Custom classical concert guitar made from striped macassar ebony with a mastergrade Italian spruce top. Schaller tuners with ebony buttons, ebony bridge, saddle and nut made from bone. Guitar has 20 frets with fret marker at the 7th fret. Guitar was custom built for me in May of 2006, using woods that I had purchased and sent to Renato Bellucci in Paraguay. Neck is made of mahogany reinforced with Ebony and Tatajyva. The headstock was cut from left overs from the back and it is a perfect compliment to the back and sides. The finish of the guitar is a transparent lacquer, and the guitar came with several accessories, including personalized label on the interior, signed letter of authenticity, electronic tuner, humdifier, string winder, and polishing cloth. Guitar including a plush leather guitar case with a beige fur-like soft padded interior.

Packaging on the guitar was top shelf. Guitar was shipped on a Friday and I received it on Tuesday. Guitar was shipped inside a sturdy box and the guitar case was bubble wrapped to ensure that no damage occured to the case or guitar.

Sound : 10
The sound of the guitar is perfect for my style of music, which is classical. After tuning up the guitar, I played Brazilian Portrait and Lagrima. The basses were full round, and full of warmth. The trebles were crystalline and had incredible clarity. What really surprised me was the depth and warmth of tone which is something I typically associated with a nice cedar top. However the trebles are incredibly bell-like, which is what one would expect from a spruce top guitar. The guitar is balanced across all registers.

The guitar came with D'Addario strings which are very nice. After the first month, I replaced them with normal tension Galli Titanio strings and the guitar sounded even better. The sustain on the basses when played with a rest stroke is between 14-18 seconds and the trebles between 8-10 seconds.

I have had this guitar for over a year now and it continues to open up and the sound improves with each passing day. This guitar is also a boomer and the projection and depth of tone never fails to amaze me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is just about perfect and if I were to change anything, I might lower it about .1mm. Even so, it is a dream to play. The The top is perfectly bookmatched and it has beautiful ebony bindings, with ebony and spruce linings. The finish is absolutely perfect and I could not find any scratches. Truly, a work of art! Also, the back was a 4-piece back and was so perfectly binded, that I have yet to be able to find the seams. Unbelieveable craftsmanship.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Although I do not do much live playing or performing, I have no doubts that this guitar could withstand live playing. As I have had this guitar for over a year now, I am confident that it will last my lifetime and I will pass it along to my daughter. The tuners are high grade Schallers, so I don't see them breaking down or having to be replaced anytime in the near future. The finish is top shelf and there are no signs of wear on the finish on any part of the guitar. As any guitarist knows, the key to the life of any concert guitar is how it is handled and cared for. I always wipe it down after playing and keep it properly humidified.

Customer Support : 10
The customer support is one of the primary reasons that I purchased from Renato Bellucci. I own several of his guitars and the pre-sales and after-sales service have always been excellent. Most importantly, he has always answered all of my questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Every guitar that I have purchased has arrived in perfect condition and the pictures that he has sent me when the guitars never came close to capturing the beauty and craftsmanship of these guitars. The outstanding customer support and the manner in which he deals with his customers makes me very comfortable in referring my friends and colleagues to him who are in the market for a concert class guitar. Everyone of my friends has been totally satisfied with their purchase and simply cannot believe the quality of the guitar for the price that they paid.

Regarding repairs, that has never been a concern as I have never had a single problem with the guitar. No buzzing on the strings, perfectly balanced across all the registers, and the hardware is rock solid. What else needs to be said!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for almost three years now and in addition to my Renato Bellucci guitars, I own a Cordoba 45R, Alvarez MC80, which while good guitars, do not come close in tone, warmth, sustain, and projection.

If this guitar were lost or stolen, I would be extremely upset and would try my very best to replace it. However, the woods that were used for the build are so unique in figuring, that it would be very difficult to actually replace.

I love the beauty of the woods, the finish, the craftmanship, and above all the tone and playability of this guitar, which are the most important things to me.

Sound : 4
I waited until this time, over a year after I purchased this guitar to give the wood time to mature and open up. I am very very disappointed. It never opened up. The sound is dull until this time. Poor tonal quality, unsatisfactory projection even with Savarez 500ARH strings. I also used Hannabach Titanyl in this guitar. Same poor sound quality. What Mr. Belluci said that his guitars are comparable to guitars at $6,000.00-$8,000.00, is a complete lie. The sound (sustain, projection, tonal quality) is comparable to my Yamaha C40, which I bought for $94.00, at Costco. The sound of this guitar for which an instrument should be rated is very disappointing for the price I paid. Be careful with your mail order from this company. Advice, it's best to buy a guitar that you can have a hand on experience. Try an instrument first before buying it. Never on a mail order for instruments. Listen to it first. My other guitar, a 2005 Hauser model by Francisco Navarro is far superior to the Concert Model of Mr. Belucci in sound quality, projection and sustain. And they both have the same tone woods used for top and b/s.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Action is good. No buzzing
Noticeable and unforgivable imperfections on the finish.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
My guitar is only over a year old. I don't carry it outside the house. I have a hygrometer/thermometer to monitor the best temperature and humidity for my instruments.

Customer Support : 8
The buying process was great. I never dealt with him though, after my instrument was shipped. So I would give this an 8 for my pre-purchase experience.

Overall Rating : 5
I've been playing for over 10 years. This is my fourth guitar. If it's stolen or broken I would never buy a Belluci guitar again. I just don't like a dull sounding guitar priced at $1,595.00.
