This guitar has standard features for an entry level metal guitar. Two humbuckers with 3 way switch, 1 volume, 1 tone pot. It has a fast neck with good frets. I give it a 9 because I like the simplicity of the features. I am not a big fan of four knobbed guitars. I also like that its a metal guitar without a Floyd Rose. Not a big fan myself.

Sound : 10
It sounds AWESOME. I love it for Metal. I also love it for Classical. I would use it to record anything. Live though, its obviously a metal guitar. It's full and bassy in the neck, bright and trebly in the bridge and perfect blended in the blend. The bridge sounds good for high gain metal (overdriven) and surf, country, any thing twangy (clean). The neck sounds good for blues or classical or old rock. The blend sounds good for any and all styles (just set up the amp how you want it). This is the first guitar I haven't wanted to upgrade the stock pups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action was awesome. It was set up in the USA. The pickups were good. The only problem I had was the volume pots were scratchy after 2 months. 10 buck replacement. I give it a 9 because of how cheap it was, but how much quality it had. It was better than the other guitars in its range and the more expensive schecters. It looks and feels super sweet in flat black. It is a special edition and has awesome inlays that only PRS can compare.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Dependable, yes! I haven't broken a string yet ( I have replaced them, but only by choice) It's sturdy and won't break the head stock when dropped (unlike pricey Gibsons) I haven't ever had a problem except the pots.

10 overall. Best value guitar new I have ever seen. I've been playing for a while, all kinds of instruments and this was the best value. How can they make such a good guitar for such little money? I guess they have to establish a rep competing against ESP and Ibanez. I guess you could consider B.C. competition too, but every one I have played was ugly junk. Buy SCHECTER. Any one will do. If you can get this guitar, get it. If you have more bucks, get the C1. But if you want metal, guit this guit-ar.

hmmmm lets see i picked up my blackhawk at guitar center about 6 months ago and i was completely overwhelmed with its features. it has 22 jumbo frets with really nice looking mother of pearl inlays. the 2 humbuckers provide a warm playing sound but the 3 way pickup selection helps to show a guitarist the blackhawks amazing durability between warm and crunchy rock like sound, to a more scintilating cleaner vintage. the body is shaped like all the other diamond series schecters, but this has a black satin finish that i think is the shit. the tuners arent that great bcuz mine has to be tuned like every time i move my guitar from down stairs to upstairs. im pretty sure they r grover tuners.

Sound : 10
holy crap the ounds is amazing like i said before. with its huge variety of sound i can get a n umber of unique noises from my axe and still retain that classic schecter tone. the sound is more rich and crunchy but can be toggled with to make a brighter sound too.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the pickups were set in very professioonally and the finish was great except for 2 scratches i noticed in the back after i bought it. everything else seemed great

Reliability/Durability : 10
i ahve only had this guitar for 6 months but nothing has gone wrong even through all of the abuse i have put it through.

Customer Support : 10
well i got tons of help from this guy i kno at guitar center (Curt) he was super cool and showed me how great of a guitar this was by pitting it up against other guitars in the same price range. bc riches sucked and the only thing that came close was a $500 gibson. Thanks curt!

This is a Korean made guitar built in 2002

25 comfortably spaced frets with funky slightly overdone inlay
that might appeal to Headbangers.

One volume, one tone control, 3 way switch. bridge, both, and neck.

Two Humbuckers, possibly Duncan Design? passive.

The body is solid basswood, minimalist flat black finish.

The body style is from the Diamond Series Schecter Collection. Nothing spectacular, but comfortable and effective. Stylish for the money spent.

The guitar has an offset string through body bridge. Attractive and functional.

Tuners/Can't say.. No name on unit. They appear to be Grovers, but that is speculative.

Rosewood neck with nicely spaced frets, not too wide, not too thin.
I favor Fender type necks, and am very comfortable with this one, although a friend said it feels closer to a Gibson style. Go figure...

No accessories, what you see is what you get.

When I rate guitar, I am comparing it with all guitars, from top end to bottom.

Sound : 8
The sounds this guitar can produce is an array that reaches from low down musty funk to a searing white-hot shredders delight. I play rock, blues, funk, jazz, reggae, and dabble in speed metal. I use a Marshall Valvestate 50 watt amp and an old 1987 Crate 60 G-60. I use a Pod 2.0 Amp Modeler and a Cry Baby Wah.

The guitar is relatively quiet but on the upper end when cranked up, it can easily get away from you. This guitar likes to sing, scream, and might dance if it had legs.

Not many dislikes, if I had to mention one, it would be that the pickups might be a little hot, but that can be controlled. One thing that struck me about this particular guitar was the way it rings and sustains a note even when not plugged in. You can actually hear the tone while playing unplugged. That's a plus in my book.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action on the particular guitar I bought was very good, as far as my tastes anyway. These guitars are assembled in Korea but the setup is done in California. I was very pleased with it. The action is very smooth and playable. No buzzes, nor rings.

A very Spartan like flat black finish with no frills. Tasteful black understated hardware. All hardware came tightly assembled with no rattles. It seems for the money, to have the quality of a much higher priced instrument.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I would be very confident playing this guitar live. If one believes the only way to "play" an instrument is to abuse it, then you might want to consider a $99 Squire, then you won't lose much when you destroy it. I believe in respecting and taking careful care of mine. This Blackhawk is dependable.

