It was made in the late 80's in Korea by Vantage. The Quest line was a step down/beginner guitar. It is a 22 fret, bolt on neck, strat style guitar, no pickguard, three pickups. As far as I can see from taking it apart, it is made from layers of junk wood: laminate. It has one volume/tone. No-name pickups, configuration: B:HB, M:SC, N:SC. All passive. All junk wood used throughout. Finish is all white, body, back of neck and headstock. It has a Fender style trem bridge, no locking system. Tuners:standard. Neckscale: Fender. I got this in 1988 with a ROSS practice amp, cord and strap.

Sound : 7
It suits my style, rock/metal. I use it with a Peavey amp. I have tons of effects, varies on use. It isn't that noisy although it is easy to get it to feed back. The sound isn't that rich thanks to crap wood used, but it's all right for practicing. It will make basic strat coil, humbucker strat sounds. Likes: will not break, I have thrown it off my roof! No real dislikes. Cheap wood is dislike.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Factory setup was ok. All setup was fine. The headstock finish was pretty sloppy.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Never used it live, hardware is junk, pretty much. Finish still holding up after 15 years of abuse. Never broken anything on it. This is a backup beater. It would never be a main guitar unless I created a new wood body for it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with it. I am the original owner and never had a repair.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
