A new twist since 2008 I have routed out the bridge pickup to fit a High Order A-2 Humbucker and now this guitar is a Rock~N~Rool monster.

Kent Armstrong P-90 in the neck and Bucker in the bridge.

Features : 5
Three piece, natural solid Mahogany
two soap bar P90 pickups
Two volume and two tone controls and a three way pickup selector
Mahogany set neck with adjustable truss rod
Rosewood fretboard with 22 jumbo frets
Dark Natural Finish

I wasn't expecting a lot out of this guitar... I was looking for a dedicated slide and wanted p90s. As for features, come on its a guitar with pickups... no automatic windows, it doesn't play itself.

Sound : 10
The sound blow me away... i was hoping to get a raunchy Hound Dog Taylor sound at best out of it. I was quite surprised, it sounded similar to a PRS I played and the neck feels great. It is the perfect blues guitar. i play it though a Vox AT30 and it transforms to any style of playing, though I mainly play blues, I think it could handly anything for Jazz to punk.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action was playable out of the box and intonation was spot on. Too bad I put 12s on it and raised the action for slide. I'm trying to figure out how to talk the mrs. into a 2nd one for regular playing.

The only "flaw" was that the pieces glued together to make the body formed a ridge, but the poly is so thick you can't feel it. Beautiful guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Very solid guitar, with 12s in open e the neck is doing great. Only had it a couple of weeks though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with but I hear they are spot on.

Overall Rating : 10
I would buy another even if this one wasn't stolen.

TV yellow paint, the only color offered when I ordered it, it has grown on me. It's basically a copy of a LP jr, pretty cheap Tune-O-matic bridge but does the job, no trem, tuners feel pretty good and it stays in tune quite good. The frets are as big as any I've ever seen. 2 tones, 2 volumes, 3 way switch and 2 nice P-90's.

Sound : 9
This is my first P-90 guitar and that's why I bought it, I love the sound, I've since bought another P-90 (Agile) I have several amps and I can get a nice sound out of all of them with these pickups. There is a little noise, but not much, quite a bit with my Marshall acoustic, and almost none with the Behringer GMX. The pick-ups sound best maxed out, but I think most guitars do.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The finish is good, a little off track around the binding on the neck, but mostly very nice. I took it out of the box, tuned it, played it, it was ok. I clean and restring every new guitar I get. Take all covers off, take a peek, (little stuff in the cavities), look at pots, wiring etc. Remove knobs and pick-guard to to polish everthing (GHS guitar polish) Put on new strings (10's), set intonation and action (the actions was really very nice) nice straight neck but very dry (lemon oiled that). The pick-ups needed more adjusting than anything else, but no big deal. New strings and set-up, this is an exceptional guitar for the money, I'm amazed at what you can get for a little over a hundred bucks.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
This guitar is not as heavy as a real LP or an Agile for that matter, but it is solid. At some point I may replace the bridge and nut, but I've been playing out with it, it's road worthy. I put strap locks on it just because I had them.

Customer Support : 10
Rondo music is great to deal with. I sent a guitar back 2 years ago, I just didn't care for it, no problem. I've emailed Kurt several times just to ask questions and he always responds in person usually within a day. Wish I lived a little closer to Jersey.

Overall Rating : 9
I'd put this in the same catagory as a middle of the road Epiphone, not the low end, and not the top of the line. It's simply a good guitar, for a $129.00 it's a great guitar..

The yellow satin finish on this here les paul style cutaway is a nice yellow. It is not to over powering like I thought it might be. I have no problem with the tune-o-matic bridge, as far as the tuners, they have there SX stamp on them. So far they are staying in tune as I play an seem to be ok. The neck is fatter than my strat's neck and I kind of like that. The jumbo frets, for me are a little different and will take some time to get use too. I really like the sound of the P-90 pickups, I have played strats all these years and the new sound is really cool.

Sound : 9
I play a lot of garage band type music, any where from metal to country rock. This guitar with the P-90 pick ups are ment to be played loud. It really sounds to my liking threw my Crate amp and Digitec processer. Once you tweek the knobs on the equipment and the guitar, one can make this guitar sound as good or better than the big $$$ guitars.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I like my action low on my guitars. This came right out of the box set up to my liking. For me nothing was loose on the guitar. Every thing worked like it should and for a guitar with a lower price tag, well it has good quality workmenship on it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I don't play live but what I have put it threw I would bet this guitar could stand up to the live stage. I think the hardware could stand in there too. The finish seems bullit proof as one reviewer put it. I know it will last. Had no problems with the strap buttons as of yet but if they come loose, elemers glue always works well. It has for me in the past on several other guitars. If one did not break a string or strings playing, then there would be no need for a back up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had to deal with the company as of yet. (rondo music) In my opinion I feel I will never have to with this guitar. I am sure they would really take care of there customers.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 8 years. I own a Fender acoustic, Ovation acoustic/electric, New york pro acoustic, New York pro electric strat style, and now this SX. Being a lefty, it was really had to find a guitar to fit my budget. Now I have found a store that has what I need. If this guitar were stolen, I would buy the same exact kind all over again. I really like it and the sound. I have played epiphone's at the bigger guitar chain store's, nothing bad about epiphones but I really love this SX. I took a chance buying a guitar off the internet, but read the reviews on any guitar you are buying, do your homework on it and go for it.

