the wilkinson pickups I have used are a couple steps up from MIM standard strat pickups. Don't know thw values of the pots because the company wouldn't provide that info.

Just wanted to drop this note on the support, have I used it? No. But if a company will not answer legitimate questions about their products some would have to wonder what kind of customer support they might provide. Questions like fret size? Pentometer values? Fretboard radius? Things like that. Anyway, this is information a potential customer may want. It is truley an unfortunate thing becuase I had the money in hand to purchase but no questions would be answered. If you like the looks and don't care about service Buy It. If service matters you might want to know my experience here.

-The RG 755 Ash is a strat style guitar (mines a lefty).
-It has 3S Wilkinson Alnico single coil pick-ups.
-Ash body, maple neck and ebony (bound) fretboard.
-The inlay work on the fretboard and on the wood pick guard has to be seen...Incredible !!
-It comes in satin finish, so you will need to oil it occassionally.
-It also has the wilkinson WVC tremolo system along with ping chrome tuners.
-The neck itself is wide ~2 1/8" at 12th fret and 1 11/16th" at the nut (Great for larger hands and fingers) I'm not sure what the radius is, but it feels fairly flat...I'm guessing a 12" radius.
-21 medium size frets.
-This is a much heavier guitar than I would have thought... 9 pounds.
-All this value for under $400 bucks (including shipping and duty charges at the border)

This thing sounds great, a bit heavier than the typical strat sound, but still quite bright. What I found suprising is the sustain...The notes will ring a loooong time. There is pick-up noise, but hey, single coils are gonna do that. I plug this through my GNX4 and love it.

Being a satin finish, there will be more work in maintaining the guitar. The guys at Raven West do a complete check-up and set-up before sending it out the door. Nice, you won't need to adjust truss rod or set pick-up heights or set intonation. It came very well packaged (double boxed), it was shipped a long way (I live in Canada) with no damage. This is a very well built guitar. the action is a little high (but that's where I prefer it...I tend to hit the strings a little hard when in the zone). The fret ends could probably use a tiny bit more sanding, they're not sharp, but you can feel them when sliding...Not a big deal.

This is a well built heavy guitar. I have no reason to think that this would not stand up to life on the road (I take this when I fly and so far the baggage handlers haven't been able to knock anything loose in it).

I only had one question when I received it (regarding maintaining the satin finish), the people at Raven West were very prompt and informative with their answer. They were also a real pleasure to deal with while purchasing the guitar. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty as well (hey, it's built rock solid, I don't expect I'll be needing to make any warranty claims on this bad boy)

I've been playing for 25 years, I own a few other guitars and this one is right up there with others that I paid waaaay more for. Wish I would have stumbled across these guys sooner. If this were stolen I'd definitely replace it (not only does it sound and play great, the inlay work is absolutely incredible...I've never seen inlay work so complex and just plain cool, if anything, all that inlay work sometimes makes it distracting to play...I get caught up admiring it!!). Being a lefty, it's difficult to find good quality guitars, I definitely plan on buying more guitars from Raven West (soon too). If this one is any indication of the quality work they do, then I have no problems ordering more of their products. As an aside, they also sent me a free guitar cord to go along with the purchase...Nice touch. For under $400 bucks total (including shipping and duty charges) you can't find a nicer looking instrument... The fact that it plays and sounds great too..Wow !!

Strat style solid ash body, 3 wilkinson vintage pick-ups,25 1/2 inch scale, maple neck, ebony fretboard. A stunning abalone and pearl inlay over most of the fretboard - amazing work.Even carries to the solid timber pick guard. Pretty good quality hardware, well made. For the dollar this guitar is stunning -a fantastic guitar to look at, not a single gripe here. Stop reading - buy ony. The best value guitar I've ever played or touched.

Stunned me. I had this guitar shipped from Raven West Guitars, unpacked it (nice packing job and it travelled 12,000mile safely). I'd had the guitar set-up from them to heavier strings - I use 12's.
At first I thought the intonation was out - it wasn't. Excellent set-up , perfect. I changed the strings to my usual brand and was gob smacked. This is a STUNNING sounding instrument. Authentic vintage sounds.Plays like butter. For whatever reason, whether its a combination of ash body ,pick-ups etc. this guitar works.

No quibbles. For this price it's the bargain of the century. If you look very closely you can spot liitle things, like rough routing around the bridge springs. But hey, I don't own a museum I want guitars to play. The neck work in abalone and pearl is worth the asking price alone.

I read other reports here of Eric's support - it's all true, a pleasure to deal with and very honest. Fantastic, even refunded some shipping costs.

BUY ONE NOW. This is a better guitar than my Fender Custom shop. better than my G&L. I love it. I've been playing 35 years. I have several strats to compare it directly to and have. A genuine 1958 strat - yes I prefer the RWG ash. This is better than all my strats except a genuine 1963 strat (her names Jade). Nothing I have ever heard compares to that guitar but this is surely the absolute bargain deal in all of the guitar kingdom. Buy another one? It's on its way now.
