24 frets, flame maple laminate top, dark cherry red finish, mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, jumbo frets, grover sealed tuners (non-locking), 25.5" scale, stock pickups, bridge humbucker pickup & Neck single coil, 3 way selector switch, one tone & One volume, and side cable jack, non-tremolo bridge - looks like a tune-o-matic.

I play metal and some blues and the guitar fits it great and that low B adds that nice punch that my sound was missing. I play out of peavey and marshall amps and a BOSS GT-6 effects processor and I have the perfect sound I was looking for. The stock pickups are no good and I will toss them and get new ones when I get the money.

The guitar set up was fine, I don't the know the factory set up because the store fine tuned it when they got it in a few weeks before I bought it. Pickups were fine, everything is routed fine and the top is bookmatched nicely. The finish is very nice and I haven't found anything wrong with it yet & everything else was set up good too. The factory tuners aren't crappy, the selector seems a TINY bit loose somewhere because I get noise sometimes when I select different ones (but they are fine once selected).

I haven't played live yet, maybe not for a while either. The guitar is built solid though and I don't think I would like to ever gig without a backup ready. the finish seems like it can take a beating and it doesn't scratch easily. I haven't had a strap come lose while practicing with the band yet.

I've been playing for 8 years now, and I played mostly 6-strings, which I have plenty of now... I wanted a new sound and this seemed like the best bang for the buck and I was right. I like everything on this guitar and it has exactly the things I was looking for. I'd recommend it to anyone looking into seven strings.

Basic rundown of the features on this baby, I'm sure you already know this if you've been thinking of buying one: 24 frets, 1 single coil neck pickup, 1 bridge humbucker (both duncan designed), 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob, three way pickup toggle switch, fixed bridge, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, diamond inlays. The input jack is side mounted, rather than on the guitar face. Not sure what kind of wood the body is made out of, but it feels like plastic. Out of the box the guitar came with 2 allen wrenches and a guitar cable. Overall, this guitar has some nice features that I really like.

I mostly play heavier types of music (Chimaira, Spineshank, Slipknot, etc) and this guitar fits perfectly. I run this through my Mesa Dual Rectifier with 4x12 cab and it just shreds. I haven't experienced any noise problems such as humming or feedback with it, and the stock pickups sound really good, especially at higher volumes (which is the only way to play anyways, right?) This guitar also adjusts to a variety of music types, so whatever you play, I feel you can get good tone out of it.

As I took this guitar out of the box, the first thoughts that popped into my head: 1) the neck looks really short 2) the paint job makes the guitar look like Tyco made it 3) the body is really light. It's true, the neck is really short. Compared to my other guitars, the neck is a whole 2-3 inches shorter, but after playing it a while, I realized that I like this a lot, it makes it easy to reach all of the lower frets without stretching (good for someone with shorter arms). The paint job makes the guitar look like plastic, I'm not quite sure why though. Third, it is really light! I'm not sure why the guy in the other review said it is so heavy. I also have an Ibanez RG series guitar, and THAT thing is heavy, it starts hurting my back after playing it awhile.. the Schecter is perfectly weighted in my opinion. The action on this thing was set exactly the way I like it, low and easy to play. It came all set up, pretty much in tune, and there were no cosmetic flaws or hardware problems with it. Nice.

The guitar itself seems pretty durable and reliable, particularly the neck and headstock. I can't say for sure either way if the finish is is durable or not, I've taken good care of it so far, so I don't have any dings or scratches on it. The strap pegs are strong and pretty wide, so you don't have to worry about the strap coming off while you're playing (this happens to me WAY too often with my other guitars). I'm going to replace the pegs with a straplock system though, just because I ALWAYS end up making the strap come off, no matter what. Playing a gig with this thing, I would not worry about it screwing up on me, it's a good guitar. Only thing you'd have to worry about is breaking a string, but that happens with every guitar. Always play with a backup, man... just in case

I emailed customer support asking them about what model case to get for this guitar, and I got response back within 24 hours. They seem to have pretty good customer service.

