My Diamond series is a strat type from 2004 and built in in south korea. Its absolute the best guitar i ever played. It is just like an expensive boutique guitar from labels like Prs or suhr. Its just cheaper cause its korean built. It is built the whole guitar in flammie maple wood and have a humbucker and two singel coils from schecter and a push/pull tone control wich give 20 diffrent guitar sounds. The tremolo is a wilkinson and it is good as hell. Same with the tuners wich is shecters own with locks. The guitar included with hardcase, picks and cable.

Sound : 10
I play mainly Neoclassical Metal and have a old school rock band and play Jazz, Funk and Blues at school. It covers it all up with its 20 guitar sounds and all of them sounds amazing!. At clean it can realy sound fat and jazzy, Acoustic and blusey. And distorted it have all sounds to from metal, fusion, rock and blues. The amp i play is a simple peavey envoy nothing special at all and cost me just 1800 swedish kronor (around 170-180$) But its just sounds amazing! I added just a simple behringer chorus and delay and it sounds like something you would use for a proffesional recording.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar was set up perfect and were in mint condition. The only ding was on the middle pickup. I just picked it up and dropped my jaws and bought it! No deffects at all. Just splendid!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I could stand a whole gig with and own the stage with it whitout backup! Every thing is still perfect even if its 4 years old. Just like new. Its rock solid!

Customer Support : 10
I never dealt with schecter. But the shop i bought it at is called Mug and lies in Gothenburg. And the crew was so friendly and took on new strings and polished it. They also took down the price and gave all inclussive with the guitar!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 4 years really serious and live of playing guitar. My other gear i use is Ibanez Blazer 1983, Squier affinity and some acoustic Ibanez, Peavey envoy, Behringer ultra chorus and Behringer digtal delay. If it were stolen i would hunt the thief to the end of the earth and torture him really badly. If i wouldnt find him then the only guitar i could compare it to would be a Prs or Suhr. My other choices i had before i bought it was i Fender Stratocaster Japan 1987 and Fender Thinline Telecaster Japan. When i tried the Schecter there was no doubt about buying it!

I bought this guitar in 2001 or 2002 brand new. Came with duncan designed HB-103 humbuckers. Suppose to mimic the sh-6 duncan distortion. 24 frets, grover tuners, blue finish, diamond inlays, 3-way switch, 1 volume and 1 tone knob. c or u shaped neck which is a bolt on maple, i believe it is a 2 piece. jumbo frets, rosewood fingerboard. string through body.

Sound : 8
The stock pickups were pretty good for duncan designed but i switched them out for EMG's H4 passive pickup which is suppose to be the equivalent of the EMG 81. I would say that neither of these pickups are GREAT but they dont sound bad by any means. They are both good for distortion or overdrive at all levels. EmG's more than HB-103's. The Hb 103's are brighter than the emg's which is better for clean. Overall sound is good. better for rhythm than leads. leads tend to be a little thin even in the neck position. I think it's the guitar and not so much the pickups. Some frets ring out longer than others.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
You cannot judge a manufacturers quality in setup if you did not purchase it straight through them. This guitar had been sitting on Guitar Center's floor for who knows how long before i bought it. Additionally, when i bought the guitar i was not as experienced with guitars as i am now. I am reviewing this guitar based on the way I can set this guitar up. So with that being said, I think this guitar plays extremely well. The action is nearly perfect, the frets are smooth on the edges, intonates well, stays in tune well(however i dont bend too much, just mainly play rhythm, finish looks good, average weight, feels great to play. I have set this guitar up to the way i like it which is low action and this guitar buzzes less than probably any other guitar i have ever played. Including $3000 gibsons and Prs guitars. Of course it could just be the setup. I have had many players play my guitar and they are always amazed on how great it plays.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Both pots crackle, when tuning, the strings tend to tighten in larger increments than i would want. Input jack and 3-way switch tend to come loose over time. which seems pretty normal to me on a cheaper guitar. Neck is still straight as can be after 7 years(with adjustments of coarse). I would just recommend high ratio tuners, new nut, high quality pots(have a professional install them), and strap locks. After that, keep this guitar well kept and it should last you just as long as anything else.
HARDWARE-5
CRAFTMENSHIP-9
i will average the two for a total of 7

never dealt with their customer service.

Been playing for ten years. Critical on sound. I recommend this guitar for anyone playing alternative rock and harder. Anything softer or cleaner, you might want to look into a fender strat or tele. Those are the best for clean in my opinion. For under $500 it is a great guitar.

I recieved this guitar in December of 2006. Reading the other reviews - I gather they have changed this guitar for the better. It has a Tonepros bridge, Bolt-on neck, 25.5 scale, 24 jumbo frets, basic white dot fret markers, Duncan Designed Active HB-105 pickups (Bridge and Neck), 3 way switch, 2 Volume 1 tone knobs, Schecter tuners, Mahogany body, Rosewood/Maple neck/fingerboard, and a gloss black finish.

