I bought a 2006 amber fireglow via ebay. Wonderful color, great guitar. It came with the regular RIC-Case. Setting and action was wonderful. Keeps perfectly in tune. I had to get used to the neck and the glossy fretboard but it??s wonderful after you play it for a while. It looks rather vintage, beautiful. I have rather small hands but also bar?? is no problem.

I play Songwriter-based Pop and Rock. Rather poppy stuff, not hard music. It suits pretty fine for that kind of music. I play it with a Engl Screamer Pro Blues with 2x10" Speakers. Sound fine also with distortion. The guitar gives you a ton of sound possibilities. I??m rather purist, i don??t need all this kind of knobs. Haven??t tried the RIC-O-Sound yet, but i definitely will. I use Line 6 MM4 and Boss DD-6, the distortion via amp. The guitar is quiet compared to my strat.
I love it.

No words about that. Rickenbacker has proved what these guitars are worth. I haven??t changend the strings yet, heard it??s kinda stressy. I play it in the rehearal room and will definitely do gigs with this beauty.

I??ve been playing for about 18 years and own a telecaster and a 50 s Stratocaster from the Classic Series (Mexico). I thank all the reviewers of Harmony Central for taking time in reviewing stuff because it helped me a lot when buying this guitar and other stuff. Knock on wood this baby won??t stolen as i??m realy getting used to it hanging around with me. I was offered a 1989 jetglo in a shop for 1.250 EUR but it was in bad condition. I like the jetglo color but the amber fireglow beats the odd black one :-)

2004 Montezuma Brown Rickenbacker 620/6. 21 frets, solid neck through body design. Maple with rosewood fretboard, all finished with conversion varnish. Stunning! 2 Rickenbacker High-gains, 2 tone knobs, 2 volumes + the 5th knob. Although the neck is standard size, the body is 3/4 size. Has the famous Rickenbacker cresting wave on the top horn. Body was surprisingly thin when I first got it but I've got used to it now. Ric bridge: individually adjustable length but height is for all six. Could do a bit better in this department. Decorative "R"-tailpiece. Schaller tuners on a headstock that looks enormous compared to the smaller body. Still, very fitting and extraordinary. The neck is rather narrow. Not for big fingers! In turn the neck is also quite thick depth-wise. Very peculiar and unlike Fenders or Gibsons. May take some time to get used to! Rickenbacker/SKB case included.

The sound is very distinct with pronounced higher mids. A bit like Ric- semis or Gretches. Maybe a bit mellower. Top end isn't as bright as a Fender. The bass is tighter than either a Les Paul or a Strat. Rather unique! Suits rhythm style great and although playing lead maybe a little more difficult than on a Strat or an LP the sounds are rewarding: pokey and obtruse. Cuts through the mix well.
I play through a Monster El Mariachi 15W Class-A amplifier. The signal runs through a Crybaby, Boss TU-2, Vintage Rat, Crowther Hotcake and a E-H Memory Man. The Hotcake is on pretty much all the time. I play indie style rock and the sound of the 620 fits in good. I also have a Les Paul Standard and a American Vintage '62 Reissue Stratocaster. The 620 reacts to overdrive somewhat differently to the other two. It gets a bit obnoxius and the harmonics are not balanced as, say, on an LP. It barks a bit more than it growls, but it still keeps a very tight low end and the highs come trough nice and smooth. I alternate between all three regularily for sounds.

This is the only guitar that I have ever owned that didn't need a tech job immediatly on arrival. Great action, fit and finish. No complaints. Actually alot better than Gibson or Fender can achieve! The finish is absolutely stunning!!!

Had it for half a year now. Only a few gigs to its name. I need a bit more time to evaluate this category.

Played for 13 years now and seen alot of guitars. This has absolutely the best build quality I have ever seen. I wish the neck was just a tad wider though. Other than that, I don't have any complaints. I didn't try the guitar before I bought it but now I wouldn't hesitate on buying another Ric without trying first. Great guitars! I was shopping for a 360 but absolutely fell in love with the bizarre body shape and the size of the headstock compared to the body. I had a good idea on what it was going to sound like. I was looking for that pokey sound and was not dissapointed. Recommended!!
