The action on this guitar was perfect right out of the box. It also has a four band configuration and a built in tuner.

Sound : 10
Although this guitar sounds great by itself, it has a remarkable sound when plugged in. Great guitar for its price.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9

Reliability/Durability : 10
Although I am a bit rough on my guitars (traveling from church to church and on youth trips), it has really stood the test of time the four months I have had it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know ... I've never had to call.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for around 8 years and have owned everything from a Harmony acoustic to a 2,000 ovation acoustic-electric. Of the 5 I have purchased and the countless others I have played, this has been my 2nd favorite (right after my ovation and before the Alvarez). For the cost, you can't beat it.

Solid top spruce with beautiful grained ash sides. Made in Indonesia. I believe it was made in 2004 or 2005. I got it in late 2005.

Sound : 10
Got this guitar when I was first learning to play. The ash sides are beautiful. It sounds very clean. I now have 8 guitars and this is one of my top 3.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action is low but it could be just a hair lower especilly toward the bridge. Pickups and tuner work well.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Good gloss coat. I am a little rough on the guitars and I don't keep them in cases. The pick gaurd shows a lot of scratching quickly.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
Definitely a fantastic value for the price. I like my fender D14SCE the most, but this is a tie for second. This was cheaper and looks better.

Mine was made in 2004, but I bought it in Jan. of 2005. standard dreadnaught cutaway. 20 frets, solid spruce top. comes with onboard tuner, 3 band equalizer, volume and presence controls. body is of figured ash. I have a nice honey finish on my, beautiful grane. Smooth grover tuners.

Sound : 9
Plays well for country and acoustic rock. I really like it coming out of my peavey ecoustic 112, it sounds really good out of an amp. Very bright. I sometimes think that it may be to bright, but for the price, the sound is unbeatable.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Mine was a little high on the action from the factory, but I had it adjusted and it is great now. No flaws in finish or hardware, great quality wood. Overall good in this category.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It does withstand live playing very well. I have performed with it numerous times since I bought it, and it is very reliable. Definitely able to depend on it.

Customer Support : 9
don't know about company, but store I bought it from was great in regards to customer service.

Overall Rating : 9
I have played extensively in the past on taylors and martins, and while this guitar doesn't sound as good as a $3000 - $4000 guitar, it sounds just as a good as any $600 - $1000 taylor or martin. I have been playing for years, and this guitar is the best value for the money that I have ever seen.

I am not sure what year this guitar was made, but I have had mine for about 6 months. It is your standard Dreadnaught size guitar. It is a cutaway which is great for going beyond the 12th fret. It has 20 frets. It is a solid sitka spruce top, which means it is not the highest end type of spruce, but it is a solid top at an affordable price. It has a 3 band equalizer with built in chromatic tuner, and presence and volume controls. The body is figured ash except for the solid spruce top. It has a rosewood finger board. The finish on mine is transparent black, so you can see the wood grain, which makes it very beautiful. It has great grover tuners with very smooth action on it.

Sound : 9
I play a little of everything, and this guitar has served me best for bluegrass, country, acoustic rock, contemperary praise, and even some classsical. It sounds awesome coming out of a good acoustic amp, very bright, but also has a nice full quality. Not the best on the bass end, but with good strings it does very nicely.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Mine came with a very low action factory direct, not all are that low, I just happened to get a good one, but it is important that you play it before you buy it, but that is true of any guitar. Like I said earlier the finish is amazing transparent black, absolutely beautiful. No flaws in exterior finish, the finish is thick right around the soundhole, but on the rest of the top it is not to thick to hinder the sound at all.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have played it live more times than I can count, it is just as dependable as any other nice guitar, and the grover tuners seem like they will last forever. The finish is great, thick enough so that it will not wear off, but not so thick as to hinder the sound. The strap buttons are solid, but I wouldn't throw it around my neck or jump up and down with it, but I wouldn't do that with any acoustic. and in all the times I have used it I have never had a backup.

Customer Support : 9
Don't know about the manufacturer, but the store I bought it from is awesome about their customer service.

Overall Rating : 9
This is a great guitar for the price, it is not as good as a $3000 Taylor, or Martin, or Breedlove, but mine sounds much better than my friends $900 Martin, or his Dad's $500 Alverez. I have played several Alverez's, Takamine's, Martin's, and Ovation's, and this guitar sounds as good as any guitar that is in the $500-$1200 range. And for around $300 that is a pretty good deal. I have been playing for several years, and I have not found as good a guitar as this one at anywhere near the same price. My fav. feature is the solid top, and the built in tuner, my least favorite thing about it is the fact that with that beautiful transparent black finish it shows fingerprints really badly, and I have to polish 3-4 times a week.

Has great features, mine is a great guitar if you want a $800-$1000 sound at the $300 price. Play one before you get it, make sure you are getting a good one. Where I bought mine there were 2 and the other one sucked. It's a solid spruce top, and it is not like a "board with strings" it sounds really good. Look at the other reviews for all of the specs on it.

Sound : 8
I play acoustic rock, country, and some praise stuff. It suits me perfect, it sounds great coming out of an acoustic amp, not so great out of other amps. Not as much base response as I would like, but still for the price it has a great sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action on this one was low, everything was set right, nothing missalligned or maladjusted. and it has a beautiful transparent black finish.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have played it live many times, it has lasted me for a long time, never messed up live or in private. finist will definitely last, and I have gigged with it several times without a backup.

Customer Support : 9
Great service from dealer, and great service w/ company.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for 4-5 years, I have played extensively on $800 martins and $800 alverez's and this sounds just as good as either.

I disagree with the previous post. D-4CE Greg Bennett series, This is a good guitar.
Solid wood - ash back and sides, solid spruce top. Yes it is
thick around the sound hole but that's just reinforcement-if you look
inside you can see that. Grover tuners, nice finish, real rosewood
sadle and fingerboard. A Bearcat EQ w/tuner. The strings were the bad part (cables not strings)

Sound : 10
Changed the strings and readjusted the neck. The guitar sounds real good. The sustain is forever.
Pluged in - sound is very nice.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action was good with the cables it came with - had to adjust neck
with the string change. Fit and finish was good. Trans AM color
red with black fade trim (not my favorit color). This was sold as
a new second but the only thing I could find on it was the line where
the matchbook front grain was going the other way. No big deal-will
not effect the sound.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Good hardware - innotated bridge - Solid all around.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Dont Know

Overall Rating : 10
Play and repair guitars for 25+ years. If the guitar were stolen no problem I have another. For a cheap guitar this has good quality and good sound. Wish the color was different. I have a Taylor, Alvarez and Washburn. This D-4ce is my main practice guitar. Great value!