Hardware and finish again, last as long as you allow them to. If you take care of your instrument, your instrument will take care of you.
That said, under normal wear and tear, my only concern would be the finish. This is the first instrument I have had with a flat black finish. I doubt it would stand up to a lot of abuse. Fair warning.

I wouldn't be terrified of using this guitar without a backup, but as is the case with every guitar, you can't get "every" sound you want out of it. If you know what you are going to play, and this guitar suits your needs, then yes, feel safe.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No need as of yet. I've had the guitar six months with no obvious faults.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing over thirty years. I played professionally for a number of years, but now play for my own enjoyment. The bad part of it is, that now that I am older and have no desire to play professionally, I am able to afford more and better instruments. What a shame. I own an Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Super Sport, a Big Apple Strat, an American Standard Strat, an Ovation Custom Balladeer acoustic a Schecter Elite 006 Diamond Series electric, and the Schecter Blackhawk

I deal with a salesman at Guitar Center on a regular basis, and was actually in the store looking at some recording equipment, when he brought me the Blackhawk and said, "You've gotta try this one." He is a guitarist, so I generally tend to respect his opinion. I sat down with it and played for over an hour. I was amazed at the overall sound, action, and playability of this instrument. For the price, you can't touch another guitar of this quality. I was totally surprised by Schecters ability to provide a quality instrument at that price.

If it were stolen, I would more than likely buy another.

I really like the guitar. For an instrument of this quality at this price, what can you find to hate about it?

I compared it with other guitars of this price range, Ibanez, Jackson, and others. None of them came close for sheer ballsy playability.

From what I was told, this guitar was a very limited edition, (about 200)? Especially built for Guitar Center. I've not even been able to find it at their website. I know I'm glad to have mine. I find I pick up this guitar as much if not more than my others. It is in good company.

Made in 2002, Korea I think.
24 really big frets.
1vol, 1tone, 3way pu switch.
2 "Diamond series" humbuckers, passive.
Basswood body, Maple bolt-on neck, rosewood fb.
Satin black body and headstock.
Archtop "soloist" style body.
Tune-O-Matic w/string-thru body.
Schecter tuners.
25.5" scale.
Black hardware.

Sound : 10
Great for punk/metal but would work for anything.
I play straight into a Marshall Valvestate 100 watt 1/2 stack.
No noise clean or Distortion.
Nice bright clean sound, crunchy distortion with great harmonics, not muddy at all.
Sounds perfect when I play "How the Gods Kill" by Danzig, pinch harmonics are easy to get out of the pickups, great sustain, big frets make bends easy, comfortable neck that is thin but not a plank, contoured heel and tummy cut.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
It came with medium-low action.
No fret buzz, good intonation, tuners work smoothly and stay in tune very well.
I love the satin neck finish, it almost feels raw.
the body finish looks nice except for one very small nick that I didn't notice until I got home, probably from bumping into another guitar on display.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've heard that basswood is a little softer than most guitar woods so I'm just waiting to scratch it with my belt buckle.
I'm probably just paranoid of scratching up my new guitar and I shouldn't worry about it, it seems durable and properly built.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with Schecter but Guitar Center wasn't very helpful. I walked around for like twenty minutes and finally had to find a salesperson myself and he didn't know crap about anything. He didn't even know what kind of wood the body was and it took another fifteen to twenty minutes to ring me up. What a dumbass! Guitar Center has a lot of cool stuff but the people who work there are assholes and they ignore customers.
I don't know anything about Schecters customer service because I haven't talked to them yet.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for seven years(8th grade)
Right now I own three other electric guitars, a POS plywood series B.C.Rich Warlock, an Epiphone plywood SG, and a conversion Jackson dinky.
If it was stolen I would be really pissed because I would probably never find the person and I would have lost $250. If it were lost I would kick my own ass for being stupid enough to lose a guitar. I couldn't replace it because it is a Guitar Center limited thing.
This is the most amazing $250 guitar I have played. The only guitar I have ever owned that comes close to as nice as this one was my Jackson King V that I payed $620 for in 1996.
Some guitars in the same price range are Bronze series B.C.Riches, some Ibanez, and cheap Epiphones. The Riches and Epis are plywood and sound like poop.
The Blackhawk is the same thing as an Omen6 except for the satin black finish and thorny diamond inlays and. The Omen6 is about $50 more but it comes with a gig bag and the Blackhawk dosen't.
The only things I wish were different about this guitar would be neck-thru and a mahogany body but that would put the price up around a grand.

Made in 2002 in Korea. 24 frets. Volume and tone knobs, 3 way pickup selecter switch. Dual Humbuckers. Duncan designed, passive pickups. Double cutaway body. Basswood body. Cool looking "tribal" inlays. Satin black finish. String-through bridge. A perfect, slim neck.

Sound : 10
Suits any style pefectly because of the tone knob and pickup selecter. Has no noise clean and very little distorted. The warm sound is my favorite part of the guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
At guitar center I had to look through several guitars of this model because some of them had strange set-ups, but the one I got had a great set-up with low, but non-buzzing action.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've only had it for a month, but everything seems rock solid, and not loose.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never delt with Schecter. It has a lifetime warranty.

I,ve been playing 2 years and I also have a Squire. The thing I like the most abouut it is its tone. I play in a punk\hard rock band, and a jazz band. It is perfect for both of those. I would highly recomend for you to buy this guitar.
