Well my Schecter Avenger was a USA Custom Made in the early 90's. It has perhaps the best tone I have heard out of any guitar. It's a solid Mahogony body, Black in colour. Everything on this guitar is flawless. Block inlays, much like a Les Paul Custom would have. Sperzel locking tuners and a Tune-O-Matic bridge (I hate Floyd Rose bridges with a passion!). The pickups are both Seymour Duncan, a JB in the bridge and a '59 in the neck. It has the coil tapping option which will give it a strat and tele sound. The neck is simply phenominal, perfect. It's a bolt on neck but the join is so tight I bet you could not stick a razor in it. I don't know about Imported Schecters, nor the Diamond Series for that matter but this is just a perfected crafted instrument.

The sound is just amazing, I can get a Strat, Tele, Paul and Explorer sound outta this thing. Very versataile.

The action was set very low when I got it. Feels much like a Black Beauty Custom without the neck thickness. The black on the body is a gloss and I tell you, it looks like an evil mirror! Another cool thing I dig about this guitar is that the body shape gives a perfect weight displacement when it's on a strap... Not like the Explorer I had before it. That damn thing was like a coffee table!

Well never gig with a backup but I consider myself very fortunate to have this guitar and I highly doubt I will ever find another guitar superior to this one. I installed strap locks on, I always do just a force of habit I guess.

My friend owns a guitar shop and he had ordered this guitar for himself awhile ago... He loves Gibsons to death but he said that the Schecter Custom Shop is the easiest to deal with. He dealt with the guy that was building the guitar and was extremely helpful.

Well my friend paid 2400 American for the thing back in the early 90's and I just recently traded him for my Gibson Explorer EX2. I have been playing guitar for about 6 years and I play everything:MetallicA, Alice in Chains, Jimi, Floyd you name it. There is no way in Hell I would ever give up this thing!

I have recently purchased a Schecter Avneger from Guitar center. I had to special order the piece and had to waive the right to return it. Big mistake. the guitar had a hollow "cheap" feel right out of the box. I didnt think much of it at the time because I had plans on customizing it with a more solid bridge and real seymore duncan pickups. while these improvements helped the overall sound and feel it still felt cheap (think import strat). I have 2 avenger 7 strings and I love them. This is a piece of excrement however. Although it does look cool....

Stock pickups (of course) suck nuts. I replaced them with seymore duncan sh-10 and sh-12. the body wood is totally void of tone and is the only lasting plague of this guitar. It sounds like plywood. I dare say that it makes my pickups sound bad.

the strings buzz at the low action that I like. For it not to buzz The action is unconmfortably high. I am not an Ibanez fan but I would take one over this.

Yes it is durable, Iguess. although I still have the urge to smash it at times. We'll see if it stands up to that.....

This guitar sounds very good, the brigde pickup is nice and bright, the neck pickup sounds full and warm. the only slight problem is that the pickups are a little noisy not to noisy but just a little.
I play through a marshall solid state 60 watt amp. this is a really great guitar, but I'm thinking of changing the pickups for more silent ones...

the action was a little to high for me, but it took me five minutes to change that. the guitar looks great, no flaws in the finish, no problem with the frets..

I've been playing for three and a half year now, Iw own a customised peavey raptor and ibanez rg 7620. If it was stolen, I would buy a new one if I had the money...the guitar sounds great...but maybe I'm gonna replace the bridge pick up into a little more agressive pickup..I think I'll replace it for a dimarzio x2n. I really love the colour and the strange shape of the body...the neck is nice and fast not as fast as a ibanez neck though..but fast enough..
