Sounds as good as any tele I've played or seen. Pups have just been changed out as they were getting a bit old and I wanted a more "blues" grunt sound - but has that magic tele sound

Guitar was well played when I got it, so I've recently done a refret and a setup and now it's perfect

I've been playing 5 years or so and have lots of guitars and this is a favorite. My guitar tech is very particular and he couldn't fault it and recommeded the refret because of the underlying quality of the guitar. It's a simple no frills tele, but has all the mojo of a US model plus some

Not sure of the year, but I guess around mid to late 70's. This is a great Japanese copy of the classic Fender Telecaster. Apart from the logo on the headstock you'd be hard pushed to spot any differences. Solid Alder body, maple neck, 22 frets, old style fender slotted string winders and rounded tuning heads. The finish is excellent and it feels and looks great. Typical pick-up arrangement. Slanted exposed single coil at the back and lipstick style front pick up. Scratch plate is interchangable with the real Fender Telecaster plates without need to move screwholes.

This baby sounds so close to the real Telecaster i can hardly tell them apart. Great twang and presnece on the rear pickup and smooth rounded sounds on the front. Together they prodce a warm even tone with plenty of top end and clear bass. I pump it through a Seymour Duncan 60 watt combo and the sound is clean and crisp. With a distortion unit, the sound is as grungy as you'd like, but without noticable muddiness.

The action is low and fast. The 22 frets are medium width with well countoured edges for fast runs. There is little or no scolloping on 1st fret notes yet unlike many maple necks it is possible to create excellent vibrato by shaking your finger over a note. The neck is bolt on (as with the original tele) and the unit is well balanced. Feels like it belongs in your hands. The paint job is excellent and of very high quality. The neck is maple.

This guitar was originally gigged in a country band for several years and shows no sighs of wear or damage. It feels rock solid and very well built. I play it alot and is one of the few guitars i own that stays perfectly in tune even after a thrashing.

Wouldn't know - I don't even know if Profile is still in business, but they should be.

I've been playing for over 20 years and I own a genuine 1962 Strat, a Gibson les Paul Studio, Gibson 335 and a Cort M600. However, I really like this Profile Tele, it's a dream to paly. If it was stolen or lost I would try very hard to find another one. I tried it against a real Fender tele (mexican made) and found the Profile better set up and it produces a cleaner, sweeter tone than the Fender.
I guess this guitar harps back to the days when the Japanese really know how to copy a guitar. My opinion, it's better than the real thing.
