The hardware leaves something to be desired on these guitars and all of it should be upgraded if you want to make a real player out one of 'em, but at this price point it's still an incredible deal.

Sound : 9
I was visiting Rondo's showroom in NJ a couple months before they closed and I found this guitar hanging on their sale wall. I took it down, threw it over my leg and was immediately impressed with how the guitar sounded acoustically. I was hooked. I've had it for quite some time now and I'm still blown away by the quality of the P-90's. They're articulate and full and very, very warm. I've replaced the pots and caps, but the pups are staying. I'm into blues and rock and this thing has that great ballsy rock and over-driven blues tone for days.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar needed a full setup just like every other guitar (Fender, Gibson etc) that I've ever owned. It could also stand a level, crown and polish on the frets, but again, at this price point, this guitar shown in this category as well. I didn't care for the actual color of the pickguard and cavity covers, but that's very subjective. The actual fit and finish was/is superlative. There isn't a flaw anywhere in the finish and it was put together extremely well - again as good as any more expensive guitar I've owned.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I don't play out currently, but I do believe that it would withstand the rigors of gigging without a problem. I would never gig with only one guitar. That's just asking for something to go wrong! :)

This guitar is rock solid and while the hardware wasn't of the best quality, it was solid enough. I've replaced most of it and will be replacing the rest soon, so it's a moot point. I do believe that you could gig this guitar right out of the box with nothing more than a complete setup and new strings.

The finish appears to be very thick an durable. I take really great care of my guitars so I'll never know how much a beating any of them could actually take.

Customer Support : 10
Rondo has monster customer support. This is my 5th purchase from them and they are just fantastic to work with. I had to return my 2nd purchase and they couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Other companies could learn a lot about how to treat their customers from Kurt and his folks. They also stock a lot of lefties, and I'm forever grateful to them for that as well. :)

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 30+ years and have owned a good number of name brand guitars. I am as pleased and satisfied with this guitar now after some basic hardware upgrades (pots, caps, switch and jack) as I have been in the past with any of the name brand guitars - all of which were at least 5 times as expensive. I've also played and owned the import lines from the two big brands as well, and I'm sticking with SX and Agile from hear on. If this guitar was lost or stolen, I'd replace it in a heartbeat with another just like it.
