Has all the features the other have mentioned! and all work well and are well made, the floyd rose is exellent and stays in tune well.

Sound : 10
The sound is really nice in all 5 positions so no complaints their, also the sounds are nice and bright with no noise at all.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Everybody says what a smashing looking axe it is! it must be up their at the top on looks, and is a perfect wieght with a good balance too! the action is low and the frets are a nice size and finish, it has a thin wizard type neck! the only thing i did was put a few coats of laquar on the neck, because i prefer them nice and shiny.

The fretboard is fairly flat and very fast! again which i like and is really easy to play on.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have had it about 6 months and no problems yet!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used as in UK so hope i never have too!

Overall Rating : 10
For the price i dont think you could get much better, and if lost or stolen would buy another, this guitar really is a pleasure to play and own.

This is a blue/purple quilted top Raven 1000Q, made in korea, 24 fret with shark inlays. It has a H-S-H pickup configuation, G&B pickups (Koreas top of the line), 5 way switch, tone and volume control, Double locking Floyd Rose, Gold hardware, Thin neck, medium-jumbo frets.

Sound : 10
I play a range of music, and this suits most very well, mostly a rock/metal guitar though, I use it with a digitech RP-300 and a peavey Transtube 112. The sound I can get out of this guitar is as good as my Kramer which has a high-end Seymour Duncan in it. Sound wise I am very Impressed with it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was actually set up very well from the factory, Better than the new higher priced Ibanez by far. I will still probably shim the neck some but I do that to all of my electrics to get lower action, although the action is pretty low already. The finish Is just beautiful! Even has a quilted top headstock matching the body!
It just simply plays great!

Reliability/Durability : 8
I will use this guitar live, would use it without a backup but only if I had too. Very good strap buttons, and all of it seems pretty durable.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Been playing 16 yrs, have 7 guitars altogether, If it were stolen, I'd replace it. I am just very Impressed for a guitar this price, I have paid alot more for some of my others. I think this guitar would be worth double what I paid for it.

This is a 2000 Raven 1000Q guitar made in Korea....It has 24 Frets and some nice mean looking shark tooth inlays. Basswood body, quilted top, with rosewood fretboard. I got mine in the Purple/Blue burst. The Flyod rose and other hardware is gold and sets off the Purple burst nicely. It looks like a cross between a Jackson and an Ibanez...Nothing to complain about here.

Sound : 8
The sound from this guitar is quite good....I play hard rock and the bridge humbucker is my main pickup....I sometimes use both the bridge and the middle single coil. I think it is just right for hard rock and metal. Maybe a hotter bridge pickup is in the future for my Raven....

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
This is where the Raven falls....I got my guitar and had to do a complete setup on it (of course I always do that) but with this guitar I had to do some work to get it right...First the frets were horrible, rough and unpolished, the rosewood was very dry...Some 0000 steel wool on the frets and oil on the rosewood fixed this up...Two of the frets were high and my luthier fixed them....The locking nut was also repaired due to a insufficient cut...The action was lowered, the pickups adjusted, the strings changed to Super Slinkys, and the guitar intonated. The neck screws were loose and a few quick twists of a screwdriver fixed this. Once the Floyd Rose was adjusted I had him block it so that it only dives...Does not effect diving, but it is alot easier to tune and change strings. Finish was fantastic, I just love the purple burst. After a few hours at the music shop the guitar is wonderful. However From my experience I wouldn't plan on getting one perfect. I figured that RavenWest gave me a $20.00 discount that I paid to have it setup (Yes my Luthier only charged $20.00 for all the work, and did a great job...Thank you Dale). But for only $289.00 you can't expect a Carvin or a PRS.....The extra money was well worth it and I am not mad at Raven at all...

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Seems to be reliable...I have had it for about 1 month....Can't really say yet.

Customer Support : 10
RavenWest and Eric were great....All Emails were answered promptly without any effort to deceive.....Transaction was very smooth...I would deal with RavenWest again in a heartbeat.

I have been playing constant now for a couple years...I played off and on for the last 20 years (more off than on). I also own two Kramers a Focus and a Baretta, and a Samick Les Paul copy (Hey I like inexpensive guitars). Overall I do love this guitar...The finish is killer and the headstock is mean. Tone is great and the Floyd Rose is a kick in the ass. If you want a fun guitar that won't break your bank account this one is for you, however if you are looking for a axe that is perfect out of the box forget it and get something else for 3 times the money. One thing I don't like about the guitar is the output jack. It is cut into the body without any protection (some Ibanez models have this too). You have to be very very careful when taking out your cable or you will stratch the finish. I wish they would have put the jack on the side, or maybe a strat type metal guard if they have to have it on the front.

