New 2002, these are Korean made i believe. 24 frets. Quilt top, 3 way switch, colume tone, basic 2 hum setup. No name pickups. Believe its basswood body with plain maple neck. Double Cutaway thinline. Tune-O-Matic bridge, sealed no name tuners. Nice thin neck.

Sound : No Opinion
Well sound right out of the box was pretyt decent.... The stock pickups are somewhat weak and voiceless, but i knew when buying the guitar i was replacing the pickups right away anyway. Rplaced them with an EMG 81/85 setup. With these pickups this guitar really screams. Far better then my friend's Ibanez. This is really a metal guitar i think due to the wide flat nexk. Alot like an Ibanez wizard. Good for runs and bends. Basically replace the pickups and you have a monster sounding guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
right out of the box the action was a little high, but it seems it was set up like this precautionary because a quick lowering of the unomatic lowered it quite nicely and still little or no buzz. As low an action as my Jackson Dinky. Neck was pitched just right right for the tune-o-matic brudge, which is of average quality. COnsider picking up a Gotoh or Schaller tunomatic, but it does the job well. The quilt on this guita is quite nice. I dont beleive its entirely perfectly bookmatched, but only noticable up close and for $200 who cares? The fact it came quilted at all is great. The finish on the body is great. Hard as stone. The neck finish is my favorite aspect though. Not sticky at all you can feel its sealed but still feels almost raw. Another great added feature is the neck joint. Its rounded and pitched up the neck and uses bolts rather then a plate. Alot like the joint on Ibanez RG models. No bulky strat joint here. Overall great looking, and great setup for a guitar this cheap.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This is a guitar that looks more fragile then it is. Overall feels very soli. I wouldnt be afriad to play this live at all, and its so cheap. The hardware, like i said before, isnt cheap, but not top line either. Most of all i didnt like the fact that the tunomatic was more less held down by a wire, so i replaced it with a more solid gotoh. The tuners are smooth grover style, and work just as good as any other non-locking tuner. Eferything feels nice and solid, a real workhorse guitar... Would i gig without a backup? i dont think id do that with any guitar, but with this one i wouldnt fear having to use the backup anythime soon either.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Says lifetime warranty, which i suppose is a nice gesture... but how helpful they are and the extent of it.... no opinion yet, havent had a problem.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing about 5 years. I use a Crate GT-50 Stealth ampmainly. I also have a Jackson Custom Dinky and a couple other Frankenstein guitars i put together myself. This guitar is right with the Dinky in terms of quiality and playability. I love the fact that i could find a double cutaway guitar with a stop tailpiece. Overall guitar has great constuction, great finish, and great to play. A real eye catcher. Basically replace the pickups and you have a 500-900 guitar. Before you look at another ibanez or ESP look into Raven. Overall this guitar as it stands now is all i could really want, minus being neck through (Again, $200). If it were stolen id hunt down who took and buy 2 more just to make sure.
