Best bang for the buck. I don't see many of these with the vine inlay anymore. Not sure if they still make them...probably not very profitable as the process is very labor intensive. Great looking and playing guitar.

PLAYING 30+ YEARS, MAINLY BASS BUT RECENTLY LEARNING GUITAR. I OWN LOTS OF GEAR BUT IN GUITARS ONLY HAD WASHBURN X-30 AND GALANTI EXPLORER 2. ALSO FENDER STRAT-ACOUSTIC AND A NUMBER OF BASSES. i TOOK THIS GUITAR TO THE LOCAL GUITAR CENTER TO BUY A CASE. THEY ARE A PRS DISTRIBUTER. IT TOOK ME 2 HOURS TO GET OUT OF THE SHOP AS THE EMPLOYEES WERE FAWNING OVER THE QUALITY OF BUILD I GOT FOR MY MONEY. I KNOW IT IS HARD TO BUY AN INSTRUMENT WITHOUT FIRST PLAYING IT, BUT IN MY CASE I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED.

Same as the others have listed. Mine is a gorgeous green sunburst quilt top. I mean gorgeous! The vine inlays run the length of the fretboard (all 24 frets...It seems that the newer ones only run 22 frets...not sure why the change)

I play many styles of music but always need a good humbacking sound. This guitar lands it. The pickups meshed with the mahogany body create a very warm tone.

Drop Dead Perfect! I cannot find a flaw anywhere on this guitar. It was adjusted a little too low for my taste (a litle over 1 mm at the 12th fret) but it didn't buzz anywhere on the fretboard. Truss rod had just the right amount of relief. Frets were finished VERY nicely.

I own over 30 guitars (Yes PRS (USA), Gibson, and Fender (USA)included) and have been playing for over 30 years (I've taught guitar for many of those years). I've heard comparisons between this guitar and PRS. I must say that this guitar is high in quality and certainly on par with the PRS SE Custom. The two things I love the most about this guitar are the looks and tone. I can't walk by it without picking it up to play. I have always been a huge fan of an all mahagony guitar with humbuckers...like a Gibson SG...but this guitar has the killer looks to boot. If it were stolen I would get another. This will be one of my gigging guitars as I like to keep the high $$ guitars at home. Completely satisfied with this purchase...

Guitar had truss rod tighten way to hard resulting in severe back bend . The notes were all dead . Eric of Raven West claims to have the best guitar tech in America but, I think he meant the best that happens to be a monkey . The finish had a run by the headstock . There are blemishes around the binding in the maple top . They include dark wood and areas where glue had not been properly cleaned resulting in the stain not taking . The fret board left fingers black the first two weeks of playing.

After the crap wore off the fret board and I properly adjusted the truss rod the guitar played good . All parts seem to be of good quality so , I do not see any future problems .

I wish I could leave a negative number here !!! I contacted Eric at Raven West about the above problems. He gave me no help and basically told me to return the guitar . I wrote if this was his only solution I would return it but , I would like my money first and he should cover all shipping cost . He flipped his wig called me names and accused me of blackmailing him . I'm serious !!! and I will send you all E mails if you contact me at uwillc46@yahoo.com .

This could have been a 10 but, with no support you are taking a chance. I know how to adjust a truss rod if you don't or are afraid to ruin your warranty you would have to send the guitar back to California paying shipping both ways to have his "monkey" redo his work . The warranty is probably useless any way seriously , read the E mails he sent me . I don't recommend this company to any one . I put the value on this guitar at $200.00 US tops .This way when you get a guitar like mine you might not be to disappointed .

Essentially, this thing looks just like a PRS guitar - to the point where many people mistake it for one (not that I'll complain). The features on this guitar are not the kind of thing one would expect from a ??250 guitar. BEAUTIFUL quilted maple finish. I could not find one single flaw in it, and I looked over it extensively! The guitar is mahogany - set neck, lovely and thin, nicely bound in cream, and sports a rosewood fretboard with an stonking vine inlay down all 24 frets (with sneaky little markers on each of the buds. Hell, even the headstock is bound in gorgeous albalone inlay. It came with stock pups, although I could have had SD's equipped... Perhaps my only qualm with this thing is a slight chip (and I mean slight) at the bottom, but I put that down to the way the ****** couriers handled it.

Other reviewers have said this guitar is perfect for loads of styles, and I don't quite get that. I find this guitar is very much a rock guitar, which is good for me, as I'm more of a rock guitarist. If I drive it do a more metal (think Gamma Ray) sound the pickups become muddy and unclear. If I take it lower to a softer level, it's rather too quiet. I raised the pups a bit and sort of overcame the problem - 20/30 minutes testing and it was acceptable. It'd be best to either buy the SD's they offer with it, or just get a new set. I think I shall definately put some PRS Tremonti pickups on to get the punch that the stock pups lack. Overall, a real nice guitar for rock and with the new pups it should hold that position for a LONG time to come =)

As I mentioned in the features section, I poured over this guitar, ensuring it was all in good order, and set up to my liking. Other than the pups, which needed a little tinkering, it was perfect. The action was low (with only a slight rattle, barely noticable when playing). Everything was smooth and, all in all, quite dandy.

This guitar would withstand the apocalypse, I'm sure. It's very sturdy and well built, yet only weighing 8lbs! Incredible. On some of my previous guitars the hardware has flaked within a month of getting it. The hardware on the Raven seems to be of a good quality, and should last a long time to come. I'd recommend getting some strap locks for it, as the buttons, while not being flimsy or anything, are not something that I trust. As for gigging... I certainly wouldn't just take this for a gig (the music I play demands I have a few), but for the role it would fill, I would just use that. Nothing to support it. I trust it with my life :)

Never needed this, although I filled out the warrenty as soon as I got it.
In the process of buying the guitar from the States, Eric (presumably the owner of RWG), was great! I had a few questions for him that he answered clearly. Even when there was a problem getting the guitar I ordered, Eric emailed me to ask if it was ok to send a different serial # guitar, rather than just sending it anyways.
I got a free cable ^^. It's gold! ^^ .... and actually... it's pretty damn good, unlike the cables most co's throw in...

I've been playing for some 6 years now - not that long, but I have a lot of experience. Being a lefty, it's quite hard for me to come upon decent guitars. I own a Fender American Stratocaster (right handed upside down), Gibson V and a Schecter C-1 Classic (also a few 'starter' guitars). While I wouldn't say this is absolutely the best guitar I have and ever will own... I'd certainly say it's as good as any of my other guitars - although they do, of course, have their own merits, and suit a different style. Having played some high-end PRS guitars (those being the only ones available for us cack-handed folks), I could safely say the RavenWest is as good as them (maybe better for the thinner neck). With the PRS pups I'm gonna put on it, it should certainly be an amazing guitar. Just shows you really, that when you buy an expensive guitar like that, you're just paying for the name... Thoroughly pleased with this guitar, and I'll definately be going back to RWG.
