Pretty well cover right below. The Ebony neck is a NICE piece of Ebony better than anything I've sen Gibson use. The frets are Stainless Steell also. This Exotic has one of the best fret jobs Ive ever seen. The SUPER ROCK II pick-ups may be the best set I eveer played aside fom vintage PAFs in a 60 LP I owned. These are very versatile pick-ups. High output but if you roll back the volume to around 7 the clean very well and sound like a good PAF. Clear, Clean, Balanced with good Harmonics. Full open volume and they definatly will cover metal. I ve ben playing a long time and I never played a pick-up this versitile. The are EXCELLENT pups. Anyone who DOESN'T like them? E-Mail me and I'll BUY yours. All around one of the nicest electrics Ive seen come out out of Korea. And I'll tell you, I'm not a fan of Korea. But this piece is EASY USA production line quality..EASY! Very nicely put together. The necks are incredable on this. But they are on the thin side. My finger do not have trouble chording in the first position like I have had on some thin necks. I can easily play anywhere on the neck. And it has a Great playing surface and shoulders. But the Back is where it was cut down a great deal. I'm 8'4 and 335 also so I have hugh hands. This probly won't be an issue since I could actually play the guitar in any position without a problem. But the neck does have a thin feel to it. The electronics on the Exotic are all goo. Regular size Pots 500K with a Blade 3-way. Usually Korea uses the mini pot which are crap. These are good quality and work well. The bridge is a Tone Pro's so why all the comlaints through this listing? These are the best TOM type bridge built today? If theres a sharp edge send it back or fix it? There excellent hardware. Mine is a early 05 in Natural and I obviously bought it used. It had a worn sspot on the Top FMT which I corrected by going over the whole top with guitar honey. The top was basically dried out. Its fine now. The finish on these shecters appears to be VERY LIGHT. Which is a GOOD THING.

This is one hell of a sounding guitar. As a rule I'm not a big fan of 34 fret humbucker equipped electrics. I find the neck pup usually sounds to lifeless for me. Not the case on this Scecter. Very nice sounding guitar. Easily has a better Tone than my CU-24 PRS with Vinatge Bass and HFS pups in it. These Super Rocks are KILLER pick-ups. Which I discovered them years ago! You read the reviews here and get a very mixed opinion on them? I can't imagina anyone thinking these are NOT exceptional pups? The Tone pot is also a Push-Pull for Single coil tones and due to the output on the humbuckers. They are very convincing. I A/Bd this Scecter next to my Les-Paul loaded with BB-Prros and a 498 in the bridge. The Super Rocks are hotter pups. Not by a LOT but a little. They are around 10K stock. After I unplugged the LP. I had to turn down the Super Rocks, The settings for Volume on my Amp was to high for the Super Rocks! This is the FIRST SChecter I've seen that In MY Opinion aaaappears to be just right. Not to many bells and whistles. I owned a Classic for awile and the guitar was well built. But it was way to Flashy. I also owned a C-S/H which is a C-shaped hollowbody with Coil-Taps. It was also an exceptional electric. Schecter does build good guitar. I traded my C-S/H even up for a Custom Shop Jackson San Dimas Strat!

I've looked at many of these. The woods on mine are well matched. Oh I read many threads below about Book-Matched tops. These are NOT Book Matched tops and RARELY do you see Book Matched Tops. USUALLY the FMT are Center matched two-piece tops. Which is what this is. Many times manufacturers don't have a second matching piece and use a piece that looks terrible on the guitar? Mine matchs very well. I really believe when this Exotic came out in 05 Schecter was building these Flawless. But when 06 came around and Scecter knew these were being discontinued? The Quality Control slacked off a bit. Some of the Antique Black tops I have seen should never have left the shop! Jusr horrible looking. Anyway I could not have better action on the Schecter Exotic. Its that low. It actually need to be raised slighjtly for bends. Make no-mistake about it the Exotic is a HELL of a guitar

Killer Electric. When I could buy a KOREAN built guitar and it outperforms my USA built electrics? Thats saying a lot! This Exotic is right there. It easily keeps up with my PRS, Gibson's. And for a great deal less cash. I like everthing about the Exotic its a light 7lbs even, balanced guitar. The only thing I would change is the neck with a Fatter one. But I'm sure I'd be in the minority with this issue. It is a very fast playing neck which reminds me of Ibanez Wizard necks when they were 3-piece.

