This is a 2002 model, transparent black cherry. Since it's an older one it has the tailpiece as opposed to the string through body. Has the duncan design h/s configuration, which dont sound bad, but I may end up tossing some GFS' in there. This didnt have the coil tap, but I bought it used and the guy said his buddy rewired it, so since I'm ordering the coil tap pot from GFS anyways..... It has a couple of dings, but what the heck, it was used and cheap.
Sound
:10
I was hesitant at first, but couldnt pass the price up. After getting it home I plugged it into my pc with Guitar Rig 3, and this bad boy really sings! I am going to take it in to have a setup done on it, but only because it needs new strings anyways, and worth the 20 bux to let a pro see if they can tweak it. I redid a couple of leads, one a ballad, the other a rocker, self indulgent guitar piece I was working on, and was impressed.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
The finish is gorgeous! This was a good thing, because the better half wasnt too thrilled with me buying yet another guitar, but since it was pretty :) No flaws other than what the current owner subjected it to.
Reliability/Durability

I dont see any problems with using it live, although I'm more of a recording guitarist nowadays. I have a decent arsenal.. 82 Hamer USA, Epi LP custom, Fender tele,etc... and right now this is my go to guitar due to the versatility of sounds. I would never use it for a gig without a backup, but I would NEVER do a gig without a backup no matter what guitar I'm using. I'm pretty confident that the backup wouldnt get much use.

First I emailed thier tech support with the serial # to get some info, and they got back to me in 12 hours. Then I called to order a backplate since the guy lost the original, left a voicemail. They got back to me within 24 hrs, and are sending me one for free! Yeah, it's only a 10 or 20 dollar part, but Ryan's attitude of "naw, your one of us now, whether you bought it used or new, and we take care of our own" won me over. I'll probably buy another schecter on that alone.

I've been playing on and off for 30 years, doing time in local bands, as a hired gun and as a studio musician. I play anything from Jazz to Blues to Rock and all points inbetween. I dont really compare this to other guitars, because it has it's own place in my arsenal, but if I had to, I'd say the Epi LP. Not as good on sustain, but better harmonic overtones. I'd grab the epi for the cleaner stuff, and this for the overdriven leads. Love the pickup configuration. If this were lost or stolen, I'd replace it in a heartbeat, even if it meant buying a new one.
Since I dont look at the fretboard anyways, the lack of markers isnt a problem, actually makes it look a little classier with the double diamons at 12.

2003 model, made in Korea. Dual humbucker version. The rest is same as above.
Sound

A lot has been written about the "Duncan Design" pick ups. I have played mine beside the
same guitar with Duncan JB and Jazz installed and there is virtually no difference in the sound. The neck pup is the warmest I have ever heard and I've heard a lot. The bridge pup
rocks with the best of 'em. The coil tap unleashes some great single coil tones. I love it.

2000 model, made in korea and finished in USA. blood red tiger flame-maple top, mahogany double-cutaway PRS-like body, Tune-o-matic bridge, black headstock with grover tuners, 25.5" scale, 24 jumbo frets on rosewood fretboard (double diamond at 12th fret), set-in neck (painted and possibly maple), all black hardware, S/H Duncan designed SC102 and HB102 (passive), 1 x vol, 1 x tone pots, 3-way p/up selector.
Sound
:10
Perfectly suits my music style of heavy-melodic, hard-rock, punk, metal, screamo, rock, and assorted mellowed out styles.
I plug this through a JCM800 2203 (100w) head and marshall quad, as well as a peavey bandit transtube combo. Have also used it with a Boss FZ-2, SD-1, and v-amp 2 modeller.
The single coil p/up is a bit noisy, but that is to be expected. No unsual noise at all.
The guitar produces a wonderful rich and chunky sound, the body is extremely resonant. You can literally feel it rumble when playing heavy chords. I believe the pickup config allows for as many possible sounds as I look for in a guitar. The humbucker produces gritty high-gain tone and the single is great for clean and mellow sounds. Using both at the same time allows for a good vintage rock sound.
No dislikes at all.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
I didn't get it brand new, although it was new-old stock from a guitar shop. Once I put on new strings the action seemed fine, and the pickups are adjusted well. The top is properly bookmatched, and the bridge is properly routed.
The only flaw was that the input jack was missing a nut so it would eventually work itself loose. One of the pots is also a bit scratchy, but this could be just due to age.
Reliability/Durability
:9
This guitar is solid as a rock. It is korean made, but of a much higher standard than every other MIK guitar i've played, and even some MIJ guitars. It hasn't had much abuse but I trust that it will hold up. I may have to replace the jack to a locking mechanism though. I would gig it without a backup.

I have been playing since 1998 on and off. I also own a ibanez ax, and ovation lawsuit electric/acoustic.
If it were stolen or lost I would be devastated, because it's an older model that isn't made anymore. I would buy a newer one and trust that it would be as good.
I love the look - awesome body shape and headstock, the feel - the neck is fast and thin but not fragile, the sound - it absolutely devastates.
I chose it because I found it on ebay and it wasn't very far away so I could look before I bought it. Absolute bargain. I also found out that a few artists such as Terry Corso from AAF used this exact model so I figured it would be good enough for me.
Schecter is a brilliant, innovative guitar maker.