Sound : 10
I play Metal and Rock mostly. Schecter makes good guitars for crushing metal, so of course it does the job for me. The bridge pickup has a Rich/Thick sound to it, while the neck pickup sounds more bright but still pretty rich. I use a Berhinger Noise Gate (Boss NS-2 copy), a Digitech XMM Metal Master (deep distortion folks), digital reverb pedal. The pickups are sort of loud and a little noiser than EMG actives, so I'd say you need a noise gate for good quality crunch or turn the volume down a little. Harmonics fly on this beauty. I run this thru a Marshall AMP and also a V-Amp 2 (Modern Hi Gain setting sounds nice with it) and for the price I paid, I give it a 10.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was setup well at the factory, good action for metal, pretty straight neck. Pickups were a little off and half a cm too high (big deal, right?). The guitar was new, shiny, and in perfect condition. Came with a battery in and with D'Addario mediums. Another thing - the battery panel had a stripped screw, so now it's sort of a hinge for the other screw (no fuss)

Reliability/Durability : 10
Schecters make durable guitars and will take a beating. I've bumped my headstock HARD a few times on the ceiling (i'm tall) and it didn't make a scratch. The strap buttons are great. I'd use it for live playing without question.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to deal with them thus far.

I've been playing for 10 to 12 years and I have to say this is a great axe for jamming out... especially for the guitarist on a budget. If it were stolen i'd be pissed... if it were my only i'd buy it again (Probably best in the 0-400 price range i've played.) I love everything about it. It handles a little like a les paul would, which is a preference of mine. I don't care for non-fixed bridges and never use a tremolo bar, so the absence of one didn't bother me. Great guitar for the price. If you have 650, get the Hellraiser C1. 9.5/10 (so I put 10). This guitar has put me on to Schecter big time.

2001 model schecter c-1, bought it early 2002, not one of the set neck's though. still a bolt on at this point..i think everybody pretty much covered all the features...the only complaint i had with this guitar were the pickups...i was not a fan, so i switched them out with a pair of duncan's, specifically the JB/Jazz set. also will eventually get a new nut put on there, and might end up redoing the electronics as well. but at this point, everything's holding up fine.

Sound : 7
i use this guitar as an all purpouse rock machine. i'm running it through a crate Blue Voodoo 6212, and this thing can scream, growl, and rip with the best of them. if you switch over to a clean channel, roll down the volume, roll down the tone, toss on the neck pickup, you can get yourself a nice, deep, fat tone...nice. like all of it, except the 3 way switch is faulty some times, and i've had to resolder both leads running to the output jack.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
the guitar was set up quite well...i tweaked it when i got it, to get it right to the perfect height and everything. the one thing i was surprised about though, is the quality of the fretwork. most guitars i've played in this price range have sharp edges on the frets...not this guitar. frets were done up perfectly...i've addressed all my other complaints before, about the electronics.

Reliability/Durability : 10
yeah, i've played with this guy live a couple times, held up quite well. everything on the guitar is quality...i'd just like coil taps, and a better 3-way switch, but that's about it. since this guitar is so heavy, i reccomend everyone to install a set of straplocks...hell...every guitar should have straplocks, but that's just my thought. other than what's been said before, this axe is a real keeper, and it's gonna last me for many more years.

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't had to talk to them.

Overall Rating : 10
for the past 3 years, this guitar has been rock solid. it's held up well, except for the 3 way switch, and the leads to the output jack, but those are easily fixed. if this guy was stolen, i dunno, i'm not sure if i could find another one like it. obviously i'd look and try and replace this guitar, but it might not happen. the only thing that i think this guitar could benefeit from is coil taps...but i like coil taps, so that might just be me. and such a quality axe for $320 with hard case...can't go wrong. too bad schecter stopped making them...

C-1 Diamond Series. Electric blue finish. 2 'Duncan Designed' Humbuckers, 3-way selector swich, 24 frets. I purchased it in 1998, don't know when it was made, but I bought it new.

Sound : 7
The guitar sounds decent enough. I've played it through an old, beat-to-hell Yamaha 120-watt combo, a Laney tube combo, and a Tech 21 Trademark 60. It's never sounded amazing, but it has a nice growly tone, and when you roll the tone all the way down on the neck pickup, you can get a pretty sweet, fat solo sound. It also works pretty well with an eBow...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
The finish is really pretty, and it has a cream binding around the body. The factory set-up was pretty good, considering I've never had it adjusted or anything (I haven't gigged much at all the last few years). It has developed some minor tuning instability, but again, it's probably my fault for not having it tuned up by a pro.

