I play guitar since 1988; now I'm playin' pop/rock, but I used to play heavy metal. I think the C1 fits both, but I would use it'scristal clear, well balanced full sound expecially with the clear or overdrive sound. Dut distorted il also well docalized.

Well manifactured, but U have to take care of it!

I'm a Stratocaster guy, I mean, I really LOVE Strato's sound! and now I play pop/rock with my band right here in Italy.
But now I'm looking for a really good humb guitar. Obviously I think about a Guibson Les Paul or a Prs, but you all know money is the problem when U look in these directions. But when I first play the C-1 I was illuminated! Like many others here I agree that the sound is brighter than a LP. But you know, if u want a Strat sound, than U have to buy a Strat, and if U want to be Jimi Page no way: U need an LP.
But C1 is good manufactured, very quick, with a brilliant and noisless sound, versatile (of course), and - last but not least - beautiful.
Yes, the inlay is not what I would choose, but isn't SO difficoult to know where U are after a while u're playing.
So I'm saving the money to buy it for Xmas. The only thing I have not decided yet is the color: blue or amber? tey're both beautiful!

I don't know when it was made. Made in Korea and it's a second.. So says the number 2 on the 24th fret. quilt maple top, 2 hummers, JB at the bridge, Duncan 59 at the neck. Laminated neck through, maple & mahogany maybe. Tone-Pros bridge. 2 volume, 1 tone, 5-way. Solid!

This guitar is great! I've had it about 3 years now. Good "Stratish" sounds and a nice jazz voice from tne neck pickup. I have several setups. Usually, I use it in conjuction with a Roland GR20 synth. I feed that to a KBA100 Peavey amp and the guitar straight into a Fender Cyber Champ of Showman Reverb, depending on the venue. This guitar will make any guitar sound I want. I can play Telecaster noises with the JB and Wes Montgomery with the Neck pickup and do it in the same tune. The neck seemed pretty beefy at first...like the old Gibson baseball bat necks. I noticed, about 3 hours later, my hands weren't tired. My only DISLIKE is the orientation of the volume knobs. The knob closest to the strings controls the bridge pickup, the middle knob controls the neck.,, Maybe that's what made this a second... I cant see any other flaws.

perfect perfect perfect.... except the aforementioned volume knob orientation. The new ones are two knobs instead of three.

Dropped it, froze it, left it in the car, fell off the stand. Hell yes !! I carry a backup, but I'd play this without one. Never a problem in the trenches.

Never had a problem. Any issues I have with guitars are handled by a close personal friend who does guitar repairs. His work is flawless. I probably would not take it back to the factory.

I've been playing close to 50 years in every discipline. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. The quality of this guitar speaks well for the entire line. If I didn't have several other guitars available, I'd grab another Schecter model for a backup. I have lots of guitars, amps, mics and effects and I've owned even more.
I LOVE the idea of being able to jump from jazz to blues to country to rock without changing guitars or having to compromise my tone.
This guitar is a remarkable value. Worth every dime.

lots of sustain, not muddy, smooth body and fretworks, the jb pups is just right for me. the distortion is not overpowering thus giving u the chance to be versatile. i believe it can cover all sorts of music. acoustically, u can really feel the guitar is vibrating and resonates from head to toe

its a display guitar but the guitars playability is second to none. this the very characteristic of the guitar that really tempts me to but it. the shop was saying that nobody give an eye on her on its rack. nobody pays attention to her. i wonder why???/ it took me an hour to had it test drive and every passes i did is nothing short of being amazed. its just lovely in its appearance and the orgasmic finish is something u have to die for. i was happy with the setup. harmonics are very evident and did i mention sustain.....it can run a mile more than my Ibanez bolt ons. thanks to the neck thru constraction.

by just the feel of it, its really a solid guitar, built like a tank but i beleive the finish can be scratch easily if not careful with handling. strap buttons is ok as long as u wont do any acrobatic stunts with the guitar, it will hold the weight. tuning stability of this guitar is not something i expected. i abused it for 5 songs and that includes heavy strumming, bending and hard picking but this thing stays in tune.