Super Rock II Custom pick-ups with coil- split from the push-pull Tone pot. Ebony fretboard with Dot Inlays go great with the oversized poles of the SuperRock pups. Grover 18:1 Tuner's, Tone Pro's bridge. 3-piece Mahogany neck, Mahogany body with a thick 3/4inch Flamed Maple Top. The guitar is finish in a Satin stain. Mine is NATURAL which is the RARE finish to find. Most are Washed Black. This is the part many players do not like. Many prefer a Thick Glossy finish. IMO the guitar resonates better and the neck is so much smoother to play this way. But this is the reason the guitar was only offered for two years. This Exotic was the FLAGSHIP of the Schecter C+1 line with a LIST price of $1189.00. The NEW Exotic Strar Lists for $999. To Date the EXOTIC is the most expensive C shapeded electric Schecter has produced. And IMO it shows.

This Exotic gets some very very good Tone's. I can't get over just how good the Super-Rock pick-ups are. I can not imagine a genre of music that these couldn't handle. And split the produce some very convincing single-coil tones. I can't find a pick-up position that I didn't find usefull. Clear and bright, to warm and crunchy to edgy and raw. Very versitile pups. My pick-ups are not loose as others have mentioned. But an easy fix for this is to push another soring together with the spring thats on the height adjusting screw. I've done this before and it works great, NO BIG DEAL.

Wondefull feeling and playing Schecter. I've had three Schecter's before and for one reason or another didn't keep them. This one's a KEEPER. Its LIGHT at under 7lbs and very well balanced. Great axe to play live with. The pick-ups will cover a PAF Tone and Strat Tone and much more. They also get the hotter Alnico V magnet Tone which I really dig. I have NO-ISSUE with noise or squealing as another here mentioned? Must have had a faulty wiring problem. In humbucker mode these are QUIET. Split you get your normal 60cycle hum.
The neck feels great I would say 12 inch radius with Stainless Steel Jumbo frets and an excellent fret job. You could not have LOWER ACTION without a buzz. The action is THAT LOW. And with the Stainless Frets the guitar will NEVER, EVER need a fret job. They are a lifetime deal when Stainless Steel frets are used. This is the ONLY Schecter Diamond serie's with SS Frets. The size of the neck I would say is very close to my American made Fender Strat. Though going up past the 12th fret it seems to get a little fatter. I like Fat necks and this neck is just wonderfull to play on. Great feeling guitar, what could I say. I own a Standard Faded Les-Paul and a Vintage Mahogany Les-Paul also. So I really like the Satin non gloss look on my guitars that I play all the time. I find the necks don't become sticky once they are sweaty and dirty and they acquire much less care. And the look NATURALLY BEAUTIFULL. I'm looking around for another Exotic thats how much I like it.

With set-neck, tilt-back headstock electrics? Lets face it, you have to be carefull. These are NOT Fenders with Boly-On necks that could be dropped out of a running car and played thjat night on stage. These Schecter Exotics have to be cared for like a Les-Paul is cared for, BOTTOM LINE You need Strap-Locks and then need to be carefull where you rest the guitar. But other than a ACCIDENT? The guitar is built with all Top Quality woods, hardware and electrics. Thats NOT going to be a issue!