HOWEVER, I do have a couple of complaints - the nut has fallen off, and the housing for one of the pickups is cracked, AND, worst of all, the electronics, which have always been kind of iffy, are starting to totally crap out - I've taken the thing apart, and I can't find where the loose wire or soldering is, but it's in there.

Reliability/Durability : 4
I have played one or two gigs with this thing, and it made it through. however, with my recent problems (detailed above), I would NOT use this as a primary guitar at a gig. Luckily, I just bought a Telecaster Deluxe (the 72 reissue model), so this C-1 will be relegated to an emergency guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
don't know. never tried to reach them.

Overall Rating : 6
I've been playing for 20 years, but I've never been much of a gearhead. I bought this guitar because it was on sale, I needed an electric but didn't have much cash, and I had heard good things about Schecter's Korean operation. I would say that I got my money's worth, but I would only recommend this to someone who was short on cash or a beginner. It is not a pro-level guitar, unless you want to invest in new electronics, etc.

After reading the below entry, I feel I have to agree. I have a 1998 Silver top C-1 and have compared it to a 2002 model in my local guitar store... the newer models SUCK compared to the old ones, not to mention that they lack the abalone fret inlays of the old ones. The stock pickups aren't all that great, but they're better than some. I plan on sticking a Seymour Duncan SH-6 Distortion in the bridge and a SH-2 Jazz in the neck... pretty good combo there.

But thats the best bit of advice you can get if you're getting a C-1: try to find an older model.

just another update here, I'm the one with the lime green one, put a classic 57' in the bridge (already commented) and now put a gibson
p-94 in the bridge, so smooth so wonderful. this pick up config. is so versitle it's just amazing really. get those horrible duncun designed out of your guitar and let it breathe life, I promise you will wonder how you delt with those horribhle pickups before.

on another note, I bought a 2002 c-1 and it was nothing compared to my 98, they were mountains apart my 98 is much more solid. just a much better guitar. if you can find an old one go for it, the new ones are much cheaper in quality

Alright, first off, this is the best guitar I have ever played. Made in Korea, it sounds exactly like the Jerry Horon, which is like $500 more. Black paint w/ creame body binding (and I put chrome covers on the Duncan Designed pickups), came with gig bag...all for under $300

Wow.

Sound : 9
I play heavy rock, metal, punk, blues, Hendrix, anything. Clean could use improvement, but I'm mostly in overdrive anyway. OD sounds great, very dark, extremely thick lows and thin highs...which is OK

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Musician's Friend did a really good job of fixing this up. out of the box it was already to go. no flaws, exept that the 24th fret is thin

Reliability/Durability : 10
This thing feels like its built like a rock. It is sooooooo light though...especially compared to the crappy american Strat i was going to get... this guitar converted me. Black looks like it goes for miles, and the creme dosen't look like its going anywhere soon.

I have been playing for four years. I sold a mex. Telecaster in the hope of buying a used US strat...but as I said before, it was heavy, thin, and besides, tremelos SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!anyway i play this trough a Fender Frontman 15r amp which i ocasionally hook up to my friend's 200w Marshall stack.

Features : 10
This guitar has every feature I wanted in a guitar. 24 frets, rosewood fretboard, mahogany body, bolt-on neck, 2 Duncan-Designed pickups (great pickups!), one volume and one tone control, strings thru body, no whammy bar, black in color, something other than dots for inlays (has cool diamonds)... This guitar is 100% perfect feature-wise for me, so I must give it a 10 here.

Sound : 10
I have owned the following guitars in the past: Fender Stratocaster, Ibanez S-Series (2), Ernie Ball Axis Super Sport, Gibson Les Paul Studio. None of these guitars, despite some costing more than double, sounded as good as this one. I play through a Hughes & Kettner Club Reverb amplifier and have in the past owned a Fender amp, a Crate solid-state, a Marshall Valvestate, a Peavey 5150, and a Rivera Knucklehead. The Schecter and Hughes & Kettner amp, for under $750 total, is the best-sounding combo I have come across. I use the neck pickup on this guitar for clean sounds and for leads. I use the bridge pickup for rhythm. The middle-position I don't use much, but on clean it sounds nice.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This is the best setup on a new guitar I have seen. Usually manufacturers set the strings too high in my opinion. These ones were perfect height - I haven't felt a need to adjust them. The only thing I didn't like was the pickup heights. I know pickup height is a personal opinion, but I like mine raised quite a bit (I have raised them on every guitar I have owned). So I'll take off one point for the pickups being too low. The sound was somewhat more dull before I raised them - now the sound is perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Very well-built guitar. I trust it a lot more than my Les Paul I used to own. My first three guitars (Fender, 2 by Ibanez) all had major problems with things breaking or coming apart. I fear no such thing with this guitar. I like the large strap buttons - no need for strap-locks like I had on the Les Paul. Some people complain about the large frets. I have no problem with them. The neck feels very nice too.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I would give this more than a 10 if possible. For $300 brand new I can't believe I have such an awesome guitar. Please check one of these out if you are looking for a nice guitar, even if you own ones that cost over $1000 like I used to. I sold all of my past equipment and have a heck of a lot of money now...