Les Paul Jr Copy, two p-90's, tune o'matic bridge, JUMBO frets, all mahogany, set. You have seen a million of these copied everywhere. Great features for $99.00!

Sound : 7
I bought this thing about 8 months ago, with the idea that I was buying a frame that I could build on. I changed the tuning keys, which weren't bad, but I tend to like the butterbean style keys for personal reasons so I changed those to grovers. The bridge is total crap, but for a hundred dollar guitar it's not bad. I'm planing on replacing the bridge and tail piece with a bigsby, as well as replacing the low end p-90's with something a little hotter, a richer. Most likely Duncan replacements. As for stock. It sounds pretty good, but it has huge frets. I tend to press hard when I fret and found that I was bending the strings toward the fretboard. So I replaced the strings with 12s and the sound improved by 10 fold!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action was perfect actually but I think it was set up by the store I bought from not the factory. It was set up really well over all. The nut is a little cheap plastic thing that had a couple of nicks in it and it also will be replaced. the finish however was beautiful. Really, for 100 buck you can't go wrong if you are a beginner. If you are more experienced player and can't afford a really Les Paul Jr. Then here is your chance to build one out of a good body and framework.

Reliability/Durability : 6
Actually no, I don't think it will last without a little set up and some important part being replaced. If you replace all the hardware and most of the electronics then it will be a beast that will last for the rest of your life. Otherwise it's a guitar that you can learn to play on and the replace.

Customer Support : No Opinion
no idea

I have been playing now about about 15 years. I curently a few old silvertone electrics and acoustics, a epiphone valve junior, and blues custom 30, a 1984 korean squire strat with texas special pick-ups. I would replace this guitar if it were stolen and mod it out as well. For the price it's hard to beat even after all the mods. I compared it to the fender 72 tele delux and honestly would have bought that one had it been closer to my budget.

This guitar is a good base to start off at!
Lefty Mahogany neck and body it is not a light guitar it runs around 9 pounds out of the box, finish is $99.00, tune-o-matic bridge was useable but replaced with a Tone Pros, tuners sucked, replaced with some used Grovers I had around the house. Replaced the nut with a bone nut at this point it was good to go!!
The pickups are something that amazed me raunchy Stones, Steve Howe early Yes tone, Black Crows, STP with my custom PTP wired EL-84 Bonepicker 18 watt amp, but need to be waxed started to squeal fast but what a tone and sound, I replaced them with Ken Armstrong P-90???s not as raunchy but didn???t squeal!!
At this point I replaced the switch and Pot???s now I have another $200 into it so now It is a $300.00 guitar that I will never part with!!

The neck is FAT and that is the way I like my necks I use Warmoth Boat cut necks on my Strats and Telecasters this neck fits the same way, all SX guitars come with Jumbo fret wire and I love the feel after I did a light grind and polish a set of DR 11???s and I was in Allman brothers Gov Mule grounds.

Sound : 8
Like I stated above sounds Stones raunchy, killer with EL-84 based amplifiers!!
I run this with my Bonepicker 18 watt head, digital reverb, Joe Gagen Nine Volt Nirvana Dinosaur Fuzz, that???s all it needs at this point it does Jazz very well with the P-90???s!!
I play Blues, Jazz Rock, Country and Metal R&B Funk just like it all.
This guitar now has long sustain and gets that pick harmonic thing going easy.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
This guitar came shipped good but the strings came with rust and finger board was filthy as others have stated, the neck grain on my guitar was good no run off or twists I think I will not buy another as your luck could run out the next time and wind up with a Lemon, stuff made in China is like Russian Roulette hit or miss.
As stated by others as well the finish between the neck Pup and neck butt is SNAFU, neck to body joint has a little filler but sturdy.

Reliability/Durability : 6
After the changes this Ax is bomb proof I would Gig no problem but still have a back-up.
I only gave this a 6 as I based this on the original guitar that was shipped, I would not depend on the original hardware or tuners.

Customer Support : 10
Kurt at RONDO is the Boss!!

