I bought a Raven 2x12 rg100 at guitar center. It has a nice clean channel and the distortion is pretty good too.I like how sensitive the midrange e.q. is on the dirty channel. It scoops the mids to a deathmetal type sound. The distortion is lacking a little gain but it sounds good for a 300 dollar amp.Plus it has an extension speaker out in the back which is rated at 8ohms.I use a 4x12 cab and the amp rocks hard.I also hooked up a metalzone pedal to the clean channel and it sounds evil.Very good tone.I play alot of metal and this thing is worth buying.Since it is solidstate Id use a noise reduction pedal to get rid of all the hum and hiss.

This is a double cutaway Raven Solidbody Electric with one humbucker in the bridge position, and one single coil pickup in the neck position. One tone, two volume controls, three-way pickup-selector switch, three-on-a-side tuners, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 21-fret neck, Strat-style tremolo system, in a blue-burst finish. No acessories included as I bought it used. Don't know where it was made. Most likely Korea or China though. Good features for the money. An eight for features.
Sound

I am using this guitar with a Rogue GS-50R 50-watt Amplifier, that has two channels: Clean and Distortion. The distortion sounds kind of harsh, but that doesn't really matter because I don't use the distortion channel much anyway, as I am a Gospel player. The Clean sounds WONDERFUL! The humbucker sounds rich and full, with lots of bass, and just enough mid with twangy treble. I know this sounds odd, but the humbucker sounds almost Tele like. The middle position, (Both pickups) nails the Strat sound. And I'm not using that term loosely! My only complaint is that the single-coil is kind of noisy, but that can be expected. A nine instead of a ten for sound, because of the harsh distortion and noisy single-coil pickup.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action is perfect, fast-playing neck, and flawless finish. No problems at all in this area.

This guitar would withstand live playing. I know, I've played it live! The hardware is durable, the finish looks very durable, and the strap buttons are solid. It is very dependable, and I would use it on a gig without a backup.

I have been playing for over a year, (I am, however, advanced) and this guitar is a great value for the money. If lost or stolen, I would buy another Raven in a heart beat. They are very high quality instruments. This is comparable to instruments in a much higher price range. I would recommend Raven guitars to anyone, beginning or advanced.

single coil is a bit noisey, humbucker sounds pretty good. All pots and the switch are noise free. Decent sounds for any style, but sounds like import pickups, lots of treble and not much meat.

It's an inexpensive guitar, but very nicely done.

The vendor I bought from was very quick to respond to emails. Very fast shipping too. Came with a 1 year warranty, but who cares I'm swiping the neck and selling the rest anyway.

It's a great lower priced electric. Plays better than the Epiphone "Specials" and is made better.