i play anything from alternative to punk and i play a little blues. it sounds great with my Korg effects pedal and my Crate amp. i have owned this guitar for about 2 months now and have not experienced any problems with noiseyness or buzzing. i have owned a fender strat and an ibanez GAX-70 and this guitar is deffinetly the best sounding one i have owned.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the action is great, surprisingly better than a strat i tried out for about 3 times the price. the color is a shiny deep blue with a creme colored binding. the neck is almost perfect as well with a nice rosewood fretboard and maple on the back.

i havent had any problems playing with it at any shows.

i have been playing for almost 4 years and have owned 3 guitars including this one, and it is by far the best one. i have tried many more expensive guitars than this one but i fell in love with it after playing it for a minute. it suits my playing style perfectly and i dont think i will have to buy a new guitar for a long time. this will deffinetly be a guitar that i keep for as long as i play.

I'm not sure what year it was made, but i'm guessing 2000 or 2001. It's Korean made, it has a three way selector, a tone and volume knob, two stock duncan humbuckers, i'm pretty sure that the neck is rosewood and i know the back of the neck is maple, it has the diamond prints on the neck like most of the diamond series, the body style resembles a PRS almost like a strat, the strings go through the body, and it has 24 jumbo frets. It is a dark blue, i think the stock name is called electric blue, it has cream binding which in my opinion along with the body style makes it a beautiful looking guitar. The only reason i didn't give it a ten is it didin't include any accessories.

Sound : 8
This guitar sounds really warm and deep. I play alternative rock/ hard rock/funk/punk. I use a little fender amp that has one tweleve inch speaker and either play it clean or with distortion. The amp is really cheap, but easy to carry around and can play over amps twice its size, and most of the guitars i have sound great with it. The pickups aren't noisy (my strat is noisier). I can get a wide variety of sounds through it and its sustain is unbelievable. i haven't played around with it too much so i haven't had times to find any dislikes, but i'm not expecting many.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I'm amazed with it's set-up. The action was low, but the frets didn't buzz. The finish was perfect, no scratches, everything was in good shape. Pretty average

Reliability/Durability : 9
I haven't had this guitar very long, but everything seems like i could withstand years of touring. The finish seems thick. The strap buttons are very solid. I'm sure i can depend on it. I wouldn't play a gig without a backup ever, but if i had to with one of my guitars i would use this one. The only problem i came across was there was a wire that was loose or wasn't attached properly, something like that and it wouldn't always carry the sound to the amp, but it fixed itself, i had this problem in the first hour after i bought it, but it hasn't done anything sense then. I called the store where i bought it from and they said to keep the guitar and they are ordering the exact model, color, ect... as the one i have and will ship it to me free of cost. I thought that was nice. no hassels

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them directly

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 6 years, and i have owned several strats. My best guitar being a fender lonestar strat with two single coil pick ups and one humbucker with one five way selecter, two tone and one volume knob, rosewood neck, american made, anyway a pretty decent guitar twice as expensive as this one. Anyway the Schecter is easier to play, has better sounds, is defiently more derable, just overall a better guitar and for half the price, i was surprised. I've shopped and tried out so many different brands and so far i've found this guitar overall one of the best especially for the money.

I bought this at a guitar center a year ago. It's a deep red. I really like the color. It's got chrome plated duncan humbuckers. It looks like a PRS cept its larger and bulkier. But PRS's are small so its a normal sized guitar. It has a 3 way pickup selector.

Sound : 7
I play metal. It has a pretty decent sound in the bridge position, there is nothing super specal about it. The pickups are very run of the mill. It doesnt make a bit of noise. The middle and back positions are sort of thick and toneless. The middle is the one i use for clean, the neck position one has no character. You can get a lot of good harmonics out of it though. If you play around with the pickups you can definatly get a good powerful sound out of it for metal and any sort of hardrock. If you are looking for a good clean tone though you may have a little more trouble. I am a big fan of telecaster clean though so in my mind it's a different ballpark altogether.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This is where i would definatly say that it comes through as a guitar. It definatly dominates over any jackson or ibanez as far as flexiility. Ibanez are realy good for lead's but you can't get that really thick smooth feeling that is good for rhythm. This guitar is definatly one of the fewer guitars ive plyed that is good for both. you loose some leads up really high and the 24th fret is pathetically small...but the rhythm is great. I use 11 gauge Elixers so i can have the wound g and the nice smoothness of the Elixer strings. Its action was very well set up by the factory and it is a very nicely finished guitar. My only complaint really would be that the 24th fret is pretty small and the upper register is a little crowded....but who religiously uses the 24th fret??

