'07 semi-hollow, violin burst. I was lucky enough to find one used in mint condition. Made in japan, two pickups, master tone, master volume, pickup selector switch. Stunning finish, a real looker. very well balanced, Roger really did his homework when he designed this baby.
I had the pickups replaced with lollars after i bought it, and it sounds killer now, just perfect.
Jason Lollar really knows what he is doing.

I play a whole bunch of styles, mostly standards, latin, and carlton type stuff. It has the unique quality of having a nice jazz tone in the neck, as well as a great tone for blues, and rock with the bridge pickup. I have owned 335's, heritage's, and several other semi-hollows, and this one has the best balance of the two tones. i have it strung with dr 11's. I experimented with 10's, 11's and 12's, and the 11's were the most versatile.
I took it to a gig recently, and the bandmates were knocked out by it. I used to take a big jazzbox, along with my other semi-hollow, and now i just take the sadowsky. The jazz tones with the 11's isn't a perfect GB tone, but it's pretty darned good. I would have no problem taking that strung with the 11's to a straight-ahead jazzbox gig.

This guitar didn't have any flaws at all, period. I have the strings sitting right on the frets, and there isn't a single dead spot of buzz to be found. Just astounding.
The bookmatched top is just stunning, a real looker.

I'm sure this axe will last for a lONG time. The finish is very durable. it is a real treat to own an axe with this nice of a finish. i have owned eastman and heritage guitars (in addition to some other ones), and this finish is way nicer. No gummy feel like the other axes.
I plan on taking this guitar exclusively to gigs. Just change the strings when needed.

Have emailed Roger a few times, and he always get right back to me. Seems like a great guy to do business with.

I have been playing off and on for the last 35 years. I own a Hamer newport pro (nice axe, but a whole different vibe from this one), a strat, and a big jazzbox. I am planning on selling the newport and the jazzbox as soon as the weather breaks. it is that nice of a guitar.
this guitar fills an important niche for the working guitarist who doesn't want to carry around a bunch of guitars. This is probably the best guitar purchase i have ever made.

Brand New 2008 model. Made in Japan, but inspected/perfectly set up by Sadowsky in Brooklyn, NY. It is an arched semi-hollow, laminated top and back, really beautiful sculpted internal block. 2 Sadowsky pickups, 22 frets, mahogany neck. Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece. Neck is a really comfortable medium thin flat C. Comes with great case, Sadowsky polishing materials and strap locks. Frets are medium, very smooth. Their website says they took their Jimmy Bruno jazz archtop and slimmed it down as the recipe for this model.

I would start of by saying this is an acoustic guitar that has very nice electronics. I realize a 1 3/4" guitar isn't really a pure acoustic, but it feels very airy and open. It is most likely due to the spruce internal block that is minimal, giving the guitar lots of room to breathe. It is not like a 335 chunk of wood that really has mostly just an electric personality. It has very well defined sounds across the the various pickup combinations, nice tight mids and highs, and can really get a sweet classic jazz tone as well. Hard to find a tone that isn't great. It reminds me of my very old ES330 because it feels alive agaist your body when you get a nice sustain or mild feedback.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This is an area where Roger Sadowsky is known to have few equals. When I bought it, the store guy asked if I wanted it set up, and we both looked at each other for a second till we realized what a pointless exercise that would be and cracked up laughing. It is a perfect joy to play right out of the box.

Reliability/Durability : 10
We shall see. It was built for the gigging guitarist, so it must be strong.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know, would use the store as first line support, or I could just drive to Brooklyn.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been at it too long, 40+ years. I can finally afford some of these nicer guitars. I am very pleased with the instrument, and can recommend it heartily. Hope it never gets stolen.
