Made in Japan. Don't know for sure the production year, I think it's early RS model. Surf green, Shell pearloid pickguard, Rosewood fingerboard on maple neck, S-S-S Sadowsky pickups, Wilkaloid nut, kluson tuners, vintage style bridge,Top quality gigbag, certificate of authenticity(very impressive!)

Sound : 8
The pickups. Neck pu is very versatile. You can switch from jazzy to bluesy feel instanly. Mid and bridge pu's...kinda weak though. But they still sound better than standard fender strat pickups or texas special.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Awesome! way better than ordinary strats. Head to head to their CS fender, quality and playability-wise. Took sometime to set up the strings action at first, but hey..don't all strats always been like that?

Reliability/Durability : 9
Solid! it'll last forever.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't experienced contacting them.

I've been playing guitars since i was 12 years old. 10 years as a professional in the music industry and education. So many strats, this Sadowsky RS is the best strat model guitar I'd ever have. I love to spend every single of my daily time with it. This guitar is the answer for strat lovers.

Most important issue, at the time of buying this guitar, i have maybe 3-4 choices for me to choose :- a fender standard strat, used fender CS strat, crew's maniac sound bottom up (another high end strat copy)i try to play all these guitars carefully.

Bottom end got the sweetest sound, sweeter that a sadowsky and a fender, but too sweet for me, it's a ideal choice for playing broken chord stuff, will perform well in studio, but not a good choice for playing on stage.

Both fenders had their standard quality but both got a poor finishing and neck polishing works, lots of fret dressing marks
neck is not stright, a wider neck profile.
sound is not quiet PUs output are not balanced, you have to carefully adjust your picking strength to compensated a balanced sound.

Sadowsky got a good balance from all of the aspects, it can be sweet and can dial in a screaming tone which can travel a long distance without fade out, at the time of testing this sadowsky, i can still able to pick out my dry sadowsky sound stood from 30 feet away with 2 metal guitars roaring in between (i am just using a 50W combo tube amp for testing with moderate volume level)
extremely wide sonic range can be dialed in with ease, slightly change in right hand picking position and picking angle can altered the sound a lot. 2 and 4 position can produce a sweet, glass like tone perfect for playing funky chord stuff, position 5 can be firggin sharp a very outstanding sound.

6 strings were well balanced both for tone and sustain. it's a kind of joy to hear the sadowsky sound and basically this guitar can be easily think of a good fender sound playing in front of you with your eyes closed.

This is a dream gear for session players that need all kinds of trademark fender sound and this sadowsky can be dial in without problems.

1 drawback through: the pickups still sound "new" but that's ok.

typical japanese high quality standard, nothing fancy, you got all you need, finishing is good as ibanez, i like the satin finishing at the back of the neck, there's no "sticky" hand feel as you found in fender lines, neck is ruler stright, accurate innototation, no bends no wraps, frets sit in their slots well, blending strings with extreme ease, there's plenty of room to low down the strings towards fingerboard without fret buzz, but i don't think it is necessary.

not a single fret dressing marks, body finishing is flawless, no dents no straches finishing can withstand a lot of playing time without being damaged.

Reliability/Durability : 10
yes, i bring this guitar to some professional players and all comment good or better than a fender with the same price paid, soild enough to last for a long long time, i have faith in this

Customer Support : No Opinion
yes it got a 1 year warranty (domestic only)
but i never have any problems with japanese guitar before and i think i will never need any technical support

haha dome day of fender is comming close
what a shame that sadowsky tokyo did not make them anymore, you need to spend some time in the net looking for these good guitars. Now they only made metro line which is far more expensive and limited choices supplied (Tele only)
try one, hear one, play one, feel one you won't be disappointed.

A 2002 made japan built vintage strat type guitar of the well known luthier from the 70's Yoshi Kikushi. The strat contains the same spec as Roger's vintage type and also have the same finish Body made og alder and a maple neck with very nice rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets. looks like a 12" radius. It gots Sadowsky's standard vintage tremolo and gotoh kluson tuners. Sadowsky standard SSS pick-up configuration. I got 2 pcs, one -59 vintage sunburst and one LP blue. Both shows nice handwork and exelent finish. They came with a "hard" quality bag.

Sound : 10
I put myself in a circle of different amp and started with the new Traynor 40W combo. Holy moses what a sound!!! Those pickups is the best s.coils I ever tried. The round warm and rich sound is still "twangy" but it is so much more that in fact this guitar will work as a alround guitar for almost any style. The neck is fast, and you don't have to spend time to get used to it before take it to a gig. The bassresponce that I often miss on strat type guitars is well representet in every pick up configuration, and you can actually "dive-bomb" this strat without getting out of tune. For the price this is a best buy!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Everything was great at the arrival. Nothing to adjust exept for the trem wich I liftet a half note. Exept from that I just have to repeat myself....PERFECT!!

Reliability/Durability : 10
As I said before. This guitar lives up to be an alround guitar who fits almost any style. And knowing Sadowsky for 15 years make me know that this toy's last forever and ever. They looks solid and everthing is thight.

Customer Support : 10
Never needed. Roger always gives fast answers and offers great support. Never disapointed me.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 20 years now. Different styles and on different gear. Use my old strat and a Warmoth custom built telecaster. This guitar is richer and more of everything, and will fro sure set my old strat to rest.