2005/2006 model, made in Korea. Black cherry.
Duncan Designed pickups, stacked humbucker in the neck, and (traditional) humbucker in the bridge. Three-way switch, and a push-pull coil tap.
I'm not very happy with the tone or volume controls. The volume rolls off far too suddenly to be useful. There's only a small threshold of control between nearly full on, and full off. The tone control is similarly limited.
High marks for the body, neck, and pickups, but low marks for the electronics.
Sound
:10
The sound is fantastic. I'm very happy with the variety of sounds. The coiltap is something i'm not used to, but i welcome it. Playing through a PodXt, and/or a small Marshall practice amp, the sound is as heavy as i like it, or as clean as i like. I'm just now experimenting with drop-tuning, and i'm like a kid, playing with those meaty chords. I'm not a 'metal-head' or shredder, but i do love Brad Delson's sound, and how he gets so much out of his ability. Starting, also, to listen to Seether, POD, Evanescence, etc. (that nu-metal stuff), after years of listening to EVH, Jimi, SRV, etc.
This guitar sounds better than my American Strat ('96), and far better than the PRS Custom 24 i owned for about a year. I sold the PRS, because it was a $2000 guitar, and i have $500 ability and dedication. I enjoyed playing it, but the instrument was too 'precious,' and i always worried about scratching the damn (beautiful) thing. The Schecter, though, is priced so that i don't have to baby it. But, whatever - the 006 Elite just sounds better than either of my other guitars. This is the first guitar i've owned that actually sounds like it's in tune, even though the others have always been professionally set-up. The 006, fresh out of the box, makes me sound better than the others do. I have to allow that part of it may also be the fantastic tuner built into the PodXt. I also own a very nice Boss tuner, so i'll have to experiment with it versus the Pod, and the 006 versus my Strat.
I will consider swapping the bridge pickup, possibly for a Dimarzio D-Sonic, or EMG-81, but not because i'm currently dissatisfied with the stock pickup. More because this one says "Duncan Designed," and i'm not entirely confident that it is as good as the higher-end, 'real' Duncans.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
I'm not a guitar tech, and i wouldn't even know what a poorly cut nut looks like. Everything looks 'perfect.' No flaws that i can see. The setup feels 'fine.' No buzz, until i dropped the tuning, and even then it's not problematic.
Reliability/Durability

I've had this thing only three days, so "reliability" - as we say in New Yawk: "who could know?" It feels solid. Looks solid. I just wonder about the electronics. But, no problems yet. No opinion.
Customer Support

Dunno about customer support. I called Schecter once or twice, a couple of months ago, when i was considering this guitar, and never reached an actual person. Got voicemails and whatnot. But, last week, before ordering, i reached a customer service rep immediately, and he quickly answered my questions. No repairs yet. Don't know about the warranty - i bought it new, but i never need/use warranty service on anything, so it's not an issue (until it becomes an issue).

I started playing at age 12, back in 1979-ish, but i've never been a dedicated player. I became more interested in synthesizers, and also bought a bass along the way. If this guitar were lost or stolen, i would probably buy it again, although i would try a Les Paul Classic first, to see if it was worth the additional money. I might also consider the see-thru black finish. I compared this guitar to another Schecter, when i was originally looking for a PRS SE Custom. I preferred the other Schecter, by far, to the PRS Se line, and then sought to find a Schecter that was more appropriate for me. I wish it had 'real' Duncan pickups, and better electronics. Other than that, it's a fantastic guitar. It's a better than fantastic guitar for the money.

All the previously mentioned features except mine is older and has an HB in the bridge and a SC in the neck. The pickups were after market installs (Seymour Duncan) on this guitar which was bought used for a whopping $200.00.

This guitar can play everything from SRV blues to Jazz to Metal without missing a beat. Best kept secret in my opinion. I use a wide variety of amps and effects and it gets along well with everything. It's quiet, great sound, great feel, and I find myself picking it up quite quickly compared to my other guitars. It's well built.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Great finish. I had to have the guitar set up for 11's which is what I prefer to play. Guitar is in mint condition and looks great.
Reliability/Durability

This guitar is withstanding gigging quite nicely. I don't see any flaws with the guitar other than I break strings from time to time when they get old. But that's my fault not the guitars fault. I replaced the strap buttons with Schaller Strap Locks which are on all my guitars. I would gig without a backup guitar if I didn't think I was going to break strings. The guitar will last just fine...the strings are what are prone to giving out with time, use, and sweat.

I've had great success with Schecter's support. They've always been prompt with any and all issues. For the warranty read the website. Since I bought the guitar used, the only problem was that the humbucker ring/plastic rectangle was cracked. They promptly sent me a replacement at no cost to me. I will be buying a C1 ELITE in Antique White this week.

