I'm not sure what year this guitar was made, but I know that it was made in Korea (this is stamped very discreetly onto the back of the headstock). It's a dual humbucker guitar with 22 frets, 2 volume and 1 tone control(s). The original pickups were Duncan Designeds.
It has a red quilted top finish that's simply beautiful. It's shaped very similiarly to a Ernie Ball MusicMan type guitar (single cutaway).
This guitar has a Floyd Rose tremolo, which can be a pain, but is also very useful at times. It also has Grover tuners which work fairly well if I should be inclined to take the locking nut off, which I usually do (I don't use a lot of whammy bar).
The neck is maple and very comfortable to play.

I changed the pickups to Seymour Duncans and that has improved the tone, but not substantially.
It suits my musical style well, because I play a lot of diverse stuff. Obviously with the humbuckers you're not going to get that "Strat"-ey clean sound but it has a decent clean sound and distorts really well.
I run it through a PODxt Live straight into the P.A. and it's really quiet until I push it into really high gain settings.

The guitar was set up pretty well when I got it used at the music store. Minimal buzzing, etc.
I did change the knobs from this metallic dome type to Strat knobs, just because I think they look better now.
Like I said before, the finish is great.

I changed the straps to a locking strap and that works fine.
It's already been put to the test with several shows. I've gigged it without a backup and don't really have a choice as this is my only guitar right now. It's never cut out on me or anything.
It's a hefty chunk of wood, so I think it could probably take a beating and still be alright.

I've been playing for a year and a half and I can tell that this guitar is great.
I wouldn't go out of my way to buy another one of these if it was lost somehow, because they're not very common. If I were to buy another Musicman-esque guitar I'd probably go with an OLP MM1 or MM1F.
I don't think I'm ever going to sell this guitar, it has sentimental value, it's beautiful, and it's an all-around great axe. This thing is better than the Fender Standard Strat I rented for a while, and it deimates the Dean Evo XM that I traded in for it (in all fairness, the Dean was only $99 new).
I only have half of a thumb on my right hand (long story), so I'm goin to give this guitar one and a half thumbs up!

THIS GUITAR IS VERY GOOD FOR THE MONEY. I HAVE ONLY HOOKED IT UP TO MY CRATE PRACTICE AMP AND IT SCREAMS. I CAN'T WAIT TO HOOK IT UP TO MY MARSHALL TSL100. THE DUNCAN DESIGNED DIRECT MOUNT HUMBUCKERS HAVE PLENTY OF SUSTAIN. THE NECK PLAYS VERY FAST AND EASY. YOU CAN GET MANY DIFFERENT SOUNDS OUT OF THIS GUITAR BUT I THINK THAT IT WAS MADE TO ROCK HARD.

THE ACTION WAS SET UP GOOD AT THE FACTORY BUT I LIKE MINE A LITTLE LOWER. I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO HAVE THE TREMOLO UNIT LEVELED OFF A LITTLE BY MY GUITAR TECH. RIGHT NOW IT SITS A LITTLE TOO HIGH. THE PICKUPS WERE MOUNTED AND BALANCED PROPERLY. THE FINISH IS A BEAUTIFUL AQUAMARINE QUILT TOP WITH NO FLAWS WHATSOEVER. IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL CREAM BINDING AROUND THE BODY OF THE GUITAR. EVERYTHING SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN INSPECTED AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURING. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE WAY SAMICK SENT ME THE GUITAR.
