It's a 7-String made in 2000. It has 24 frets, 2 duncan design humbuckers with 3 way switch. Floyd Rose licensed Tremolo. Volume and Tone control. Nothing what other guitars wouldn't have.... It has a very beautiful body desing (in my opinion).

Due to the limitation to 2 humbuckers and no coilsplit or similar the variety is not a breakthrough. The humbuckers do their job very well. They are very clean. Bridge HB has good heights and middle, neck HB gives better middles and deeps.

The factory setup was pretty good. Low string setup, but i like it. It has a little fret-buzz, well the normal price you pay for a low string setup on a 7string. Now comes the reason why i'm writing this review. the review i found was much too good in my opinion. If you play (like me) much with a tremolo, leave your fingers from this guitar. It's absolutely unusable. It gets loosened as soon as you touch the bar and it dont allows exact work with the trem, because you can move the bar around without showing any effect (beside a loud click-clack coming from the inner part of the bar hitting the bridgeparts). (This is not a defect, it normal!!! ... more on support) The guitar itself is pretty good, but you simply cant use the tremolo. I'll get some other soon...

Playing it for almost a year now (several hours a day), had absolutely no problems with reliability.

I got the guitar in germany so i cannot say much about schecters customer support, i can only tell a story about one of it's german resellers. After a few days of neighbour-scaring hatefull "f*ck"'s i got back to the shop where i bought it and showed them the tremolo. They were pretty kind and sent it back to the german reseller. They "repaird" it and i got my guitar back with several scratches around the cover plate on the back (even around the cover plate of the electronics..... how did they repaired the tremolo???) and the result was a new tremolo arm which took a bit longer until it got loosened (not much) and the problem described on "action, fit & finish" was still there... the "speciallist" of the company which "repaired" it told the guy's of the shop where i bought it: "i've tried every a7 and they all have the same problem, so it's normal".... very cool, really...

I'm playing since 10 years now, mainly own rock (like malmsteen, satriani, etc.) and death (like cannibal corpse, buried dreams, etc) stuff and it's very good for this styles (the reason why i bought it was because with a 7string you can play both styles without switching the guitar). Sad but true: if it were stolen, i dont think that i would buy it again. The guitar is really good playable and is very beautyful, but it's definately not usefull for tremolo fans. As you may have noticed, english is not my native language, i hope that i wrote good enough that somebody understands :)

This guitar is a brand new 2000 7-string made in Mexico and assembled in the U.S.A. It is made of sold mahogany (weighs a ton). The neck is made of maple with a 24 fret rosewood fret board with jumbo frets. For pickups it has 2 Duncan designed humbuckers. I came with a Floyd Rose Licensed tremol system and grover tuners. It also has a locking nut and the neck is very wide (but it's a 7-string). It only has one volume and one tone control.

This guitar suits my music style perfectly. I like to play stuff like KoRn, Slipknot, and Metallica. I use this with a Peavy Express 112, Boss Metal Zone, and a Zoom 3030 multi-effects console. It isn't noisy at all, even at high gain. All you get is the normal low hum feedback you get from all electrics. None of that squealing when your not holding the strings. The sound of this guitar is kinda like a Les Paul but alittle bit deeper tone.

This guitar in my opinion was setup very good from the factory. I have only owned 2 other guitars besides this one and this one is set up way better. You can just glide down the frets with no problem. There are absolutely no scratches or marks on this guitar at all.

I think that this guitar would stand up just fine on stage. I think that the hardware would last through almost anything. The strap buttons that came on this thing are HUGE, you shouldn't have any problems with your strap falling off. I probably would use it on a gig without backup (if I had a gig that is).

I have been playing for alittle over a year now and this is by far the best guitar that I have played. I played the B.C. Rich and Ibanez 7-strings but they didn't sound as good as this one. If this thing were stolen, I would hunt down the son of a bitch that stole it, strap him down in a chicken coup, cut him open with a knife and watch the chickens peck away at him. If you were looking into buying a 7-string and have a limited budget, I'd say go with this one. I'd also like to add that in a recent Guitar Magazine contest this 7-string beat out all others in a competition.