I love this EXOTIC. As I said I'm looking for another. Its the 2nd electric I own NOT built in the USA. And it gets a LOT of action compared to a lot of my USA built electrics. Its quality is betetr than some of my USA guitars and not as good as some of the others? But the guitar cost me $600. used? I also didn't pay 3K for the guitar.
I have been playing all my life and started live in 68 on stage. I been at this a long time. I have the usual Fenders, Gibsons, Hamer's and PRS electrics. Along with a Ibanez AS-103 that I'll tell you plays as good if not better than my 335!
This is professional level instrument that is basicallty a SUPERSTRAT. This one is a keeper and I have played a few of these and all the one's I played were well built...........Nice Guitar is the BOTTOM LINE! If you can find a NATURAL for under $700. its a GOOD DEAL.

I am a guitar player with 30+ years of experience. Took my sons guitar hunting for Christmas for a decent guitar after they had outgrown their first guitars.
My youngest is fond of my 79 Dean ML and has a very specific taste in his feel for guitars. We had tried EVERYTHING! It usually only takes a few seconds with him. We were walking out the door and I just grabbed the neck on this as it sat in the stand. Instantly I knew and told him you HAVE to play this. He said he ignored it because it was so dang ugly. The short version.....he bought it.....then after we had it about a month I said "I HAVE to get me one of these....and I did....it is just as good. it cured me of all my GAS because it is such a perfect axe.
Gibson style construction, Fender scale, humbuckers with taps, it is ALL things to a guitarist. I paid $450 each.....they are easily as good or BETTER than ANYTHING I have tried in the higher ranges.
I will say ONE bad thing......NEVER buy one without playing it. A couple months later my son and I saw one at GC and it was a DOG! Play it before you PAY for it!

I'm left handed so it's blue. This is a quality guitar. Made in Korea.
I'm staying at 8 guitars, one for every day of the week, with a back-up.
I'm just kidding, the quality of guitars coming out of Asia has turned me into a collector.
This is the highest quality I've bought so far, I love the coil switch, the ebony fretboard, and 24 frets for 2 full octaves.
I had to get this one because Schecter makes the pickups.
Sound
:

I play a little bit of everything, about 20 hrs a week though. So I need variety in sound, and this guitar was bought for that because of the coil splitter. I might switch one pickup to get more versatile sound, but it won't be because the stock pup doesn't sound great.
I have a few set-ups/amps running all at once, my floor is a sea of cables. The electronics are good, it's very quiet.
The only thing I dislike is the color, but it's my own fault for learning on a lefty guitar in the first place.

The guitar was set up very well, this is the first guitar I haven't messed with at all. Schecter sets them up as good as anyone, my best set-up has taken me hours and hours and it's close to which set-up is better. (My SX is set-up to perfection, but it took me forever.)
The frets are nice, the action is pretty low, though not all the way low. I'm afraid to touch it, I know I'd throw the sound off a little.

30 years playing. I love this guitar, but not to the point that it's all I play. I own 8, and I play 6 on a regular basis for different reasons mostly for different sound but comfort matters too. Some of my axes are too heavy if I'm going to play all day.
If it was stolen, I'd get another if I could get the same deal($500). I might get something else for $1000, but that's no mark against the axe, I would just want to try out another $1000 guitar.

this guitar fits the profile for a modern guitar. 24 frets 25.5" scale, double octave, ebony board, great access. don't know how the neck is fitted. long tennon, glued in or bolted in? i know the pups aren't screwed into the body but i can mod it by adding wood to the pick up cavity. makes a lot of difference. can't decide if i like the way it looks.

i'm still evaluating the pups. always thinking about changing stock pups but i thinks i will wait. i use a 69 pro reverb with a crate tdp. i noticed the bridge pup produced an extreme deep bass which i like on tunes like spoonfull or summertime blues. think blue cheer. i think they should have put a second tone knob on. they have two volume pots so why not go all the way.

2006 Model:Flamed Maple top that is just amazing to look at. Double Cutaway body style with a Tone-Pros Locking Bridge and Saddles, much better than any ABR Tune O matic bridges. Scale is 25.5" and the fretboard is the best Ebony I've ever felt and played. Great comfortable neck and 24 Jumbo Frets give this a great touch. Master Volumes, and Tone Knobs w/ Coil Tap. H/H configuration. comes with Shcecter Custom Shop Super-Roc II's by Tom Anderson which are incredible.

