Korean made, 24 fret Maple neck with rosewood fretboard, Mahogany body with flame maple top. The body has a PRS feel, although it has more severe edges...very cool. The finish is called Black Cherry and really sets off the flame maple. The pickups (humbucker/single coil) are Duncan Designed which mean they are designed by someone else to Duncan's specs. Controls are minimal with a three way pup switch, one volume and one tone. The bridge is a standard Tuneomatic with stop tailpiece. Grover tuners complete the axe and are of pretty decent quality.
Sound
:10
I play a variety from rock to metal to blues and this guitar has been very surprising. The sustain is incredible; a result of the set neck. I really enjoy the range of sounds I can pull from this guitar and am certain that I haven't wrestled the full spectrum available. The neck pickup is a bit on the weak side but the humbucker delivers a wide enough range to make up for that. Although most of my other guitars have undergone pickup replacements, I'm happy enough with the Duncan knockoffs that I won't be changing them out anytime soon.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:8
The action was low with no fret buzz. I am really happy with the playability. One minor beef. The pickups had plastic shrinkwrapped around them and you pretty much have to remove the pups to get the plastic off. Maybe Guitar Center should have done that, but still... The set neck is kind of funky...rather than using a dove-tail joint and blending the body into the neck, the joints are squared off and seem rather kludgy. Once you're playing, it doesn't affect feel at all, but having built a few custom guitars, I notice things like that. Finally, the finish was near flawless, although there are pinhole imperfections in the topcoat along the edges.

Overall, I think this is a solid guitar that will really stand the test of time. It has handled abuse well and although I don't really gig anymore, I would fell confident using it without a backup.

Never dealt with them, although I have heard the horror stories. For the price, forget the warranty and use local repair shops for repair work.

I have been playing for about ten years and then mysteriously stopped once I got married. I bought the Schecter to get rolling again and it has become my favorite guitar...and the others are customs that I built myself. If this guitar were ever stolen, I would definitely buy another...I'm sold on Schecter now.

This is a 2002 model, with 24 frets, and two duncan designed pickups.
The body is mahogny and the neck is maple, but it could be sawdust for all I care; I just wanted a guitar that could produce the sounds I wanted, and that I could easily play. Body is a nice difference. Better than the eternity of strat, tele, and les paul clones that deluge the market. Got it new in March. The bridge pickup is a hummer and the neck is a single. Clear finish over a maroon body looks great, but not too flashy. Got it with a cheapo gig bag, but will probably spring for a hardshell soon. Threeway pickup switch.
Sound
:10
I play rhythm guitar in a band that does everything from mellow beatles to classic rock. I was amazed at the variety of sounds I could get out of this guitar. The neck single is clean, bell-like, and great for old beatles/birds stuff. The hummer has a bit of crunch, but not too much dirty grunge sound. Hey, I know it's stylish, super-groovy, ultra-fab, and neato-keen to say things like, 'I replaced the stock pickups with super hot XL56-hotmamas.' But honestly, both pickups sound great and provide me with more variety that I expected without having to change guitars. However, the single is a little less responsive than the hummer, but that could simply be my lack of set-up knowledge. I play at home through a micro practice 15 watt crate. At band practice I play through my friend's fender, not sure which one, but it's tube, has 4 ten inch speakers, and sounds great. Oh, I almost forgot...the sustain was a complete surprise. I was amazed by the natural sustain the guitar had. The lead player, a strat and gretch man, borrowed it, and was blown away by the sustain it had. He also liked the variety of sounds that he could get, and he has already decided to use it this summer for overdubbs, which is a bit of a surprise because he almost always reached for one of his three strats.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
Being an old acoustic man, set up is not my area of expertise. However, my strat buddy played it almost right out of the box, and he was quite pleased with everything but the action; he said that it was a bit stiff. But moving from a acoustic 12 string to this guitar was a dream. The finish looked flawless to me, and I put on my glasses and gave it a close once over. This may be slightly off track, but if you are an acoustic player used to a roomy neck and are thinking about switching to a solid body electric, this is an easy transition. I played about a million fenders, washburns, epiphones, and some other clones, and none of them had the room that this neck did. I do some picking, and there is room to get around on this neck. I would like to say some more negative things here so I don't sound like a "love- struck 8th grader, but, for real, this guitar, especially for the price, is a sweetheart. I'm gonna give it a 9 just so I don't completely lose my credibility.
Reliability/Durability
:9
Finish looks thick enough to last, strap buttons are fine so far, and I have used it out multiple times with no problems with the guitar. It has fallen over due to my not putting it back in the stand, and I can't find a ding, or problem. As to playing without a backup, I think anyone who plays without a backup is taking a risk. Nothing is for sure. The only thing that I would change is the balance; the body seems a bit heavy. But hey, that could be my not-so-small gut contributing to the problem.

