This is a 2008 custom made left-hand Equire type guitar that is hybrid of Fender's prototype "Snakehead" Tele and the first production models. The guitar can be seen on his website in the "Esoteric" gallery, a fact that makes me quite proud. Standard Esquire type features, so very simple yet effective. Cannot say rnough about Ron's ashwood body on this guitar and the "Mary Kaye" type finish. He faithfully abides by the old methods of making guitars that most of the big name companies have cast aside, even on custom shop editions. To sum things up it's without a doubt the finest made electric guitar I have owned, and I have onwed a ton.

The sound is pure vintage with a twist. Ron did something (at my request) to cause a little bit of a quack to the tone and I love it. Sounds awesome through both my Fender and Marshall amps. Sounds great clean and overdriven. I mostly blues oriented rock.

So well made I think I'm ruined for big company factory type guitars. I cannot go back. Ron puts alot of care into the setup so it arrived ready to go and the action is nice and low how I like it. No buzzing. This guitar contains zero flaws.

What more can I say about the manufacture of the guitar. It was made with care. It wasn't rushed to be made per some forced schedule. I think every aspect of the instrument was given more personal attention by one person than I've ever known. Nuff said I hope....

Ron is great. I asked him to make me a guitar that met very specific specs I had in mind and I asked probably a thousand questions and he both called and e mailed me and was prompt to reply and did not seem put out by questions and comments. If I had asked another company to make this guitar I have no doubt that it would have taken three times (or more..) as long to get and been 4-5 times more expensive, and woul not have been as impressive.

I've been playing over 25 years. I've owned many lefty electric guitars that range from real junk to very fine, and I'd rank the Ron Kirn right up there at the top. I plan to buy more....