I elected to swap out the Schecter pups for my choice DiMarzio PAF Classics to give me more versatility, so now I play anything from Phish to Tool and it sounds great. If I had to list all my fx you'd go nutz and so would I. It's got a really nice tone to it that you would think would be a little darker due to the wood, but nice high's and great mids, no problem with any of the bottom sounds. I think with the right pup configuration, this guitar could please anybody.

Schecter setup right from the factory and I haven't had to change a thing, which is great for once. Usually you gotta play with the action or setup for string gauge, not on this baby. Setup for string size .10's. Perfect setup from the Factory! As close as you get for the price on the bookmatched top, I like it and I'm very picky. So far it's weird but on the right side of the face of the guitar between the buckers the finish which is really dull and actually not there, is beginning to shine in just one area. Which is cool, I kinda want the whole guitar to have that look. Preparing the mask now!

Schecter's are built like tanks, not fragile ones here. This baby takes a beating every show from me and so far no problems. I like Nickel or Chrome Hardware because it takes longer to oxidate than gold finish, so that's a plus. I always bring a backup, but then again I use 4 guitars at our shows, but it's reliable, always bring another guitar if you have one, strings do break!

This is were I don't like something. I bought the guitar at Guitar Center in Pittsburgh,PA. It didn't come with a Schecter case, which is no biggy for me. But I didn't get any manual or product registration card from GC. They said that Schecter would send, I've emailed Schecter several times and requested a manual and info on the guitar, and I've not gotten any responses. I don't know what this is about. I hate saying a company's customer support is bad, but something isn't poppin' at Schecter, nonetheless, their guitars are incredible, so judge upon this up you want to only!

I play a variety of music and this guitar has the unique ability to create a variety of sounds. The volume, volume, tone combination along with the ability to split the coils allows you to cover alot of sonic ground. By messing with the controls of this guitar and my amp, I can dial in a strat sound, an almost accoustic sound, metal, and some nice PAF tones from the neck. The pickups in this are fantastic. I originally replaced the bridge with a Seymour Duncan Custom but found it a bit thin and replaced it with the original pickup and it just sounds great. I think I just changed it because I am programmed to think all stock pickups suck but I am noticing more and more that they don't and that the folks at Schecter designed this guitar and the pickups to match and they probably know a thing or 2 about tone and on this one they just got it right. The neck pickup is very warm and articulate and the bridge is somewhat bright, but it just balances the neck perfectly. When you add gain to the bridge it will really shine. Think Master of Puppets or George Lynch.
I run it through a Roland Cube 30 for practice and a Carvin MTS 2x12 Combo. I don't mean to focus so much on the pickups but I will say that this guitar will souund blusey/dirty and with a subtle roll off of volume you can get nice and clean. The 2 volume knobs adds to this flexability. Picture this. A nice passage of arpeggios with the neck pickup set at 1/3 volume with slight breakup and then flipping to the bridge pickup set at full volume getting high gain solo's. Those who play live understand how nice it is to have this flexability in you hands and not have to rely on pedals for it.

Been playing for 2 years and in that time I have bought and sold over 20 guitars. I have an eBay thing. All though I will tell you as long as you buy smart and buy used you will usually make your money back and in many cases even make a few bucks. I have had this guitar for 6 months and I am not planning on selling it. To me and my ability level, it is as good as a PRS. One day I may think differently.
I realize that I gave all 10's and no guitar deserves all 10's but this is a really great instrument at a fair price and it seems like the way the grading is here giving anything less than a 10 is saying theres something wrong. So take the scores for what their worth.