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is also a good thing about this guitar. It's really really nice with tuning. The first week i had it,i dropped it on the floor of my friends garage and i thought " ohh great, maybe i should just start throwing money at people when they run by, that would be an easier way to be out 600 bucks." But it actually bounced backu into my hands. It landed on the input and bent it in slightly...but it didnt affect it at all. The finish on the back of the neck seems to be relaly realy solid too. figured by now it would have gotten really unsmooth from playing it so much, but its remained the same.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I asked Schecter to make it travel through time...they have yet to get back to me on the wiring ideas.

Overall Rating : 8
i want to stress this point. Paul Reed Smith is a jerk-off and i hope Mark Tremonti's blood turns to glass. Those guitars are overpriced as crud. In my opinion this guitar outplays a PRS. Ive never been too impressed with the old PRS guitar myself though so i guess my opinion doesnt matter. This guitar is realy cool, but i may trade it in on a Heritage. Those are sweet, and im getting tired of seeing this guitar in the video for "she loves me not." Jerry Horton and i arent on speaking terms. Id rather just have a Les Paulish guitar, cause im starting to get bored with this one. But seriously if you havent owned one they are worth it.

Solid body guitar, mahagony body, maple neck with ebony fretboard, 24 frets, two duncan design passive humbuckers, one volume and one tone control. Looks similar to a PRS but not exactly. Completely black including hardware, with a cream binding. Grover non-locking tuners, string-thru body bridge. The neck feels similar to a strat.

Sound : 8
This guitar suits my music style well, which is mainly hard rock/nu metal/alternative. That is the style of music I play in my bands, but I play pretty much everything from AC/DC to Eric Clapton to Linkin Park to Creed. I use the bridge pickup mainly for distorted sounds, and it sounds great, though it's not that les paul sound. I get a thick sound without very much feedback for hi gain settings. You can get decent clean sounds out of the bridge pickup, but I prefer the neck for most of my clean tones. I like nice warm clean sounds and I can get them very well with the neck pickup. I play this guitar through a Line 6 spider 212 which is a decent amp. With my setup I can get most sounds I want except for signature single coil sounds sice it only has humbuckers.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Cosmetically this guitar was in good condition when I got it (I should hope so, since I bought it new)but the G string continually went out of tune. I will describe why in the next section. The action was fairly good and it seemed to be set up well except for that one problem

Reliability/Durability : 3
This is where this guitar falls short. The big problem I had with this guitar from the time I got it was the G string would not stay in tune, not matter what. The music store I bought it from had a bunch of morons who didn't even play guitar running it and they just kept saying things like change your strings, or maybe you don't know how to put on string properly. It took me pointing the problem out to them three times and explaining why it was wrong and what had to be done to fix it before they came to their senses. The problem was with the screw which adjusted the saddle in the bridge for the G string. It was missing a metal ring, which was supposed to be pressed fit on, that keeps the saddle in place. Without this ring the saddle is free to move as it wants. Each time the saddle moves,it changes the tension on the string and puts it out of tune. After I got the guitar fixed (it took almost a year) it still isn't working perfectly. I don't know how pros like Jerry Horton use this guitar. It must have entirely different hardware. I still can't keep it intonated and it is alway going out of tune.

Customer Support : 1
The customer support at schecter is virtually non-existent. It took me almost a year to get my guitar fixed and the first time they sent it back exactly the same as it went there. The didn't even appear to touch it, although they claimed it was fixed. When I talked to them on the phone they talked back as if I was doing something wrong and the guitar was in perfect working order. They tried to make me seem like a bad guy. I even had the guy I was talking to raise his voice as if he was trying to get me in trouble or something. This was the worst customer support I have ever experienced. They also tried to get me to pay for the repairs even though my guitar was supposed to be under warranty

Overall Rating : 3
I actually like this guitar, but I can't keep it because it has problems constantly arising and the customer support is bullshit. I would not reccomend buying this guitar simply because of reliability and customer support being so bad. Honestly, people should stick with companies that have good reputation such as fender and gibson. I didn't and I ended up getting screwed, but I have learned my lesson. I have been playing guitar for 6 years and previously owned two yamaha guitars and a fender strat. I have never had the kinds of problems with those guitars that I had with this one. I am only 17 so this guitar was a big investment for me, and I am completely unsatisfied with this purchase

this is just a little update I put a gibson classic 57 in the bridge and WOW!!!!!! I feel like the control of my playing went up 20 notches the strings are a lot more balenced and it really complimentes the guitar both visually and sound wise I strongley recommend trying this pickup in this guitar it sounds wonderful.
I was the one with the lime grean one had it since 98 and I love now more than ever. I'll give another update when I replace the neck but for now I like the muddy sound.