I have been playing guitar since 1966. I played cheapo solid bodies until the 70's, then I switched to 12 string acoustic. I just recently came back to solid electrics when I switched from solo and church playing to playing in a rock band. I own a guild 12 string @ early 70's, and a carvin acoustic/micro-p.a. amp. If this guitar were stolen and insurance pain for it, I would buy the exact same guitar color, finish and all. For what it's worth, I really like the chape of the body. Most other guitars are either strat, tele, les paul clones or are something that looks like a deformed batwing. It's nice to have a guitar that looks a bit different without saying look at me. The sound variety and the looks come together to make a guitar that was a lot better than the ones I almost bought. No, I don't own stock in Schecter, but I think that they are one of the best kept secrets in guitarland.

This guitar plays awesomely as I have come to expect from schecter products (i also owne a schecter scorpion). I did not at first care for the pick ups, because lets face it, Duncan Design pick ups are not the greatest (dont get me wrong they are a hell of alot better than most stock pick ups). So I went and had the bridge single coil removed all together (though hope to eventually get an EMG SA installed) and had an EMG 81 put in the bridge. Now this guitar can sing. I play it through a Line 6 Flextone II head and a 4x12 cabinet (also line six). I use a POD 2.0 to run the effects and they all sound great. After putting in the EMG the varity this think can play is endless. But I do not play variety. I play metal. I put .012 to .64 guage strings on this thing and tune it B-F#-B-E-G#-C#. This guitar does the job wonderfully. It sounds great through my current rig but man I can only imagine the sound that it would make through a VHT ultralead head and a MESA 4x12. I am in love with the sounds this guitar makes.

The guitar came in great shape from the factory. Everything was in working order. I took it to my friends guitar shop to have it properly adjusted but he said it already was. The guitar came flawless, everything worked, and that is what is important.

Oh this guitar is a tank. The first think I noticed when I held the guitar was that is was solid. I mean this thing has some weight to it. And to me that is not a bad thing 'cause I like to feel my guitar. This guitar never goes out of tune even in low B tunings. So far everything has lasted. The finish is all still on there as shiny as the day i bought it (except for the pick scratches which are my fault). The strap buttons were a bit too solid really. Had a hard time putting new lock on strap holders on. I can really depend on this guitar. I got it do play higher tunings than that on my Scorpion, but eventually tuned it down and started using it as back up. Now I use this more than my Scorpion.

I have been playing routinely for about 4 years now (all in all about 7). Besides my 006 elite, I own: a Schecter Scorpion (also a sweet guitar), an Epiphone Flametop (collecting dust but not bad), a few various Ibanez (a RG570 and AX120). I did own a LTD Eclipse before this but took it back (didnt like it much). If it were stolen i would have to get a new one (as it is I am thinking of getting another one for back up). I love almost everything about this guitar except the tonal options. I compared this to some LTD guitars but the LTD ones (an EC300, a V301, and H301 [?]) but ultimately I chose this one. Schecter has made a believer out of me. I am hooked on thier products now.