I bought this guitar from Musician's Friend. The color I wanted was Black Satin, so I placed my order in early May. The expected in stock date was also early May. Well, the in stock date arrived and passed, and each day the date increased a day. I waited until July for it to come in, and I finally got pissed off and called them up and told them to just send me the normal Black colored one (since it was in stock). They changed it for me, and shipped it out pretty quickly, but I still wish I had gotten the Black Satin model. My straplock system, which I ordered at the same time of the guitar is still not in either (grrr). So beware when ordering out of stock items from Muscian's Friend! You may wait MONTHS to get your stuff, and inaccurate "expected in-stock dates". Aside from that problem (which is no fault of Schecter's I assume), this guitar is a great deal. This guitar's outstanding feature to me is its great FEEL. I have never played a guitar that felt so natural and comfortable. It also just plain looks good, and everyone wants a good looking guitar. The neck is quite thin for a 7-string, I have small hands, and I don't have any problems fitting them around it. The more I play this guitar, the more I like it. I've been playing 7-8 years, and I've played and owned all different types and brands of guitars, but I think Schecter just got a new fan. My main comparison is this guitar and Ibanez ones. The Ibanez guitars have a flat face, which I do not like, it's not comfortable to play. The Schecter has a more rounded face, feels much better. Ibanez fretboards just do not feel as good as the Schecter ones, I think the Ibanez frets are higher or something, I can't point it out for certain. Also the Schecter is so much lighter than the Ibanez guitars (your back and shoulders will thank you later). After getting this guitar, seeing it, and playing it, I would DEFINITELY still buy it if I could go back. This is the best guitar I've ever bought, especially for $500. I will buy nothing but Schecter guitars from now on. Now all I need is the Schecter hardshell case.. I'll have to order it from Musician's Friend, and it's not due in stock for another month and a half (ehem, I'm willing to bet that turns into 3-4 months). Enough talk! You will buy this guitar! Go!

This is a 7 string mahogany carved top dark red/see through finish, its beautiful, Im afraid to scratch it. Its got a volume and a tone, grover tuners, big strap locks, hardtail (string through body),jumbo frets, satin maple neck with rosewood fretboard and 4 different size diamond shaped inlays, gig bag. 2 Duncan design pickups, 1 single coil (sounds awesome for clean or distorted sounds, bluesy) and 1 humbucker, great for heavy distortion, a little midrangy for me, will probably replace this one with a real seymour duncan pickup with less mids. Best sounding stock humbucker Ive ever heard tho.

I have a Rocktron Vudoo Valve preamp and Rocktron 120 amp, I play Metallica, Sabbath, classical, Floyd, you name it. It sounds so thick, awesome sustain, its really awesome for $500.00. (I have a Gibson LP custom, this sounds better then the Gibson) The clean sound on the neck pickup is so clear, and deep, and its built like a tank, feels indestructable, which is why I bought it. I am in a band, we play out so its gotta be tough.

It was set up great, I raised the action a tiny bit on the lower strings, the only flaw is a tiny paint chip at the nut, who cares its the nicest looking guitar, just a pretty as a PRS for one fifth the price. Pickups were adjusted perfectly. Oh, the input nut was loose after a few days of playing it, no biggy, just tightened it up.

Ive been using it alone in our practices (instead of my USA strat plus and Gibson LP) to get used to the 7 string, and it stays in tune. I tune up and down to play dropped d ect, and it stays in once your in tune. Grover tuners are top of the line. I will put the shcaller strap locks on it only because I love those things and my straps will all be interchangeable. I play hard and bend like crazy and it is so tough. Might be heavy for a little guy tho. I would use it without a backup, Ive brought it to practice by itself for 3 months.

They e mailed me back within 5 minutes 3 times one day, I had questions about the pickups, as they arent real usa made duncans. I think the warranty is limited lifetime. Immediate response from the company, nice.

The best thing about this guitar is its half the price of the Ibanez which is only a flat top. My bassist has the Ibanez, he paid $980.00 for it, and when he played my 007, in the first minute he was SO PISSED as its got a better feel,WAY better finish, and sounds better, although its heavier then the Ibanez, and the neck is slightly thicker, which contributes to its great sound. The action is so nice the neck being slightly larger doesnt matter.Ive been playing for 18 years. I have the Fender strat plus, Gibson LP, Rocktron preamp and amp, BK Butler amp, soldano stack and ADA stereo 2x12 stacks ect. If it got stolen, Id buy another one. Its fun to play leads on because the action is great, although going higher then the 22 fret, up to the 24 is a little tough as far as access goes. I dont care, Ive never had a 24 before. You cant beat this thing for the money. Some of the other shecter 7 strings had cheaper hardware and werent as nice, so look for this one. Id like to play the 007 elite with neck through body, but mine has so much sustain with the string through bridge you dont need it, plus the elite only has the diamond inlays at the 12th fret.
