Small original bodyshape with a set neck. the top horn is longer than the bottom. 2 k&m passive pickups that sound really good, very highoutput but a little noisey. dual rocker tremelo, its not bad but a pain to change strings with. gotoh tuners. 2 volume knobs and 1 tone with 3 way toggle. very nice white pearl finish. a very comfy thinner neck. this guitar is very playable. molder case that says riverhead product of headway on it.

I play through a rivera knucklehead 100. it sounds great clean, very big jazz sound. i love the way the guitar sounds with some overdrive, but it tends to get noisey.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This guitar is suprisingly high quality. the fretwork is perfect. and the finish is thick nice paint. the guitar was out of wack when i got it but now its one of my favorites to play.

Reliability/Durability : 8
thus far the guitar has held up very well. its like a third backup but more of a part of my collection. everthing is well built and solid on this guitar. iwould have to say its a tank.

i did contact the headway company trying to find out some info on the guitar like the year it was made and model but there wasn't even a serial # on this thing. they wrote me back in japanese.

2 much gear to list
i don't think i could find another 1 if it were stolen. i've never even seen a picture of this guitar on the internet, after searching high and low and checking ebay every so often

a 22 fret small bodied guitar with a longer top horn and bottom cutaway.

2 Active K + M pickups and a locking dual rocker trem system which is lie a floyd rose but uses a cantilever system for gripping the strings at the bridge.. Japanese made around turn of the 80's.

There were 2 guitars from riverhead in the shop 'The Exceed' and this one which I think is an RV D2 or RV D6 something like that.

2 vol pots and a bass and treble boost / cut mounted on the front of the body.

Rosewood fretboard one piece neck.

Dont know what wood it is...what am I a lumberjack??lol

Metallic gloss dark grey finish

A really great all around sound...well balanced on clean and overdriven...not noisy or prone to feedback...but loads of sustain and tone. Used with various different amps/configs. Neck p/u a little light for really heavy jazz/blues

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Needed a tiny bit of tweaking when I got it but minimal after that. Replace the battery every year whether it needs it or not.

Reliability/Durability : 7
has withstood years of live gigs ...falling off stands and roadie misuse and abuse. couple of dents abut still a good looking machine.

Have used it without a backup numerous times...but if a string breaks it can be a pain taking the old one off and feeding thru the new one....only because of time constraints.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never had any contact

Overall Rating : 8
playing 28 years tons of gear owned not going to spend all day listing it. Love its durability and wide range of tones. I would love another one but have never even seen one.

Would love it with EMG's fitted which I did when the bridge pickup died as the originals couldn't be sourced. Maybe a Vai whammy the lo pro thing.