2001 korean made. 24 Jumbo frets. see through mahogany red. 1 tone, 1 volume. single coil/humbucker config. tune-o-matic bridge. grover tuners (never go out of tune....I MEAN NEVER) I just wish it had separate tone and volume knobs for each pickup.
Sound

Sound was so-so at first, but I liked the feel and sustain of the guitar. Pickups are easy to change, the neck and body is not. So I dropped a Dimebucker in the neck and a lil 59'er in the neck. Wow, what a difference. This is the guitar of my dreams now. I love it. The mahogany's dark tone balances the brightness of my dimebucker, giving me perfect metal tone. When I want clean i just switch to my 59'er..... before i'd give the sound a 6, not w/ pickup change i give it a 9....

Guitar was made in korea in 2000 or 2001. 24 fret rosewood fingerboard, with a mohogany body and a very beatiful flamed maple top in Black Cherry finish(flawless). It has one volume and one tone control with a three way switch between a Duncan design humbucker at the brigde and a duncan designed single coil at the neck. The body style if very unique, kind of like a strat with its own personality. It has a tune-o-matic bridge with Grover tuners that stay in tune relentlessly!! It has a nice thin wide neck (not as thin as a jacksons) with jumbo frets. All in All not the most features but it has enough any guitar would need, and for the price range you cannot and will not find a better guitar, trust me ive looked and looked and you will NOT!!!
Sound
:9
Ok, the sound. The humbucker has a very nice full sound, lets put it straight, it can crunch and it can go clean. Its awsome. By far the best stock humbucker ive found in any guitar of this price range. Given its not got the les paul tone but it shure can hold its own. The single coil has its typical single coil hiss and sounds hideous when used with distortion. But sounds absoulutly stunning when used clean. Also the pickups have no feedback what so ever when used with high gain+volume levels, which is very impressive. All in all this guitar can produce any sound your looking for if you work the volume and tone controls with the right pickup combination. Im only rating a 9 because the single coil can have a good hiss as most single coils do, its typical. It really can cover any range of music from contry twang with the single coil to ripping Megadeth riffs with the humbucker, it truly is amazing. And i would also agree this is NOT for the breed of rock only, it is great for covering classic and mellow music as well.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
Action was absoulutly perfect when i purchesed the guitar. However being the unexpert i am, tryed to "tweak" it a little and got it way out of whack. But it WAS set-up flawless, which is amazing for a korean made guitar(must have been set up in the U.S.) Finish is flawless and perfectly book matched. This is the most beatifull finish ive seen on a guitar, its just awsome! It has absolutly NO finish flaws and ive looked over it completly. Pickups were quite low but being pickup hight is really a preference thing im not gonna de-duct any points off. I just raised them quit a bit for personal taste.
Reliability/Durability
:10
This guitar can definatly withstand live playing, and the hardware seems quit durable, except the nut will be replaced and when i pulled the back cover off Schecter used a peice of non-electrical tape on a wire. I simply took it off and put electrical tape around it. (Anybody with this guitar may want to do this to prevent future castatrophy, it is no big deal and takes a whole 30 seconds). Strap buttons are very solid and it is an extremely dependable guitar. It seems like it would go through a whole gig with out problems but a backup is always an intellegent idea! Also this thing never goes out of tune, after hours of thrashing the hell out of this guitar it seems to stay in tune! Amazing

Ive been playing for about 4 years now and really hit it hard the last 2. Ive owned many cheap and budget guitars never really whipping out the dough for a PRS or Les Paul. Personally i find that cheaper guitars can be bought and modified to a level of dependability and tone of a more expesive AXE for far less money. This guitar is excelent for its price=value comparison. And im going to rate it a 10 overall. Now please dont think this is a 10 when comparing a bone stock Les Paul to a bone stock 006 elite, because thats not what im doing. Im saying that for the 450 bucks i shelled out for this guitar i could not have found a better guitar that sounds better, feels better(this thing reall feels great while playing the neck is perfect for me, plays better,or looks better. And with a new nut and nice pickups installed ill have a guitar i would rather own and play than a bone stock PRS or Les Paul i could have payed 1000 more for! This isbuy far my favorite guitar and will continue to be my main axe for as long as it will hold up to it. Schecter has a great company and i would not shy away from any of their products.

