I want to upgrade my opinion of this guitar, as I have grown more and more fond of it. I have 3 guitars, but I play this one the most now.
The tuners were loose out of the factory, the guitar wouldn't stay in tune. I tightened them up tight, and now they hold ok. I was going to upgrade to Grovers or something better than stock, but I don't think I have to. I added new strings, they weren't properly put on. (1 under, 3 over, that helped lock it.. now it stays in tune.)
Sound
:10
I've got the pick-up height very close to the strings now, and the sound I get from that set-up is very cool. Nice heavy metal sound. Way better than the price I paid, trust me. I have it set to very low action, and the string buzz is not so bad, but I don't play very high on the neck too often either...
To be honest, I haven't tried to get many sounds from the pickups, I did move the neck pick-up away from the strings, but I didn't like it so I moved it back.

It wasn't set up well, but who cares? Under $200 for this, I'll gladly do it myself. The tuning pegs were too loose, as I mentioned before. They had to be tightened a lot.
It's a nice looking guitar and I'm getting more and more attached to it over time.

I've had it for a month of playing time I guess, it seems very solid.

I've been playing since the late 1970s. I never really played a lot though, off and on. But I'm starting to get back into it.
I own a Yamaha acoustic, an Agile 3000, and this one. I like them all, or I probably would have smashed them by now.
Great guitar, but remember for $250 or so with the case, you will have to do some of the set-up yourself, or pay someone to do it.

It's a nice looking guitar, a couple of finish flaws on the neck.
The tuners though, aren't very good. They need to be upgraded, I'm looking at upgrading them real soon.
It's made in China.
Sound

The sound is good for the price I guess.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The set up was not good, I had to work on it a bit to get it to play correctly. (3-4 hours set up time, but I'm not a pro either)
I haven't adjusted the pickups yet, though I think I'll try raising one set a little.
The tuning peges aren't great as I stated above.
Reliability/Durability
:8
It seems solid. I bought this for the rep on the body of these, and it isn't too shabby, I wish the flaws I had weren't there, but it's decent anyway.

No opinion, except to say that the guitars are shipped very quickly after payment(from www.rondomusic.com)

I've been playing since the 1970's off/on. I got this because I had had good luck with rondomusic.com in the past. (Agile 3000, vnice guitar)
If it was stolen, I'd probably get something else, spend a little more and get something that doesn't need upgrading.

Nice, not as yellow as the pictures, amber on the flamed maple top, and on the mahogany back, sides, and neck/headstock. Short horn PRS body style, set neck. One piece PRS/SG Jr. style bridge. Deluxe Grover style SX brand tuners. All gold hardware. Neck is 13.5" radius and thin, but slightly wider than strat or RG. 24.7" scale, China, 2006, 22 jumbo nicely finished frets. Probably a laminated flamemaple top, but I don't know for sure. Black neck binding and creme body binding with creme gold HH rings. Recessed gold plastic speed knobs for 1V1T 3way switch. Probably SEM China 57 PAF copy PUs. Arch top, standard LP type output jack. Rosewood fretboard with abalone bird inlays and abalone SX at headstock. Black 1 screw partial ellipse trussrod cover-black. Came with wrench. I ordered case with it and got it all shipped for $26. SX KY1 CUS 22

I play acid rock/blues/metal and it is very good on my Carvin, Behringer, and Laney halfstacks. Used straight in and with flange, reverb, delay effects, hi-gain and clean. No noise at all. More of a rich and full sound, with limited brightness on the bridge PU increased with treble. It doesn't have a whammy or back bridge to mess with, but it does fine on metal/blues. The one piece PRS style bridge is intonated OK even with a slight tip. It is beautiful, and relatively light, and sounds very smooth.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
The setup was good and action just right, pickups at good height. The amber flamed maple was not perfectly bookmatched but looks great anyway. No flaws at all. Everything is tight(except the deluxe Grover style tuners, which I always tighten for a lot less slip). Frets smooth. slight tip to one piece bridge.
Reliability/Durability

Yes indeed. The hardware is nice with thick gold plating. The finish is thick and gorgeous. Buttons solid and big enough. It could gig w/o a backup, but I always like several guitars (and amps!). My only concern is the one piece bridge over time. I may have to reset it and maybe shim it sometime in the future.