Judging by the serial number it was made in 1999, most probably Schecter outlets in Korea. 24 medium jumbo frets, dark rosewood fingerboard, maple bolt-on neck, strings through body design for better sustain. Body is made of solid mahogany, upon closer inspection there seem to be some large sound holes in the body itself - knocking in upper and lower "horns" for example gives more resonating sound than rest of the body. Guitar comes with black Diamond Series gig bag.

Sound : 7
Unplugged guitar sounds dark and very quiet. Duncan Designed pickups are not too bad for this price range but although each string sounds perfectly separated in riffs there is a lot of unnecessary "dirt" in final sound. I think natural sound of this guitar itself should rather be paired with either harsh, bluesy pickups, maybe even Seth Lovers or solid and more bright "high gain metal" pups. Also since the slightly resonating nature of the body original pups pick up too much noise from the body - you could practicaly tap rhytm on the neck and hear it full volume in the amp. One note - despite what they tell you in high street shops there is no factory coil tapping installed in C1 model.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The only bit I disliked was that my guitar came with neck screwed to the body in a slight angle, which means someone at the factory just didn't care and ruined customers first approach to this otherwise pretty good guitar. Action is fairly low, not as low as Gibsons can go, but it's OK. I can't say I found any flaws - midnight blue finish is amazing, hardware is fantastic, it's hard to believe this guitar is sold below #500.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's solid. Very solid.

I play guitar since I can remember. Got my first accoustic when I was 8 or 9. When I was 18 I ordered myself dark transparent green speedster from local luthier and this hand made axe has lasted untill now - 10 years and counting. I play metal. I had many serial guitars in my hands, mostly for very short period of time - this will be the first serial guitar I'm gonna keep. It might take time for me to get used to Schecter's bridge which doesn't offer much support for muting hand except its sharp and edgy string saddles. The neck on this thing is absolute perfection, one the best I had a chance to touch in my life. Grover machineheads keep in tune even after few long hours of pulling and bending. Whole guitar is very light and superbly balanced. I'm surprised with price of this thing. I think I'm going to buy more Schecter models.

This guitar was made 20001 and is pretty basic two humbucker, bolt on two octave neck, with a body style similar to Jackson dinky or PRS Santana. The strings are through body, with grover tuners. There is a 3 way pick up selector, with one volume and one tone knob. Knobs and hardware are black finish and the guitar body is deep blue.Frets are Medium Jumbo. Price included gig bag. I find the neck is very nicely sized to my hand size. I have rather stockey hands and this guitar has the best feeling neck I have ever played. I also own A Gibson SG, Ibanez Artist, Ibanez Les Paul, and Fender Strat.

Sound : 10
I really like the sound that this guitar has. It has a full tone, not ice pick highs but still bright sounding on the neck pick up, with very smooth distortion. Easy to induce pick/thumb muted harmonics when playing lead, good full sound for rymthm. I purchased this guitar at Guitar Center and tried every Schecter model they had. I also tried 3 different Jackson models, a PRS Santana model, and a Gibson Les Paul and found the sound and playability of this guitar to be superior. (I hated to admit this to myself because I liked the looks of several of these other models considerably better.) I hate to give anything a 10 when rating but this is honestly one of the best sounding guitars I have ever played.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 4
The finish of this guitar is acceptable but not a work of art by any means. The setup of the guitar was crap. I lowered the strings, and readjusted the pickup height the first hour I had it. (I readjust every guitar I buy to suit me anyway so I wasn't overly concerned with setup at time of purchase.)

Reliability/Durability : 6
It appears that they used decent parts when building this guitar and I don't expect any problems. Lifetime warranty to original owner.

I have been playing guitar about 25 years, I own several different guitars and find myself playing this guitar 40 to 50% of the time. I like this guitar as much as my Gibson SG and that says a lot. If this guitar was stolen I would not hesitate to buy another one. I am not crazy about the looks of this guitar, but when I close my eyes and get into what I'm playing this guitar almost seems to play itself. What more can I say.

24 frets, rosewood fingerboard, 2 Duncan Designed humbuckers, maple neck, mahogany body, silver top finish, string thru body, Grover tuners, gig bag included.

The body of this guitar looks really nice. It has a light silver, almost white, finish with sparkles for the top, and it's black on the sides and back with cream binding. The fingerboard looks nice also. The tuners are really effective and it's easy to tune with them.