This guitar is absolutely amazing for the features.
Its made in Korea
It is a 24-fret guitar with a mahogany body and a see-through red finish, making it look absolutely stunning.
There is a bridge humbucker with a black cover and a neck single coil also with a black cover. Both are Duncan Designed
It has a grat tune-o-matic bridge and Grover tuners (which work really well- hardly ever falls out of tune
it has one volume and one tone control
-the only thing i think it really needs is more tonal control- a tone for each pickup would be nice
Sound

From what i have seen this guitar can play anything
ive tried just about every style of music possible on it and they all sound great through a cheap peavey envoy 110 and a digitech rp200
It seems to be great for handling all sounds, but it can be slightly noisy when i have heavy distortion on- this could just as easily be my amp though
Action, Fit, & Finish

Absolutely flawless- nothiing seemed wring at all and it played beautifully since i first played it
the finish is absolutely beautiful
Reliability/Durability

the only real problem ive had with it is a desautered a wire on the inside- but this was a minor problem and was really my fault
the hardware is black plastic- it seems like it should last, but i would prefer metal
i would definitely use this without a backup- it stays in tune very well and i doubt there would be any problems
ive got some scratches in the finish from picking recklessly- no pickguard, but nothing that is obvious unless you are holding the guitar in the right light and standing right next to it

it does not come with extra accessories, but it is already plenty of value for the price

I have a 2001 (i think) schecter 006 elite, black cherry finish. It is a set neck is painted . there are 24 jumbo frets. there is creme binding on the neck and headstock, with a rosewood fretboard.
There are two duncan designed pickups on this guitar. there is a single coil with black pickup cover in the neck position and a humbucker in the bridge with a black pickup cover also. There is one tone knob, one volume, and a 3-way toggle for pickup choice.
The Body is made of mahogany, the neck is made of maple, and there is a rosewood fretboard. The body style is very unique- you'll have to go to www.schecterguitars.com to see for yourself.
There is a Tune-OMatic Bridge, which i really like. The Grover tuners are also a nice compliment to this great guitar.
No included assesories, but i think i will get a cheap hardcase for it anyway, because this is such a nice guitar.
Made in korea, but set up in USA.
i forgot to mention, This guitar has no inlays except for double diamond inlays at the 12th fret.

This guitar is PERFECT for me! i mean, absolutely perfect for my music style! currently i am using this guitar with mt peavy rage 158, but i plan to get a better amp soon (princeton 65, or marshall half stack). it sounds great through my amp, but i am sure it can sound much better through something like a marshall halfstack. I dont use amp distortion (cus the distortion on my amp sucks), Instaed i use a DOD Grunge distortion pedal for my metal, rock, and punk- and i also love to use my danelectro Daddy-O overdrive pedal for lighter rock and alternative. It sounds GREAT through both of these. i also have two smaller dano pedals (metal distortion and phaser), which i havnt tried out yet with this guitar. some say tht schecter is only for the newer bred of rock, which i like. but i STRONGLY DISAGREE with those people- this guitar can cover just about anything i make up, whether it me light rock, alternative, heavy metal, or punk. I dont really have any dislikes, but i might buy a PRS humbucker pickup to replace the duncan designed that came stock. im not saying the stock pickups arent good though.

On the back of my guitar was a sticker saying this guitar had been set up at schecter USA to play (even though it was made in korea), and there is someones initials on this sticker, i guess the person who set mine up. whoever is is did a great job, its just the way i like it. The guitar was perfectly routed. The ONLY problem with this guitars playablilty i have right now is a slight buzzing on the 6th string (low E) at the 11th fret- I will soon get this fixed though.

