This is probably basswood or agathis, not too expensive, but very nice, very sturdy. The top is a maple cap with a transparent, quilted green veneer. Antique white plastic binding on the body is flawless. The pickups are good, but I would recommend DiMarzio upgrades. Switched out the tuner to Schaller non-locking 18:1 ratio, and upgraded to a Fender trem/bridge. Set the intonation using a Boss TU-2. This guitar plays like a dream. Nice, unfinished hard rock maple neck, maple fretboard. Awesome!

Sounds fat, and I mean FAT! Could be better on the cleans, but that's why I would switch to DiMarzios instead. Other than that this thing is smoothe. I use it for classic rock and blues, which I've been told is odd because this design is more for hard rock or metal. Oh well, works for me!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Flawless. Action is set to 3 cents. Intonation is perfect. Harmonics come with ease. This guitar is built extremely tight and very well. I'm surprised they let this go for under $400.00.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Like a freight train!

Awesome. My original neck warped, the replaced the WHOLE GUITAR at no charge! Good enough to recommend to anyone!

Overall Rating : 10
Awesome. I have been through Ibanez (which I still love), Fender, Gibson, Epiphone..you name it, I've either owned it or used it. This by far the best for the money. I would definately buy another just for the simple pleasure of it!

-quilt maple cap top
-3-way selector, 2 volume, 1 tone

-Passive
-Maple neck and fretboard, not sure about the body other than the maple cap
-transparent navy blue, beneath is quilt top
-offset les-paul/tele design, guitarplayer said"les paul au Salvadore dali"
-whammy bar 6screw bridge
-non locking grovers (beautiful!!)
-short-scale
-came with gig bag and strap from the store i bought it from, comes with allen keys

Sound : 7
-really nice punk sound, tone gets really muddy past 7 (10 being full treble)but i never use tone past that
-I usually play it thru a peavey rage 158 but sometimes i treat it to my Behringer Vtone
-neck pickup tone is great
-not as beefy as my Les Paul (has to do with the bridge)
-not much variety(because using the tone control sucks)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Uhh fairly nice setup(this was my first guitar and i didnt play it up high until later) then i found out about the dreaded 18th fret. God, i hate it. but otherwise its fine. never touched the pickups(at least not with a mind to adjust them) and theyre fine. Bridge and top were fine, flaws were inevident as i recall, but i stickered and bashed it up so much i don't remember.

Reliability/Durability : 7
-i dont pla live, but my only two shows ever i did with this guitar and it was fine
-rewire this thing, the electronics are crap. i did and i replaced the switch.
-finish is really thick
-strap buttons are better than those retarded fender ones, but it still fell a couple of times, so i got lockin ones
-I wouldn't depend on this, Id use it for backup, cuz i have an awesome les paul

Customer Support : No Opinion
the store i got it from is gone now (RIP) but they were very kind to me . samick i havent even talked to

Overall Rating : 8
-ive played for 2years
-i have the two amps i mentioned, this, my Les paul, and a shitload of danelectro effects
-i would not replace this guitar, but i love the one i have cuz we've been through so much together. its an expression of me, and i would kill the jackass who took it
-the things i love are the whammy, the grovers and the maple neck
-I HATE THE 18 FRET!!!!!!!!!
-i use this for punk cuz it isnt a very technical guitar so i hang it low on a strap
-i wish the top was carved and I wish it had a six on one side headstock. well bye and check my review for the epiphone les paul bob marley and even visit my band's website at www.freewebs.com/notevennonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

This is a pretty guitar, dark blue with maple top quilt visible. It has a bolt-on neck, grover tuners, a standard trem bar, and a pair of Duncan hums that are not adjustable (without some creativity). The shape of the body is cool: it is offset with an odd but stylish shape. The overall size is relatively small; the small clever headstock shape and flat blunt curves are reminiscent of an EVH. I'd be stunned if this was made in the US. The only feature I can imagine adding is a coil splitter; it may get one when I get a chance... Oh yes, it has no pickguard, and the expected fine scratches are showing up.

Sound : 5
Sound is the weird issue. My friends who play like it a lot, and sometimes I do as well. It can have the full and quiet as you would expect from hums. The sound is not as impressive as I would expect from Duncan hums- the sound seems muffled through both my solid state Marshall and tube Ampeg G20. But what I really don't like about the sound is that the sustain is poor, and for the life of me I can't figure out why (the pickups are not too close; the nut seems cheap- I'm thinking of putting in a metal nut). Perhaps the angle off the bridge...?? The other points of the guitar are high enough that I may splurge and replace the pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The FB1 really shines on this category. The finish on this guitar is perfect. My only quibble is that the maple neck has a shiny gloss finish; this isn't necessarily bad, it just takes getting used to. And I really hadn't appreciated how much fun a blond maple neck is: very nice!

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Again, the quality of construction is astonishing for such a cheap guitar.

I have eight guitars, seven electric. What I like about this guitar (along with a Peavey Raptor) is that it is cheap light and easy to play. It looks great and feels comfortable. It feels modern and classic at the same time, sort of the way Art Deco can be both. The quality of the guitar is clear. As I mentioned, I am baffled by the fairly weak, poor sustain of the pickups. It needs more punch, more color, something. But for $200, I would strongly recommend it. Just make sure you have a compression pedal.