The features on this are awesome dude. I mean i dont know any other korean made guitar that has these kind of electronics. But its not just the electronics its also the cool tone pros locking bridge which makes string changing a hell of a lot easier, just think how many times you have gone to change the strings on a fixed bridge and its just fallen of and you lost your intonation. i know i have. but to judge for yourself just look at the specs:

The sound on this baby is awsome, though some of you may be going well there seymour duncans crap range of pickups, there actually not they are some of the best pickups that duncan do. I will admit though that the actual SH-6 which these pickups are based on are alot better because they just have that little bit more chug if you know hat i mean.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Well i cant really give much of my opinion for this subject because as soon as i got it i took it to the guitar shop and got it set-up the way i wanted it, and by that i mean i got 11.s put on there and tuned it to C# standard. But it looked awsome, i think if i remember the only flaw being the tuning but that was just from delivery i think (you know where its in a box being nocked a little)

This thing is as hard as a rock, i have smacked this thing accidently so many times and yet no scratches. And i would totally use this guitar gigging without a backup, this thing would survive any venue you through at it, (literally).

I try to play a variety of music styles, from metal to blues, and it fits all my needs. After about the first year of owning it, the volume pot started making a scratchy sound, but replacing it was a cheap fix. It has a very bright tone on the bridge pickup, which is what i use 90 percent of the time. With my Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier it sounds amazing. I tried a few gibsons before trying this guitar at guitar center and the 006 Elite blew them out of the water. If i had not seen the price tag,i would have thought it to be a thousand dollar guitar. The only guitars that i have played that sound better to me are made by ernie ball, PRS, or G&L. So for the price tag on this beauty, it is more that worth the money.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
The guitar was set up perfectly from the factory except for the nut. Pickups were adjusted well, but i like my high, so i moved them. There were no cosmetic or structural flaws on the guitar, and the transparent Cherryburts finish looks great.

The only problem that i have had with this guitar is that both strap buttons have stripped out on me and i was forced to drill new holes for them and use glue to secure them in place, but i havnt had any problems with this since. So in short, i wouldnt go jumping around on stage untill this problem is assesed. The durabiltiy on the rest of the guitar is great though

I'm pretty sure this is a 2000 model....made somewhere in Asia but assembled here
24 frets, double diamond on the 12th fret
1 volume control, 3 way pickup switcher, 1 tone control
bridge humbicker , neck single coil
both pickups are duncan design
passive electronics
Nice chrome stop tailpiece
Grover tuning machines

I went into guitar center hoping to get a Gibson SG, and came out with this guitar. It is just so incredible. The 006 elite (and most of the Schecter Diamond Series) has the nicest clean sound of any guitar I have ever played. The only problem I have had with it is sustain. It could use a bit more sustain. However, the pickups on this baby are great. Duncan designed pickups are awesome, and go perfectly with this guitar.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
This guiar has great action, although not as good as a strat (but theres no beating the action on a strat so i guess this as close as you can get)...I love the way I can just fly over the fretboard...it feels much better than many of the more expensive models.
The pickups were a little wierd right out of the store...I had to adjust their height to get the perfect tone for me (I play in an indie rock jam band)...once i did that, the pickups were perfect. I would never change them, unless they break or something.
Otherwise, no problems at all with this guitar.
Reliability/Durability
:10
I have used this guitar in numerous live performances, and it has always withstood the abuse I put it through. (and trust me, I abuse my equipment pretty bad in a live show)
The tuning machines startedes to tarnish a bit (im not sure how that happens)...but as soon as i cleaned em up...they looked brand new again...they are still strong and in great condition even after 3 years of extreme abuse.
The finish must have 100 layers or something...cuz i have sweated all over this thing...and the finish looks EXACTLY the same as it did the day i bought it.
The strap buttons come loose when you play for an extended amount of time while swinging your guitar around a lot and stuff...but thats not a big deal...a turn of the screwdriver tightens them again.

I've been playing for 5 years seriously, and been playing live for 2. This guitar has survived it all.
If this guitar was stolen, first I woudl cry for a long time...then Id find a new one...i love it!
I love the incredible action and GREAT clean sound...i hate the short sustain...but that can be made up for with a good pedal (I only use DOD...i dont know why...i just love DOD for some reason)
I compared this to the Gibson SG...and this one felt and played much better...they sounded about the same.
I wish it had another singel coil in the middle...but thats not a big deal.

Lots of sounds in this guitar. I'm mostly playing classic hard rock and she does nicely thru my Peavey Classic 30 and my 5150 II. I really think this guitar would also be a great choice for modern down-tuned styles.
The pickups compare nicely to the Duncan USA JB and Jazz in my Hamer Studio. I may change the bridge pickup to a Distortion, but only for a different sound.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:7
Finish is Flawless. setup was a little low for my tastes, but there was no fret buzz.
A couple little defects in the binding. The nut could have cut a little cleaner. A couple screws needed tightened. Some filler around the inlays.
A couple small things, but nothing you won't find on a $2000 Gibson or PRS, so for a guitar under $600.

I wanted this as a backup for my PRS, but i'm thinking that this one will quickly become one of my main live guitars. I'll play it alot at first at least. we'll see in the long run after the newness wears off. I'm giving this one a 9 because of the flaws in the binding and nut. If this were a more expensive USA made guitar I would have marked it down more for these things, but this is the best Korean guitar I have ever had my hands on.