Made in Korea, with five way switch, H/S/H pickups, Floyd Rose licensed tremolo system with locking nuts, etc..
Comparing with other Korean built guitars from other manufacturers, for the price of a Raven, we are getting top quality product. Just received the guitar a few days ago (July 2001).

Sound : 9
I also own a Gibson Les Paul Studio Plus. The 1000Q has a lower output but the sound quality is very good. The five way switch does make a big difference in the sound.
I am using this guitar mainly for song writing. Present setup:
Zoom 505 II, and a souped up Fender Pro-Junior with NOS tubes, Weber VST C10NQ speaker. The amp is miked for me to listen to the progress of the songs.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
There was a little Buzzing on Low "E" string. So I adjusted the Floyd Rose Licensed Tremelo unit a little higher. The three springs had to be adjusted to make the floating bridge balanced. Now it is working fine. After that I also adjusted the intonation. In fact, the amp did not broadcast the buzzing on low "E" string but as a songwriter, noise is important. It is very important to adjust the tremelo springs to balance the floating bridge. At the same time, the tunning of all the strings should be adjusted with the springs to come up to a complete balanced state.

To maintain the tuning with the Foyd Rose Licensed unit, I had found the following tuning procedure will help:
Using a Chromatic Tuner (I used the Boss foot pedal type)
1) Adjust High "E" to exact middle
2) Adjust High "B" to a little sharp, but still close to middle. The two lights should be lit. Just a little bit will do it.
3) Adjust all the other strings, Low "E", "A" "D" and "G" by using the 7th fret harmonics.

Check all the tuning again. Since the Tremelo system will have an effect on the tuning of all the strings, you might have to balance the springs again. This work should be done only onces. But if you are changing strings, be sure to use the same type again.

I had found that tuning this way will not generate a dead center on open Low "E"."A" "D" or "G" but the intonation is better, and the chords sounds better. Also a perfect match (by ears) to keyboards.

Lock up the strings by the locking nuts, check the tuning again.
Adjust by the microadjustment screws.

By the way, initially the micro adjustment screws should screw in to a tight position, then release by maybe 3/4 turns. This will give a tight fit, and also room for micro adjustment.

One tip on tunning, always go up instead of going down.

Using this method, I noticed that the tuning is quite stable even after heavy use of the tremolo system.

Do not over tighten the locking nuts.

I am using Fender Super 250 - 9 to 42 strings.

Actually the open string tuning is fine too, and is faster but if perfect tunes are needed, in case of song writing, using Fret "7" harmonics will generate more accurate tunes from actual playing.
This guitar can be a serious gear for the professional player.

In fact the factory setup is fine to start with. No complaint. I just modified the guitar setup to match up my personal preferences. I also did that to my Gibson Les Paul. Swithing to lighter 9 to 42 strings, and readjusted the intonation.

Now the guitar really sings, and works beautifully with the Zoom 505 II multieffect box....
Nice guitar

Yes, this guitar can withstand live playing, using my own way of tuning. Tuning will stay and will not deviate too much. Top quality, solidly built. I am buying the Raven West Acoustic/Electric too.

Good, Raven is very helpful. Consider Raven West Guitar as a special personal design guitar, made in Korea.

2000 model,24 fret, quilt top, vol/tone, h/s/h pickup confiq, maple neck with rosewood and basswood, scuptured strat style body, floyd rose licensed locking tremolo, thin neck with low action. Made in korea

Sound : 10
my back ground is 80s hard rock. the guitar has a good solid sound and the pickups aren't noisy at all. somewhat bright sounding. compares well with ibanez Rg series guitars and a lot less expensive.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I have the quilted top in purpl. the body is finely sculptured and has one of the most beautiful colors in a guitar i've seen. I made some minor adjustments mostly to suit my taste. The guitar looks like it should cost three times what I paid. The action is low and the floyd rose sitts in a cutout

Reliability/Durability : 9
seems pretty well built. wouldn't go to any gig without a backup but this guitar would cause me no insecurities. Haven't had it long enough to know how the finish will hold up

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't dealt with customer support. Its suppose to be lifetime guaranteed

you got to love the price on this ax. I plan on buying all there other upper end models as well. Thats about $600 for three good guitars! They look great.
I have always wanted an Ibanez Rg570. after purchasing this ax and knowing I can get two more for the same price as one Ibanez I can't bring myself to buy the ibanez. If I made my living with a guitar I'd get something better.few of us ever will...save your money
