Not sure of when it was made, but made in Korea. 24 fret, 1 vol, 1 tone, 5 way sel. and CT. Pickups are Samick, as well, with what sounds like passive wiring. Finish, is...well, clear, and pretty as crap to look at. Floyd Rose bridge (not to fond of, but whatever) with trem system (not to fond of, either). Still, something great to look at, in this category...

I play pop punk, and this guitar was damn near made for it. Crunchiest sound I've heard in a while (other then tweaking my old Cort). For now, I'm using my Crate GX-30 with gain on about 7, and crap does it sound amazing. It does come with the trem system, but i just took of the bar because it just gets in the way.

I got it from a pawn shop, and the dork who had it before had stripped out where the springs were held down, so that was a pain, but i got it fixed. Also the "new" strings were beat-up pretty bad, but i snagged a set while he was bragging about how much he knew about guitars. I played with the bridge and the action is perfect...super low but no buzz. I can give credit to the appearance of the body and neck...very nice.

Reliability/Durability : 9
As for a live show, maybe. The weight is a huge factor (quite heavy), but it could hold up if my other 2 guitars were smashed in the van. The bridge is a little weird at times, but thats due to the trem system, and to be expected. If i were forced to play it on stage, i would, although i would prefer not to. not because it may break, but its just so damn pretty!

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall, very happy. I've been playing for about 4 years, so i have a rough idea of what to look for in a guitar. I got it with a hard body case and funny look from the shop owner because of my lip ring. obviously one of the best things is the clear body, but the sound was suprisingly good for the price. i was a little pissed to find the bridge in such distress, but with a pack of cigarettes, a screwdriver and some patience, it was fixed. cant wait to take it to the studio and really give it some true tests. now...go buy this guitar and cream your pants over the looks and sound! late...

Bought in 6/99. Totally clear body, maple neck, 24 frets, rosewood fretboard, S/S/H configuration with 5 way switch, 1- volume and 1 - tone pots and coil tap (or phase switch??) PU's are Samick, Licensed Floyd Rose Trem w/ tune-amatic brige and locking nut. All hardware is Bright Gold finish. Tuners..havent looked at who made them but are high quality, solid feel, medium gear ratio. Body is totally see thru lexan or plexiglass (i.e. vintage Ampeg/Dan Armstrong guitars) Pickups are direct mount so no pickguard. The body shape is a fairly typical double cut away shred shape....however the edges are radiused and the main body has a slight arch to it...making this guitar beyond beautiful to see. Obvious corners were taken...I think the fret inlays could actually be stickers....instead of mother of pearl. And if I am not careful any scratch...would be totally noticable..and maybe the only way to fix..is to buff it out.

Sound : 10
I use this mainly for gigging. Usually top 40 cover stuff, some pyrotechnic playing just to have fun. I have a 140watt Peavy Heritage w/2x12s thru a compressor, delay, wha-wha, zoom 505, and self amplified heil talk box. This Samick guitar is so dense, even playing it unplugged...there is such a huge difference than playing my other solid bodies. The sustain is great and anything from super bright to muddy and warm...is right there..either with changing pickups and/or the tone control. My ONLY dislike..is the weight It's a little heavier than a Les Paul (which was a big reason i stopped playing them)

Everything about this was pretty great when i got it. I changed the spring tension on the tremolo and ran three springs straight across instead of the typical...triangle configuration. I set the trem up to give me alot of room for up-bends (oh the bridge is completely recessed so you can "up" whammy until your strings just rip the neck off) As for finish..its totally clear!!!....anything you wear behind it....is its color...although the other model of this guitar (when i bought it there were 2 to choose from)had some serious scratches..and those show up really bad. the scuplting and overall shape...make it look more like a big piece of jewelry than a guitar. Everything was good to go when I brought it home...and its all holding up fine

Reliability/Durability : 9
out of all my guitar collection...(12 or so, including Fender, Steinberger, Ibanez, PRS) This would be my first choice if I could only pick one to play a gig with. The neck radius and fret height are sooo comfortable and you can just play any where on the neck and it sounds great. Stays in tune really well too. I put a locking strap on..mostly cause if i ever drop this..and scratch it..i'm gonnna cry.

I've been playing since 1976, and playing in bar bands since 1978. I have guitars. drums, keys, PA system 4 track cassette (infinite track laptop PC) This purchase was just a matter of seeing this guitar hanging up....and wiping out my pants...and buying it. It was one of those "I must have this!" decisions. And I still weasled the dealer to give me a discount. Every gig we play...someone comments on THIS guitar. I have played alot of gigs and NEVER has a guitar gotten so much attention.
All i really knew about Samick was the ads in all the guitar mags...about actually making most of the guitars in the world....and I guess they couldnt be saying it if it isnt true. The quality and playability...as well as just being so damn pretty....a really different guitar...has convinced me that Samick really can and do make highy quality instruments.