Sound : 9
All I've used this guitar for is playing metal, both lead and rhythm. I use a Marshall AVT 20 amp with this and it sounds really nice for both. It sounds pretty rich with distortion. With this guitar it is easy to do harmonics too.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
This guitar doesn't seem to be set up that well. The fingerboard had some flaws on it, and some miniscule scratches on the hardware. The low E string can cause some fret buzz when hit mildly hard.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar will withstand live playing. It's pretty solid. The tuners are good, the strap buttons are good, the finish seems durable, the strings are awesome, so I'd depend on it.

I love the sound, the way it looks, but the low E string can be irritating. Too many little flaws.

Made in Korea (Yes, I know, but still, it rules.), 24 frets, H/H, (Duncan Designed), Passive Electronics.

Gotta take a moment here to comment on the rosewood fingerboard. It's STUNNING.

A mix of chocolate and light browns, looks really antique, lots of color.. its undescribable. Just beautiful. The guitar itself is gloss black, with a cream binding, all black controls. Looks great. String thru-body style, Strat/Wolfgang hybrid.. kinda.. shape. Neck is thick and beefy, but.. still very playable by us SnS's. (Short and Stubby fingers).

Tuners are non-locking, but it dosent matter. It was tuned at the shop. Brought it home. Played it for 6 hours. Still in tune. Jumbo frets, cool 3D looking... pearloid diamond inlays.

Controls are nice too. Responsive tone, and responsive vol.

3 way pickup selector. (N, Split, B)

no included accessories.

This is your "less is more" guitar. Simple, and rockin..

(Floyd on my Ibanez was annoying me)

It gets a 10.

Why? While it dosent do much, what it does do, it does really well.

Sound : 10
I play Prog rock, in the vein of Queensryche, and some Halen. Works very well for both. I can see how people want to replace the pickups. If you need to get any meaner than.. lets say... Humans Being, by Halen, the stocks arent for ye.

Been running it through my Line 6 Flextone 2 Plus, set to the rectifier mode. I can really nail Eddie's Brown Sound with this axe. INSANE harmonics.

Really rich sound. Low, heavy, buttery bottom end. yet the top end screams and sings.

Not a hum out of the damn thing.

This one also gets a 10.

Sounds better than my Ibanez RG770, and hell, It can nail Operation Mindcrime, AND get the Brown Sound, so.. shit. 10 it is.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Guitar was set up nice when I got it. Low action, some buzz, but thats to be expected. Not enough to come through the amp. Pickups are routed fine. It all looks good. Theres one small.. indent on the guitar finish, but honestly, I cant tell wether its supposed to be there or not. Give it a 9.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Sure will withstand live playing. Very lightweight, everything looks sturdy. Finish looks like it's fine, unless you're a messy picker, and then it would wear, obviously. Strap buttons are wide and thick. That strap aint goin nowhere. I would depend on it. Looks good.

And no. Never gig without a backup. Ever.

Been playing for several years. I also used to own an Ibanez RG770, which I traded in for this one here, because the floyd was starting to annoy me.

Very happy with my purchase.

If this guitar was stolen, I would cry like a little chinese schoolgirl.

Then I would go purchase another one.

The guitar truly looks great, when its all polished up, and the light hits it. It glows.

Its a VERY light guitar. (For you people who have played Ibanex RG's. its lighter than that. I'd say about 3-4 pounds.)

I actually was debating between this here, and a Wolfgang.

And.. god damnit, ill say it right now. This guitar hits eddie's sound better than Eddie's guitar.

Like to plug ECM while I have the chance.

brand new, made in 2000. i think it was made in Korea, but i pulled that sticker off right when i got. it has 24 frets with diamond inlays, very nice. i don't relly need 24 frets, but hey, i'll take 'em. it has 2 humbuckers, a volume, a tone, and a 3-way switch(neck/both/hum). the pick-ups are duncan design and aren't that great. the body is solid mahogany, the neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard. so it's not really neck heavy, which is really good, cuz the ibanez i had before this (GAX70) would dive bomb for the floor is i let go of the neck, which was not cool. the finish rules. it's silver satin. it doesn't need to be polished and dust and fingerprints don't really show up, so no polishing necessary. the body style is kind of a miz between a strat and a prs, so it's realy nice. it's even got the raised part in the middle and on the horns like a prs. its got a tune-o-matic but no stop tail, the strings got into the body to enhace sustain. the tuners are grover and stay in tune pretty good. the neck scale is 24 3/4" (like a les paul) and is really comfortable. it reminds me of an ibanez neck, which are the nicest necks i've ever played (on the more expensive models). i'm not to sure what size the frets are, i think they're jumbo, but they might be medium. whatever they are they're cool. it came with a gig bag. oh ya, all the hardware is black, which looks really cool with the black hardware.

