25-30 years old and I've only had it for a few days (and haven't stopped playing it!). Doesn't make any difference to me how it came out of the factory, I would probably tweak anyway. Action right now is about 1 - 1.5mm at 12th fret on low E with absolutely no buzz. I'm going to raise it as I prefer about 2mm to allow easier bending without catching other strings. Finish is nice, has weathered well and binding has yellowed beautifully and consistently. Neck joint is solid as a rock, everything on this guitar looks original and in perfect working order. Gold hardware has worn down almost completely to nickel pretty much all over (except the tuners, may be repro). As for the finish, if it looks this good now, it must have been fantastic the day it left the factory.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar would not only withstand playing live, it would probably withstand being run over by a truck followed by being thrown off a cliff. Built like a tank. Hardware has lasted this long, and shows no sign of wearing out yet, same for the finish. Strap buttons are good, but as with every other guitar I own, strap locks will be fitted. Did I mention this thing is heavy? I don't care how strong strap buttons are, this thing is like an anchor, strap locks are the only thing I will trust. Seems very dependable, I would use it without a backup any day.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Pfft. Customer support. I can't find anything out about this guitar. Took a chance buying it because no-one had heard of Profile making Les Pauls. Stuffed if I can find the guys who made it. But hey it's old, I don't think I'm going to have any warranty issues, so who cares?

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 17 years, own a 1975 Ibanez SG Custom, 1974 Ibanez 67 style Flying V, 1978 Ibanez Iceman, '82 Ibanez F300CW acoustic, 80's Daion strat, and a 60's disaster-caster. My SG used to be my favourite, closely followed by the Iceman, they now pale in comparison. I would be devastated if this were stolen, and if I were lucky enough to find another one I would definitely replace it, I love pretty much everything about it, the only thing I don't particularly like is the restricted upper fret access which is the same on any Les Paul. But hey, the guitar that has both easy upper fret access and true LP tone does not exist my friend. If you see one of these at a price you can afford, buy it! Better still, tell me about it so I can buy it!
