Apparently from Real Guitars, San Francisco. This is the second Ransom I have owned, yet know very little other than on both some very fine woods have been used, these are obscure custom instruments. This one is a shredder. Birdseye maple neck, ebony fingerboard, alder body, s/s/h pickups, Duncans; Charvel style pointy headstock, Strat clone body in black, black headstock face with 'Ransom' in what looks like Celtic style writing (font), later model Kahler Floyd clone bridge, lacquer finished neck, poly finish body

If I were looking for a shred style guitar, this would likely be a bargain. I hate the maintenance aspects of Floyds, and am more of an all around rocker, if I broke a string on the fly with this it would be done for them set, which would make it not worth the haul. Tone wise all the bases are covered, though more from a Strat school. Goes from SRV neck fat to EVH shred. No need for upgrades, runs quiet. Has toggle which splits Duncan bridge HB.

Very well finished!
Reliability/Durability

Reliable for what it is, though personal preference keeps it from being a main axe, though the novelty of the shred setup makes it cool, would make a good studio guitar.

Obscure maker, custom made, researching on this would be a challenge

These represent a sleeper used guitar. The other Ransom I had was a h/s/h configuration Strat clone, even with a Fender shaped headstock. Binding, flame top, block inlays; thinned the herd and away she went.
