A few months ago I posted a review on this guitar and at the time I said some things about their customer support that were pretty negative. About a month ago I ran into a warranty problem with my guitar and I sent it to them for repair. The service I recieved from them was wonderful, they recieved my guitar, had it fixed and shipped back to me within a week and a half. The couple e-mails I sent them on to check on the progress and to get the UPS tracking number on the return shippment were ansewered in a days time and the ansewers were very curtious and helpful. Not to mention that when my guitar did get back into my hands is was as good as new.

I do know that I can't accually recind my previous comments, but the recent service I recieved did change my outlook on Rickenbacker guitars and their Customer support.

What this is is a 2000 made RIC solid body 650S-VH. This guitar comes with the Hi-Tek Vibrato bridge which is very nice however I've been told that I'll have to sdjust it to be able to pull back and raise the pitch on the strings. It has all gold plated parts, solid walnut "wings" on the body and headstock. One piece 24 fret maple neck running through the full length of the body. It really is a very attractive guitar. The finish is what they call a hand oiled natural finish, simply beautiful!! 1 volume and 1 tone control for each of the humbucking pickups.

This guitar really kicks. I play anything from folk to blues to straight rock. I've had absolutely no problems what so ever. I haven't felt the urge to pick up my Strat since I got this guitar. I do believe that a Strat may be a little more versitle, but who cares this one was made by human hands.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar came out of the factory packed box in excelent condition, no adjustments at all were needed. Everything was just fine. The craftsmanship is really extrodinary. My only complaint was the accompanying hardshell case has 2 loose latches, I'll blame UPS for that.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've only had it for about a month now but it really feels solid. I don't forsee ant problems.

My only downfall with RIC, I've e-mailed them twice since I bought this guitar and I'm still waiting for ansewers. I called once and they really sounded annoyed, I though since I just paid good money they might be interested in helping me out. I feel like I'm on my own with this guitar, and I'm probably better off.

I've been playing guitars for almost 15 years and I've played most of the major brands. I believe this guitar is far supperior to the Fenders and the Gibsons,m but that's just my opion. If it were to be misplaced or stolen I would get another one for sure. I do just wish the customer service was better.
