Are you kidding? this thing is a dream come true.....I play V's and strats almost exclusively ( 89 gibson V, Dean V, Fender 87 strat plus, G&L S 500) And now i have a V that does the Strat thing!!!!! only MEANER.Reverend P-90's are sweet and glassy on a clean sound and Balls Galore when fired up through my 800, plenty of quack in the off positions; and with the bass roll off i can get all the tones that Fender lacks these days......IN A F*N FLYING V!!!!!!

Man, the guys at Reverend know what they're doin...Zack sets em' all up and i've never played one that wasn't as close to perfect out of the box as perfect can be. Its Black, so all they gotta do is make sure theres not something other than black showing, so the finish is damn fine......the lightning bolts are not nearly as annoying to me as i originally thought, and they've kinda grown on me. The 90's have a beautifull balance across the board. As i said, these guys know guitars.(thank god somebody does these days)

I've already beat this guitar like a 70's street pimp smacks his ho,
and believe me... it just loves the abuse...i have a masochistic V and i love her. Built like a brick ******** I would gig on her tomorrow if i had a show to play..... if she can handle my abuse, then she can handle just about anything you punks can dish out, short of complete stupidity. NEVER TRAVEL WITHOUT A BACKUP YOU SCHMUCK, as you cannot predict what the other ******* will do.

I've been playin for 25 yrs. have gigged countless gigs, owned a **** ton of amps/guitars/toys/etc.I've NEVER had a better guitar at this price, right out the box; ready for stage...Now if they'd only do an explorer type i'd be in heaven(C'mon Joe!).If it were stolen; after i finished crying, Id assemble my team of super hot ninja babes to track it and bring me the owners fingers.....one digit at a time.....In closing, A Killer flyin V that does the strat thing, as well as bein a slaughterhouse of tonal brutality.... all types of music welcome..all amplifiers welcome....NUFF' SAID.

Just wanted to respond to the review below:
- You state the neck is bowed, and the frets buzz. Obviously, the guitar is in SERIOUS need of a set-up. We set them up before we ship, but set-ups can shift due to climate changes and/or shipping stress, as well as from general breaking in.
- The "lifeless" sound characteristics you describe are classic symptoms of a bad set-up, as mentioned above. A bowed neck and fret buzz will kill clarity and sustain.
- Possibly a new set strings would have also helped the tone. We ship them with the Korean factory strings, which are not the greatest. But we know that individuals will install their preferred brand/gauge, so we don't waste the time and money to restring them here (which would pointlessly raise the price of the guitars).
- This guitar has the same pickups, hardware, electronics and neck that pros have been raving about for years. Ron Asheton tours the world with a stock off-the-shelf model (other than Sperzel tuners added).
- We do not put out lemons. Our quality control and design parameters does not allow it. If you had the guitar properly set-up, I think the results would have been positive.
Regards,
Joe Naylor - President

Everyone raves about Reverend guitars on this site - let me be the first to disagree. The sound from the guitar and P-90's is lifeless. No power, no definiton, no soul, nothing, just dead. Sounds bad clean and distorted. Weak sustain. Midrange is thick and muddy. Bass is booming and poorly defined. Treble is dull. Bad sound. The guitar sounds lifeless unplugged too.

Poorly set-up. Fret buzz for days. Neck clearly bowed. Paint and poly finish in good shape.
Frets dressed properly. Tuners work well. Electronics appear solid.

It is an inexpensive guitar and feels that way to me.

You get what you pay for.
I have high end Fenders and a Custom Shop Gibson and they are so much better.
Maybe I got a lemon.
Wouldn't buy another