Sound : 8
my styles are metal, hard rock, some punk, classic rock, and heavy. it can do all of these nicely, although the pick-ups aren't great and aren't quite heavy enough for me so the metal and heavy stuff don't sound right. i;m going to change the pick-ups eventually. it's got humbuckers, so it's not noisy. it's got kind of a bright sound, which i don't like too much, i'd rather a darker one which i can kinda get when i turn the tone down. but the pick-ups still aren't bad for stock, but i could do better. but with the mahogany body, they still sound pretty good.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
the set up is great. straight neck, as far as i can tell it's intonation is fine, the action is low with hardly any buzz, which i like. like i said before, the pick-ups aren't great, but not bad for stock. the bride is fine. the creme binding on the side is cool, but it would be even cooler if it was black. they're is 1 or 2 extremely minor flaws in the finish, but nothing anybody would notice unless they really examined it. i have a tendency to spot those things.

Reliability/Durability : 10
i haven't played live with it yet, only in my basement. but i think it could definitely survive, i mean, the guy from Papa Roach uses them. the hardwares seems fine. the finish is great, but the black paint on the top of the saddles on the bridge is starting to rub of from palm muting, but only the part i touch so no big deal. the strap buttons are solid, nice and wide so your strap won't come off uness you doing tae bo while your playing. i think you could definitly depend on it. i'd use it on a gig without a back-up, i don't think i could even afford a back-up anyway.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never needed to, but it has a limited lifetime warranty, so it can't be that bad.

Overall Rating : 10
i've been playing for 2 1/2 years. i own a strat, an ibanez, a marshall amp, and some pedals. i would definitely buy this guitar again, it's great. i love the finish and the overall feel, it's just a great guitar. i don't really like the pick-ups, but like i said before i'm gonna change them. i didn't really try any other guitars, i saw Papa Roach live and saw Jerry Horton using it and thought it looked cool. so i kinda researched it and tried it out and really liked it so i bought it. i wish it had black binding instead of creme, and better pick-ups.

Although I actually wanted a C-1 plus, apparently they aren't making them anymore, so I went for the C-1, which Musician's Friend still has in stock. I'm not disappointed. From the moment I picked it up, one word came to mind: solid. Mahogany body, 24-fret maple neck (bolt-on) w/ rosewood fingerboard. The body style is fairly classic, with echoes of both strats and Paul Reed Smiths. Mine came with a perfect 'electric blue' paint job that's rich and has that classy 'deep' look to it, along with antique cream binding around the body. Excellent Grover tuners, and 2 decent 'duncan-designed' humbuckers. 2 knobs - one volume, one tone, and a 3-way selector. Incredible for the price.

Sound : 8
Playing it without the amp, you can hear the real acoustic quality of the instrument. The thru-body string set-up gives it nice sustain, and it has a natural, well balanced sound. I have kind of a crappy old Yamaha amp (and a Korg effects unit), but the C-1 still sounds pretty good through it. The bridge pickup is definitely 'hotter,' and sounds vicious with some classic fuzz distortion applied. The neck pickup is smoother, and if you crank the tone down, you can get a nice Les Paul tone out of it. The 3-way selector switch is a little weird, but not enough to be a major prob. I play all sorts of styles, and the C-1 seems versatile enough to handle it. I will probably put some real Duncans in it at some point, but for now, it sounds mean with overdrive and smooth on clean settings, and that's good enough for me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The diamond series is built overseas and set-up at their shop in California. Those guys do an excellent job getting these guitars ready to play. The strings are a little light for my taste (i usually do ernie ball lt. top-hvy. bottoms), but it was set up beautifully right out of the box. Aside from minor imperfections in the fretboard inlays, it's beautifully put together. I have noticed no fret buzz, and I love the tune-o-matic bridge and thru-body strings. Once again: solid.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I can't imagine having many problems with this thing live. I banged out a bunch of metallica and bad brains on it the first night i got it, and it barely even went out of tune. The strap buttons are huge, the hardware is simple and sturdy, and the finish seems like it will last forever. I have actually played may gigs without a backup, so I would have no reservations about using this one 'without a net.'

Customer Support : No Opinion
Limited lifetime warranty, but i wouldn't know anything about their service.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for about 15 years, and this is one of the nicer guitars I've owned. I've never been one to spend a ton on my gear, so finding this for the price (I paid $322, it lists for $600) was a nice suprise. I wanted something along the lines of an Ibanez Artist or a Hamer Archtop, and this fits the bill perfectly. About the only things I'd change are the color and the electronics. the finish is beautiful, but I prefer black myself. And I will replace the electronics, just because I always put some hi-output seymours in my guitars... SO, if you want a workhorse for cheap, look no further...
