Reverend Warhawk II HB
This guitar has several "gibson-ish" features, and the body shape and reverse headstock remind one of a thunderbird, although this guitar is quite different and unique as well.
neck-thru, 24 5/8" scale, dual humbuckers, TOM bridge w/ stoptail. The body and neck (i think) are both made from korina, the body also features a raised center section, which looks cool and has an effect on the sound.
The only things I would change personally would be adding a tremolo (this is a factory option, my local store, however didn't have any), maybe some type of burst finish, and different knobs. Other than that, visually the guitar is pretty plain, with a flat black finish, but it looks sharp and is a good shape. pretty standard features, but it is put together well with high quality components all around. One special feature - the bass contour knob. this is like a backwards tone knob that cuts the bass, it is used very well here to give you a wide range of tones, similar to coil taps, but i'd say more useful overall. Also, another thing that i'd like to see on this guitar would be a recessed output jack.

This guitar sounds really good. I usually play through an old peavey triumph 60 tube amp, with lots of distortion and some effects. Unplugged it is pretty loud and resonant for an electric, and plugged in the pickups catch the nuance of the guitar's tone well. You can get a lot of different good tones out of the two pickups with the bass contour, the pickups aren't noisy either, which is important for me. Overall it is a full, rich sound, with very clear highs and lows.

Other than that, in these respects this guitar is absolutely flawless. The neck is wonderful, best feeling neck in any guitar i've owned (for electrics i've had a cheap kramer strat copy, gibson les paul, and a prs custom se) and the frets are perfect. it plays wonderfully and the intonation is spot on.
I am giving this guitar a nine only because the options for the finishes are kind of plain jane.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Haven't had this guitar long enough to accurately judge this, but it seems very sturdy and well built, all the hardware is of a very high quality for this price. Throw on some straplocks and it is gig ready

Customer Support : No Opinion
never contacted them, though it is a small company and they seem to have a high level of involvement in their customer base

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing about 10 years, and own a few other guitars, a prs custom se w/ mccarty pickups, a gibson les paul classic, an alvarez acoustic. This guitar is definately the best electric guitar i've owned, hands down. For the price there is nothing better.

This is a review for the new set neck series of Warhawks. Mine is a prototype that mistakenly had the 3x3 tuner configuration put on. I like this headstock much better than the other Warhawk's headstocks, it's Gibson-ish but bigger than Gibson headstocks. The price i paid includes the Les Trem installed at the factory and the hardshell Reverend case. The neck is Mahogany with Rosewood fretboard and the solid body is also Mahogany with a raised middle section. Two pickups with a three-way switch, volume, tone, and, best of all, the bass contour nob. Like I said, I ordered mine with the Les Trem, which comes with a roller bridge and the nut is graphite so the play on the trem is ultra smooth with no tuning issues. You can put the guitar out of tune, but you have to really do battle with the trem to do so. I'm giving this catagory a 10 because, even though it doesn't really have a ton of features, for my tastes it has all the right features to make it a solid, gigging, professional instrument.

With the bas contour nob all the way up things are a bit muddy, but once you get a feel for the sweet spots it is easy to dial in sweet tones across the spectrum. I've raised the pole pieces and lowered the pickups on mine to get a little bit of a brighter and more open sound. This I did following a suggestion that Joe Nalor, the man who builds these guitars, made to another of his customers on the Reverend forum found on their website. It worked like a charm and further proved to me that Joe stands behind his products and really tries to help all of his customers enjoy their products to their fullest. Thick and thin, distorted and clean, this guitar can do it, and it all sounds great.

Set up was flawless out of the box. The intonation was spot on and the trem was set perfectly. The nesck and frets are comfortable and smooth. This is a gloss finish so it's not quite as fast as the bolt-on satin finished necks, but it's not sticky either. It's what a good Gibson neck should be but rarely is. Not to knock Gibsons, but I've played some real loser Gibsons. I've never picked up a Reverend that wasn't nigh on perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Very sturdy. There is nothing cheap about these guitars.

When you call Reverend you talk to real people who really care about the product and the people they are selling to. When i was first looking at Reverend I called them and e-mailed a couple of times (before I found out about the forum) and they always answered my questions and never talked to me like sales people, but more like musicians who love great guitars. Joe reads the forum and responds often to posts on there.

These guitars are such an incredible value. Most every other guitar I pick up is great...but... No buts here. Just great guitars that will perform every night. I own Fenders and Gibsons, but they don't get picked up much anymore. I own three Reverends now and I'm sure I'll buy more in the future.