i have a 2005 schecter c-1 classic, blue quilt top, 24 frets, neck through construction, duncan jb in the bridge, and jazz in the neck. all mahogany, rosewood fretboard with vine of line inlay all the way up the neck. string through body with "locking" t-o-m bridge. earvana compensated graphite nut. 25.5 inch scale. also a 5 way selecter so you can run each humbucker as a single coil with hum cancelling, definately a plus for clean type stuff.

i play thrash metal, and black metal and this guitar fits that style perfectly. you get the thick les paul sound from the thick body and awesome wood used, but you also get a bad lead tone past the 12th fret due to the string thru/neck thru body with killer sustain. with the 5 way selector you can get some strat sounds, but as thick as this guitar is and with the pickups its mainly designed to sound heavy. i love everything about this guitar, only thing i dislike is the weight. i have an ltd thats neck thru with string through body, but it has alder wings on the mahogany neck and its alot lighter, on that guitar i have the same pickups with push/pull coil tapping, but it definately doesnt have that thick mahogany tone.

when i got this guitar it was set up perfect for .09 strings, but i tune down a half step and drop the top string to c# so i had to put .10's on the guitar and adjust the action. also the pickup height wasnt quite where i wanted it, i raised for a little hotter sound. i dont know how thats really a category cause action is all preference, as for fit and finish, no one blemish, and not one rough fret (a big big big problem with fenders these days!!!)

im positive this guitar will withstand live playing, but i always bring a backup, cause it looks cooler to have several guitars, and you never know if a string will break. as for the strap buttons i replaced them with a dimarzio locking strap.

ive played 9 years, i have an ltd h-1000, a 1999 gibson sg standard, and an ibanez rg-7420 prestige. i play through a 5150 with all rackmount effects, and a fender snakeskin cabinet with vin30s. if this guitar were stolen i would find the guy and he would be sorry. i can honestly say i love everything about this guitar and compared to my other guitars it sounds fabulous. there is nothing that can make this guitar better, its made overseas and has better craftsmanship that most american guitars, on top of that its set up in america so it doesnt cost alot and younger musicians can have a nice guitar too. bravo schecter.

I have been playing for around a year now and I have only owned crap guitars before this although I go to play my dads paul a lot but I like this one better. Its got just as much sustain, a better looking finish, and it weighs a million tons less. If someone stole this guitar I would definetly replace it.

If you've read the thread and have done your homework, then I'm sure you know exactly what the features are on this guitar so I won't waste your time and will cut through the chase and give you my opinion. One thing to be made clear is that I have played guitar since the tender age of 10 and am now 47. I've owned every brand name and model of guitar fabricated on this planet. I gave a 9 on features only because you're not able to split the coils (a very small flaw in my opinion). (This axe is made for rock so country players without distortion should look at a Strat).

This guitar is cosmetically gorgeous and great care was taken in it's assembly. I'm very impressed with the guitars that are coming out of Korea now. Great quality, care and also set up at Schecter's shop in the US. One thing I'd like to say is that I bought this axe as a back up to which it still serves it's purpose but I have a 1996 Shecter Custom Shop California Classic and I compare every guitar I play to this. I've owned 5 PRS's, various Gibson's (including a Les Paul Custom Black Beauty), many Fenders, Ibanez and Jackson guitars. I still have the Schecter Custom and the Classic (that says a lot). It's not all about the brand name but rather the feel of the guitar and response to your playing ( a glove to the hand so to speak). I have set the action lower, thrown a new set of .009's on and adjusted the neck and the action is great. Don't waste your money on an Epi but rather the Classic because it is the best bang for the $$$$ out of Korea today.

2005 Model, brand new.
All of the features mentioned in many of the reviews.
The SD pick-ups and the 5 way selection switch give this guitar 5 distinct voices. You can get solid Les Paul crunch and Strat Funky twang. The String-thru really gives this guitar some extremely long sustain. I was also amazed at how light this axe is. The finish and inlay work is perfect. Grover tuners top it off. I am not giving this a 10 because I believe all Guitars can have something added to make better, on this I am just not sure what that would be.

