2007 Korea, 22 fret, single-cut, solid mahogany body, beautiful quilt tiger maple top, 2 volume and 2 tone controls and 3 way switch, gold plated G and B humbuckers all the way. Mahogany body capped with a highly figured and quilted tiger maple top and fully bound mahogany set neck. The finish on this guitar is amazingly beautiful. The red tiger maple flame top blends right into the black around the edges of the body of the guitar with a very high gloss finish throughout the guitar. The body and neck are fully bound and binding on the body is inlaid with a beautiful pearl abalone which has to been seen for yourself to appreciate. Les Paul body style topped off with satin gold tune-o-matic bridge, stop tail peice and wilkinson tuners. 22 fret, 24 3/4" ebony fretboard with large block inlaid abalone position markers and even onto the abalone bound headstock.

This one sounds beautiful. A buddy came over with his Les Paul Studio and we both thought my Raven West had a comparable sound quality.

I was disappointed with the set up job and a few cosmetic issues with the guitar I purchased. The left adjustment screw on the bridge was chewed up a little, the plastic access covers on the back were unfinished with burred, raised edges and the raven inlay on the 12th fret wasn't done all that well. The Wilkinson tuners looked cheap on such a beautiful guitar. They looked like cheap plastic. Mostly small, detail issues that are easily taken care of. However, the quilted maple top was top-shelf, beautiful. Not even book matched like most Les Pauls.. Solid, beautiful, carved, quilted maple top. Absolutely gorgeous. Abaloney binding all the way around with a great looking raven head inlay on the headstock. I challenge anyone to find a more beautiful guitar in this price range and some in the high end range. This would have been rated a 10 if it weren't for the detail problems noted above.

I think that this guitar would hold up under anyones usage within reason. (no Pete Townshend action) It's a very sturdy, heavy guitar that I wouldn't hesitate to use professionally if I were a career musician.

I've been playing for about 15 years and have played some pretty impressive instruments in the past. This guitar stands right up there with the best of them. I would definitely buy another if it was lost or stolen. Truth be told, if this were a crappy guitar to play I think I'd buy this one just to sit and look at it's so gorgeous. The quilted top look so rich and deep you feel like you could dip you whole hand into it. Fortunately it's a great playing guitar as well. Overall this guitar is well worth the money I paid for it and would be a perfect 10 if it weren't for the not so great set up and the detail problems I noted.

This guitar suits me more than fine for my style, mainly classic rock Zeppelin especially. I use it with a Line 6 Spider III 120 and a KRANK 100 watt 1/2 stack. Unfortunately this guitar has feedback problems when played with the KRANK. Works great on the Line 6. The guitar has nearly that classic Les Paul sound all us LP lovers come to expect. I believe this guitar can do just about anything in the right hands. Aside from the feedback on the KRANK, I love the sound of this baby. It's really close to my Gibson LP believe it or not.

The guitar was setup quite well right out of the box. Aside from just tuning it, it was pretty much right on. Pickups could probrably use some adjusting, may be that's where my feedback problem is coming from on the KRANK as mentioned above. The top of this guitar is unbeleiveably beautiful. People see it and ask to have a closer look and fall in love with it, especially after they play it. As far as all the hardware and all, everything was great. No complaints at all.

The guitar was played live once and that's when it had the feedback problem, but we were using the KRANK amp. Once backed away from the monitor this guitar screamed. The hardware looks to be quality stuff and I see no reason why it would not last if properly taken care of as all instuments should be. The finish is a very high gloss and looks beautiful, I'm sure after years and years of regular playing you will definately get some pick scratches on it, but I'm sure the finish will hold up for the life of the guitar if taken care of. Strap buttons are solid and seem like they will last too. I'm sure I could depend on this guitar. All it would need is good handeling and care and it would last a lifetime without a doubt. I can not think of ever doing a gig without some sort of back up, but if it came to it, yeah, I'd use it without a back up.

Eric a Raven West seems to be a really great guy, easy to talk to and listens to you. He provides a lifetime warranty on all his guitars, but the question is, "Who's lifetime? His or yours?". This guitar is rock solid. Even with its lifetime warranty, with proper care and maintenance, I really don't think I'll have to worry about making a warranty claim. Even if I did, I'm sure Eric would be more than happy to help me out. Like I said, he seems to be a really great guy and he stands behind his products 100%.

I've been playing for quite awhile. I own a 1997 Gibson LP Studio, 2007 Raven West RM300DX, 2007 Raven West RX620J (equallly amazing as the RM300DX), and a 1977 Takamine 370 acoustic. Nothing to have asked before buying this guitar. If stolen, I would replace it with the same. I love this guitar, it's beautiful, sounds fantastic and it's a real pleasure to play. My favorite thing about it is it's looks. I was looking to purchase another Gibson Les Paul at the time and came across this one. It caught my eye with its looks. It's something different other than a Gibson LP. After playing it and comparing it side by side with a Gibson LP with the same basic setup, the Raven is the obvious choice for me as far as quality and price. You can not beat the price of these guitars for the quality. At least I can't find anyone that comes close. I absolutely love the inlaid raven on the head stock. I love ravens! This a very unique looking LP style guitar,it is simply beautiful. If you are looking for quality and value in an LP copy other than a Epiphone or something else just as popular, this is your answer. You just can't beat this.