32 years(out of the past 41), this is guitar #30. 11 amps of various kinds, numerous effects. If stolen, I'd track down and butcher the thief, I'm no vegetable, so it would not get lost. I don't really hate anything about it. Sure, I would like a roller wilkie on it and coil splitter, but then it would be too similar to my Malden Stiger, and it would cost more. I love the abalone bird inlays of the "poor man's PRS", and the amber is beautiful with the gold, on the flame maple and the mahogany neck and archtop body. Sounds very nice, fast neck.

Made 2006 China paid $205.00 with Shipping
22 Frets
Mahogany Body with an Amber Tiger Maple flamed Top PRS copy Type
1 Volume 1 Tone 1 Pick-up Switch Seector
H/H
SX designed Pickups
Body - 3 piece Mahogany with Tiger Maple Top Carved 1.5" on edges, 2" in center single cut PRS style - very unusual and interesting
Neck - 2 piece mahogany woth Roasewood Fretboard and Abalone Bird Inlays
Amber Flame Top
Stop tailpiece type bridge
Cheap SX brand tuners
Neck/Scale - jumbo frets and I believe a 24.7" scale - VERY FAT NECK LIKE THE OLD TELE/GIBSON/STRAT Styles
No accessories included
I give it a six becuase the bridge and the tuners are crap
Sound
:9
Teh sound is a bit brighter than my AL2000 LP but has a lot of mid for lead cut through. All in all right out of the box it sounds pretty good in all switch positions. I'll probably replace the pickups not because of their soiund but becuase they're Gold hardwaer
Action, Fit, & Finish
:5
Set-up - don't care - adjustment is expected from a guitar in the PRS style high actions. I adjusted to wher I have minimal (but still have) buzzing on certain frets (A string 14th fret to 21st) B string (17th to 20th fret) the strings suck too.
The Bridge actually had shapr edges on the saddles - I had to file them down just to play it and they are still an issue.
Pickup adjustment - the bridge pup is real close to the strings - after I
Top of guitar looks great (if you like Amber which is really growing on me) Teh bridge only has two poles and they seem to be aligned correctly
the bird inlays have some space between the birds ad the fret board (they didn;t fill in the space with epoxy) I have some problems with fret buzz as explained earlier
the Bird Inlays are AWESOME!! They're real abalone and they are nice!!
the tuners and the bridge were pitted and on their way to being rusted. The etire guitar was totally dusty out of the box. It looks like SX doesn't understand the guitar/guitarist relationship and they only care about production
the frets buzz at a higher level of action than I like and it's a real issue - A string 14th -21st fret, B string 17th - 21st fret.
the setup is not in anyway as close as I like to play. this would be a great rhythm/blues guitar with high action but for leads it's lacking the action I like.
I give it a five only because the finish and the bird inlays hold the score up
Reliability/Durability

this guitar will not withstand live playing becuase of the tuning pegs. they such and squeqk when you turn them. the bridge doesn't fit in the pole (it's thinner than the pole slots giving is a canterleave angle).
The bridge and the tuners need replacing - the switch, input jack and volume/tone hardware are fine (I'm not that picky)
The Strap buttons are fine but will be replaced with locking strap buttons anyway.
I'm not sure whether I can depend on it just yet.
I would never use any guitar on a gig without a backup

I don;t want to send it back becuase it'll cost me $45.00 in shipping but I do ad have anlways liked Rondo Music's support. this is the first SX but I've already purchased an AL2000 from them that's great.
teh warranty is 1 year.

I've been playing for 25 years,
I have an Agile Al2000 Les Paul, an Oscar Schmidt Delta King 335, a 1982 Ibanez Destroyer 2 X Series, an Ibanez RG320DXQM, a rare Jackson KellyPro2, a Fender Fat Strat a Peavey Ultra Plus Head and Peavey 4x12 cabinet, two Genesis3 modeling effects units, an Ampeg SS140cc with 2x12 cab.
I'm not sold on buying another one of these if lost or stolen but the guitar is very interesting.
I hate the poor quality control and cheap hardware that berings the whole experience down. I chose this guitar for it's bird inlays and unique shape.
I compaed this to the AL2000, the Delta King and other less than $200.00 guitars and this one is a little disappointing.
this guitar would be great with Grover tuners and a better bridge