I am almost possitive this guitar will outlast many guitars for a long time! It is very solid. I am very glad i upgraded to this guitar from my only jackson js-20, as i am tired of things breaking.
I will definately play this guitar live, its perfect for me.
The hardware seems great, no flaws in it at all, and hear that grover tuners are really good.
The finish is great, there are no flaws in it- this is a very good looking finish and im sure glad they didnt mess it up.
The strap button on the bottom was very tight. i checked the top one and is was slightly looser, but all it needed was a few turns with a philips head screwdriver.
It seems as if i will be able to depend on this guitar for a while.
I would use it on a gig without a backup- but a string may pop, so i might use my jackson as a backup, or i might get a cheap essex lp copy, just incase i needed it, but i dont have any worries. physicly though, i can imagine this guitar having any major problems during a gig.

This is definately the best guitar for me. I also own a Jackson js-20. I prefer this one way more.
If this guitar were stolen, i'd go hunt down the person who stole it, get a small white umpa loompa to beat him over the head with a graphite ping pong paddle for an outrageously long time, and then i'd take my guitar back. if for some reason it got completely lost, i'd buy a new one- exactly the same.
I love this guitar because i can make any kind of music with it, and it looks better than any other guitar i've seen.
I compared this to about every other guitar on the market that was $650 and below- i quickly decided this was the one for me. it conquered the others in just about every other possible way.
I wish it came iwith a hardshell case. No worries though, ill probly get one for like 50 bucks from musicians friend.
Well, in conclusion, this is the best guitar in the world! haha, maybe not, but its sure the one for me. it handles just about every music style, and its helping me be a better rockstar.

It is a new 2001 model madein Korea. It is a 24 fret with double dimonds on the 12th fret. It has a volume and tone knob, plus a 3 way pick up switch. It came with 2 Ducan Design pick ups. A single coil humbucker and the neck a double coil at the bridge. It has a set neck with a maple neck and a mahagony flame maple body. It has a see thru black finsh (kinda gives it a cool shark skin look). It has Grover tuners. And the frets on it are jumbo.
Sound

It plays hard rock greatly. It is deffinately made to play the newer breed of hard rock. I play deftones through it now, and it sounds great. But that is just it, it is made for the newer rocker. It doesn't quite have that clear sound you would get from a strat or something of that nature. So if you are looking to play older songs this would not suite you. I am running it through a 120 watt marshal, and it sounds great. It has more of a rock crunch sound (or at least that is were it shines). Other wise it doesnt have the best clear sound. It is very versitile on the hard rock end, but other than that, not very much variety. I like the crunch end of it, but if i try to play older rock it doesnt do the job with the best of them. But it plays what I like with excelent quality.

The guitar came flawless from the factory. It sounded great right out of the box. I have had no problems with the pick ups so far. The string tension feels great even in lower tuning (currently mine is CGCFAD). As far as I can tell there were no flaws to it.

This guitar is built solid. It can withstand the hardest playing so far. It has held up my abuse alot better than my old Ibanez did. The hardware seems like it will last. Half way through a gig were it was played ruffly I checked the tuning and the only string off was the low C, it was great. The finish seems great. It should last for as long as you play (pending you dont dent it and crap that is your own fault). The strap buttons dont give at all (which sucked when i tried to put on snap on strap buttons). I feel like I can depend on it all the way. Though it never hurts to have a back up.

This guitar is a great buy. I have only been playing for about 4 years, but out of the other guitars I own (a squire strat and an ibanez AX) this one seems to be the better. The only other instrument I owne that seem to hold up against it is my sound gear bass. My favorite feature is it's awesome looks. It will do for any buyer with not enough money to afford a Paul Reed Smith or a Les Paul or something. I just wish it had more tonal control.