Plugged into an old 1978 Peavey Classic Tube with 2 twelves. I have an array of pedals too. This bad boy sings with clean chime. I was amazed at the low end. All of the effects sounded amazing. For the first time I was able to really hear a full spectrum of sound from every chord. Cranked up, this axe supplies all the sustain and sound that will make any tube amp rumble with joy. I have not yet plugged it into my Fender Princeton 65 (solid state)but will do so this evening. The harmonics are also very present throughout the neck.

I am not sure if this was set-up at the store, but it is set perfectly. Very low action. The frets are smooth at the edges which makes movement up and down a dream. The inlay work is simply amazing considering the price. The birdseye maple top is perfectly stained (to a tobacco sunburst). The binding is also well done. I was not able to find one flaw with this finish. As with all my Gold hardware guitars, I am sure the pickups and bridge will rub away with time. I expect this.

This was a gift from my Wife and Kids for Christmas. I have gone into the store and drowled over this and other Schecters for years. I still can not believe I own this baby. I have many guitars by many manufacturers (Epiphone, Ibanez, Fender, Cort, Washburn, Teisco DelRay...) and can honestly say this is the best guitar for the price. If stolen, I would hope that I would be able to control myself and not hunt the MF'er down and string him up. I would replace it ASAP. You can go spend $2,000 on a Guitar for the name, but nothing at this price range will match this guitar. Schecter will be the next Fender in 20 years.

I want to add my voice to the others who highly esteem the beauty of this guitar. However, the pots on mine are sorely in need of replacement, and some of the gold hardware has already lost some of its luster. True, it was inexpensive compared to other guitars with similar features, but not that inexpensive to justify cheaper parts. I would have liked more tone control as well.

I?ve plugged the C-1 Classic into a V-Amp Pro, a Roland BC-60, a Mesa Boogie Lone Star Special, Mark IV, and Rectifier. I like the way this guitar resonates against my ribcage. The five distinct ?voices? that are to be had by using the selector switch are very good, but to my ears they are somewhat unrealized or are lacking fullness of character. I suppose definition is the definitive word here.

The fit is fitting and the finish is fine. I don?t completely like the feel of the fret board; compared to other electrics I?ve played, it can at times feel awkward to maneuver upon. The distance between the strings and the fret board is of course adjustable.

Obviously the C-1 Classic is not a ?perfect fit? for me, but I don?t want to leave the impression that I regret buying this guitar, after all, an 8 is far from a 2. I simply now know better the particulars of what I personally want from an electric guitar, and the C-1 Classic meets many, but not all of those points.

I'll skp the details as I'd just be repeating what's already been said below. The 5 way selector is nice although I only use the neck or bridge (1 or 5) but they all sound great with the Semour Duncan's. This guitar has all the features I need to play blues or heavy music. Couldn't ask for more.

Sounds unbelievable on a Mesa F-30 and a Hot Rod Deville. I play a lot of blues so I go straight through without any pedals. The neck pickup is full and smooth. Every fret sounds great. My previous Gibson - the higher frets didn't sound as clean. LOTS of sustain on the Schecter. Really nice having that neck-thru design.

Beautifully set up. The action is a little low if you want to play slide - and I'm hoping I can get that adjusted a bit. It's not to the point where you can't play slide - it's just a little more touchy. Other than that it's perfect.

I've been playing 10 years. I also own a special make USA made Gibson II solid body. The schecter is much nicer and is not USA made. I would buy this guitar again if something happened to it. The Jazz/JB pickup combo is awesome. They sound great with this guitar. I love the versatility of this guitar. Blues sound awesome on a clean tube amp. I also enjoy playing heavy drop D metal and it sounds awesome as well. I can get a near perfect Stephen Carpenter tone and a near perfect Warren Haynes tone. Two opposite styles and one guitar. What more do I need to say? It's a sweet guitar.

I play this beauty through a crate stack and it sounds incredible.
If it was stolen I would listen to My chemical romance and slit my wrists. And then buy one again in my next life.
Completely owns my brothers Gibson SG and my friends Ibanez RG.
In my opinion tremelos suck, all they do is make your guitar go out ogf tune (unless you own an Ibanez JEM).