The finish on my GGR is gloss two tone, body is single cutaway LP style, tune-o-matic bridge 2006<made in China Solid flat top, 2 volume 2 tone, 2 P 90 style pickups, maple body and neck

Sound : 9
I play classic rock, blues, gospel, country, jazz and celtic. This guitar will do just fine for most of these styles. I use depending on this size of the room, an ampeg 112 reverbrocket,a peavy 112 valve king or the valve king 100/w 4 12 cab, or a line 6 2 12 spider. The pickups are P 90 so they will be a little noisy like any other P 90. Right out of the box the pickups bark, like your single coil strat, but has a more full tone, plenty of sustain, insane sustain, killer sweet tone when needed, if you know how to work your amp and volume you know what I mean. No way to dislike this guitar, for 100.00 and get this kind of axe, please! Oh, but it's not a Gibson, so what. I own some of those also.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Ok I ordered this guitar because of the testiments people have left, here is the deal with this guitar, right out of the box the action was a little high, now when I say high I don't mean you couldn't play it that way, as a matter of fact it's perfect for slide and lead, if you have any experience at all, intonation was and (for all you negatives out there), was perfect. And this aint my first rodeo with tune-o-matics, this guitar had a few flaws a spot here a speck there it's a 100.00 guitar! And I mean that with respect to fact that the last Gibson I played off the wall was a piece of junk. American guitar makers WAKE UP! I hate to say this but Asians have made musical instruments longer than America has existed, and you might sell more of them if you would stop being so greedy?

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is built like a tank, I am going to run it through alot of play time before it gets there, oh by the way after bending, picking and wailing on the strings, it stayed in tune, go figure. The finish will wear off just like my Standard Gibson Les Paul, Strat, Gibson SG and my other guitar have because I intend to play it. Strap buttons are large and seem to be worthy. I will use this guitar as one of my main guitars, I never gig without backups.

Customer Support : 10
I fix and repair my guitars, however Rondo is a top notch company, I just wished they would move to North Carolina. They are friendly and willing to help.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 40 years, I own 2 standard gibson lps a gibson SG, 2 fender strats and a tele, schecter c1+, 2 samick avion 3s,custom made roscoe, squire espire, 3 agile lp style guitars, 1 epi les paul, a blueridge jumbo, alvarez dreadnaught AD 62 SC, a epi J200, yamaha FG 150, at this time. If lost or stolen I would buy another, this is a nice guitar really, just clean the neck, set the way you like and you have a functional working axe. I always compare guitars and there are some great ones out there, if you have the money go buy yourself a really expensive guitar, don't freak if you get a ding on that really small stage, this guitar will do the job just as well and to most people in the audience your high dollar guitar want sound any better.

Single cutaway Les Paul Jr. Style, 2 P-90 pickups, wood supposedly mahogany..it certainly is heavy. Solid body. Purchased mine in early 2005, so I've had it about a year and a half.

2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way, made in China. Came with a truss rod wrench.

Non-locking tuners which appear to have some very thin and cheap shiny finisn on them which I figured would wear away in 2 weeks, but so far has not.

Has everything it's supposed to have, expect for one of those rhythm/treble things around the 3 way.

Sound : 8
I play mostly classic rock. Most this guitar is played though a homemade 5 watt tube amp and a 10" GE speaker from back in the 50's. Real old school stuff.

I've got it strung, currently, with a set of Fender Flats, 13-52. It positively roars, it actually has TOO much sustain with these strings.

Despite the advertising, I find the treble response a bit inarticulate. In general, it's a very midrangy guitar, lots of sass and snottiness to it.

If you think of the classic P-90 recordings, Leslie West, and then Pete Townshend on Live at Leeds, this guitar does an excellent job as hitting those sounds.

As I've got it currently, it sustains too much to get the sort of clean chimney tones you might get from a strat.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Factory set up was dismal. Pickups were well adjusted.
The wood and the finish are beautiful...this is an excellent LOOKING guitar.

Jack is loose.

Reliability/Durability : 8
The finish on the metal is holding up MUCH better than I had ever imagined it would.

The tuners also FEEL cheap, and I keep expecting them to go south at any time, but after a year and a half, they still hold tune fine.

Impression is that it is not durable, however, the experience to date indicate that it is.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Who knows?

Overall Rating : 9
Been playing for over 30 years, have owned a ton of gear over the years.

I've really got to hand it to SX and Rondo Music for bringing us this much guitar at this price point.

I've also got an SX SST-57 Strat copy...meh...for the price the old Peavey Predators are a far better deal, but these GG1JR's do a very nice job at filling a particular niche that no one else is really trying to fill. They are pretty, and unique and unusual, in both looks and sound. I've always wanted a P-90 solidbody, and in general I'm very happy with this choice.

If stolen, I'd replace it in a heartbeat.
