Made in China, rumors of wild standard of quality abound. Mine showed up three days after ordering from Rondo with the P90 pickups floating loosely as if nobody had every screwed them down....possibly both came unscrewed during shipping? Not a real problem - fixed in seconds. Body and neck feel solid not cheap. Attempts at tightening the rattling buzzing intonation/adjustment screws in the bridge failed and entire bridge was quickly replaced. One of the tuners makes a scraping sound when turned so those may get upgraded also. Neck scale 25.5" feels great and tail fin is huge!!! Frets are perfect.

Sound : 10
P90s actually sound great - more raw powered-Gibson style than smooth or sophisticated. Not too noisy as some have claimed. Mahogany fretboard on a Maple neck with alder body always sounds great. Jammed with Marshall 18watt clone, Mesa boogie Mark IV, Fender Pro-Jr, and Mini Vox Pathfinder all sound great. Very versatile guitar. I've not had much experience with Jaguars or Jazzmasters and I expect that with hot P90s and a stop tail bridge this guitar probably doesnt have much in common with them tonewise.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Out of the box the setup was actually playable. It came with 9's but I quickly switched to 10's. The pickups needed slight adjustments (and attaching) but not much. The finish was perfect. One unusual thing is that the dark mahogany neck leaves my fingertips blackened after playing. What the heck???

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've been using at rehearsal for a couple weeks, and have spent some time with it in the studio and i think its really a great guitar. For $129 and a couple upgrades this is a great deal and a guitar that should last a long time.

Haven't dealt with the company but ordering was simple fast and shipping info was updated regularly. Theres tons of information on this company at the agile forum so i would check there before contacting the company directly.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive got a bunch of other guitars and I had never bought one online before. When youre in a store and trying out strats you can play five of them and not find one you like or some will always seem better than others. Buying a guitar without playing it beforehand seems kinda crazy but for such a low price it seemed like a fun experiment. I love this guitar now and feel lucky how well it worked out and am considering buying another!!!

Beautiful sunburst finish NOT ONE FLAW......Nice, straight neck, 1 tone, 1 volume control, 2 P90 pickups, Jagmaster clone with stop tail bridge, nice feel to the neck. Inlays are dot and look like a cheap plastic or something.

Sound : 10
The sound is INCREDIBLE.....just what I hoped for. Kinda like a Telecaster/SG/LP using the middle pickup position...nice bell-like tone. I mostly use the middle position anyway. The neck pickup is equally clear, strong and definitive. Bridge pickup is slightly trebly, less bottom but still clear sounding NO MUDDINESS TO BE FOUND!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action on mine needed to be adjusted a little and pickups height also needed a little raising. It was pretty much playable right out of the box. Bridge was fine, no rattles. Tuners were a little loose so I just toghtened up the adjusting screws and they're fine....stays in tune pretty good. Finish is very beautiful....shiny smooth nice wood.

Reliability/Durability : 10
VERY durable, not cheaply made.....unbelieveable value for the price ($129) The tuners are a little boogity woogity but should last a while. Finish seems tough.....Strap buttons solid.....i totally depend on it and I gigged with it the VERY FIRST DAY I got it! I continue to gig with it. Don't need backup.

I have been playing for about 25 years on and off.....I know a good guitar from a bad one. The SX guitars are well made, attractive, durable. I also own a Gibson SG, Epi Les Paul Classic, Washburn OE30 semi holloe body, and a few other no names....the SX SJM62 is becoming my favorite guitar. If it got stolen I would no doubt buy another. I love pretty much everything about it except the only minor "flaw" is the cheap-o dot inlays....they look like crappy plastic dots.....everything else is top notch.....This is the stop tail version. I have read many horror stories of the model with tremolo arm being a real nuisance. I heard more bad than good so I opted for the stop tail. I wish it had trap inlays!!!!!! I replaced the cheap plastic knobs with some chrome knurled telecaster-type knobs.

This guitar suits most of my musical styles, those being blues & 70's throwback rock.
I use it mostly for my own entertainment, with an old department-store solid-state amp (which actually sounds pretty darned good for what it is). I use Digitech 'Bad Money' OD pedal, Digitech 'Hot Head' distortion pedal, and an Arion chorus pedal.
Having single-coil pickups means that there is some hum inherent. Perhaps some shielding will help there. It's just what you put up with to have P-90 tone, and it's not really very bad at all.
I can get sounds ranging from Tele bridge-pickup twangy snarl to Strat-ish neck-pickup tone (good for blues), but backing off the tone control yields some nice darker tones, as well. A pretty wide variety of tones is available with this guitar.
I like most everything about this guitar. The pickup switch would have been better placed somewhere else than right below the strumming path, though. I've hit it on several occasions. I'm not really fond of the cream-colored pickups and knobs against the white pickguard, but I can change any of that easily enough. I love the guitar's tones and its playability. It's like playing a Fender, with Gibson P-90 tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Factory setup was not to my liking, but not too far off. It took only a few minutes to get it there. Pickups were'nt adjusted for output balance, but again, a couple of minutes, and I had it set up right.
Neck pocket fit is very close and precise. Nice job on that. Everything seems to fit very well with no visible 'oopses' anywhere. The finish on this thing is gorgeous. Three-color sunburst, very well applied and buffed out to near-perfection. I spent some time loking it over very carefully, and found not one visible flaw in the finish. It's really very good, if a bit thick. I really love the 'aged' look of the finish on the neck, too. All the controls seem to be properly tightened, no pickguard buckling up anywhere, the frets appear to be very well dressed-out; no sharp ends out of the fingerboard. It's all fitted-up very well. Strap buttons appear very solid and substantial.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I'd not hesitate to play out with this guitar! The hardware seems stout, the finish is definitely sturdy if maybe a bit thick. Strap buttons seem fine to me. I think this is a dependable guitar, but I'd never gig without a backup, no matter what my primary guitar is.

Customer Support : 8
Not sure about the warranty, etc., but I've heard great things about the support from Rondo Music (the importer/seller).

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing (primarily bass) for nearly 30 years, most of that in church groups. If this guitar were stolen, I'd buy another without qualms. I'm absolutely thrilled with this instrument, and I won't even add the qualifier 'for the price...because it's a nice guitar, price notwithstanding. My favorite feature is the P-90 pickups. Maybe they're not quite what you'd get with genuine Gibson P-90's, but they're as close as any non-Gibby P-90's as I've ever heard to the 'real deal'. My only wish is that they had put the pickup switch in another place, like back by the T/V knobs.
If anyone would like to contact me directly for more detailed impressions about this guitar, please, feel free!
