The sound the guitar is capable of producing is what I was hoping for. The wood, the pickups and tone control features allow me to express myself as I wish. The deep round sound you'd expect to get from the neck pickup positions (5th and 4th) are as sweet as honey. The same could be said for the opposite end. The other end of the tonal spectrum enables me to cut through the band's overall sound when it's time to solo. I've tested it out with a few amps that modeling software already and this guitar rocks. Classic!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
TIGHT - this describes how it came shipped to me. No loose hardware, or poorly fit hardware or misaligned hardware. I thought that the factory setup was very good. I prefer the action to be a bit lower however.

Sparkling - the finish is what lured me in to begin with. The color is beautiful and the wood's natural grain shines through the emerald green finish.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I used the guitar in the studio not long after it came in. I brought along a backup (tele) but never went to it as I was having too much fun with this one. It sure seems like it will stand the test of time.

The support so far has been great. There was one glitch in the delivery - the trem bar was not included in the shipment (guitar came in a nice new tweed case) along with the extra spring hardware, 3 installed 2 spare). I hope to have that soon!

Overall Rating : 10
Wow, dealing with SPG has been a pleasure. I really felt that I was important to them as a customer and musician.

I've been playing most of my life and have been in bands in and around Boston MA for a number of years now. I've played various axes including
Gibson, Gretsch. Fender and Taylor. SPG ranks right up there.

I was shocked when I got this guitar on how amzing it is. I took the risk of contacting them directly because I frequent their web site alot and there custom work just looked real cool, so I gave them a shot. This guitar has a perfect vintage tone. The Amalfitano pickups just sound so sweet through my Vintage Fender tube amp. The clarity is crystal clear, perfect tones - not to bright, just right. I tried all kinds of volume and tone settings and this guitar just sounds right in the pocket.

The action is right on, even when I got this guitar, in a very nice tweed Hardshell case I must add, it was still in tune. I was very happy with the way this guitar looks - vinatge all the way. A real nice feel to the neck with a light satin finish and the flamed maple really looks and feels amazing. Perfectly done vintage nitro finish and the hardware (I don't know how they did it) were aged perfectly. Not too distressed, just right so the guitar can perform correctly. I'd say more of a "closet classic" and not a beat up relic. I've even noticed that since I've had this guitar for 4 months now the original rich looking surf green is almost settling to a shade lighter - it's relicing on its own!

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a players guitar. It's my go to axe and I get a lot of great comments on it. It looks like it's been around for a while but in pristine condition. It was exactly what I was looking for - I wanted something that was broken in, felt right, plays night after night and well worth the investment.

I haven't had the need to use Customer Support. I know they have a 3 year warranty. I always take care of my guitars anyway.
When I e-mailed first about the guitar I got an instant response. I'd say for a small custom guitar company they have their act together.

If you're looking for a custom vintage strat style guitar give this company a call. They got it down!! I'm very happy with my purchase - I was thinkng about getting another brand before I came across SPG Guitars and I'm glad a contacted them. This guitar is special and a one of a kind. There is nothing like it, simple but tons of character. You won't be disappointed