2006 Maple Honey Flame Top with Mahogany Body and Neck. Satin Finish.
TonePros Locking Bridge with String Thru style. Ebony fret board with 24 Jumbo frets. Plain Dot Inlays. Neck has a profile similar to a standard C Fender. 25.5 scale. Not sure of the radius but couldn't be more than 12". Overall about as thin and narrow as my personal tastes could live with. Not as chunky as say the neck on a Schecter S-1 30th Anniversary hehe. Non Locking Grover Tuners. 3 way pick up selector. 2 Volume, 1 Tone which is push/pull for coil tap. Made in South Korea. Will give an 8 here because no locking tuners and overall finish of back of body and neck could have been a tad better.

The stock Schecter Monster Tone pick-ups were a big surprise. They are not bad at all. Much better than I expected from other reviews etc. They have a very intense sizzle when overdriven/distorted. They sustain forever. They are not weak any any means. I could be very happy to leave them both alone. If you are a good guitar player these will sound just fine and bitchen'. I am currently replacing the bridge pick-up with a DiMarzio D-Sonic for the multiple sounds it can get. I'm not a good guitar player haha.

I bought this on eBay from a seller which has a store in Garland, Texas called Larry Morgan Music. They are great people and I would buy from them again. I got an exceptionally good deal on the guitar but the regualr store sticker they left pon the guitar shows they sell for good prices at the store too. The guitar was set up nicely overall.
As far as manufacturing goes I would like to have seen a bit better finish sanding on the neck profile from the factory. They are cabpable of better. I own other Schecters. I'll do it myself soon. Overall the fit, finish and workmanship of these and other South Korean guitars is really as good as anyboby else or better for the price range generally speaking. You can get crap from S. Korea. You can get Custom Shop quality from S. Korea. Same as every where else.
I am happy with this guitar.

I would definately buy this guitar as well as other Schecter guitars again whether built in the USA or South Korea. The only thing I do with all my Schecters when I buy them is have a local great luthier [Parson's Guitars] install the Buzz Feiten tuning system which entails replacing the stock plastic nut with a bone nut. I also have a pro set-up done for the fret leveling/crowning/polishing benefits. Ilove the Mahogany body/neck tone and light weight. I love the Ebony fret board. If I was having this built from scratch I would move the controls around just slightly but really this is a great guitar for the money. You do not "have too" replace the pick-ups, they are very good. If your thinking of buying this guitar go for it!

Have had little time to play with the job, bathroom remodeling, etc. Let me say this, this guitar stays in tune forever. NO fret buzz, NO flaws PERIOD! This is as close as you can get to Schecter's Custom guitars, if not one itself.

This guitar will withstand anything. I am an attack player. Did I say it stays in tune forever! Straps buttons solidly secured, solid hardware, and bending strings without breaking is a very welcome plus. The hand rubbbed oil finish is superb. I own a Yairi DY-40 CBK, Black Cutaway, and I am OCD. Enough said. The natural finish is a welcome change from the statue quo. The neck and fretboard, ebony, are smooth and fast. Wish I could keep up. This is a well built instrument.

Limited lifetime warranty. I have called Schecter on two previously owned models, S-1 Elite and C-1 Elite. Had a pot problem, no not that kind, they informed me this was an issue with the DDesigned PU's. Nice people. Don't expect any issues.

I have had, as my wife tells me, manic episodes of guitaritis. No cure except for selling current ones and buying that "last one"! Yea, right!
This one will stay in my collection. As mentioned, I own a Yairi, what a guitar, and just purchased a Guild GAD-50, Antique Sunburst. I play through a Roland CUBE 30. What's with this lost or stolen crap. Who looses a guitar, and, is guitar stealing a common thing? I have owned a 1980 Black Les Paul Custom, don't even ask, Schecter's listed above, Takamine, Breedlove acoustics and several amps. As many individuals before me, Schecter makes great guitars for the money. I can afford any guitar, but cannot justify spending the $$$$.$$ for guitars that are more of a name today than a quality instrument.

Sound - was horrible. The stock pickups have magnets that are way too strong. The sustain starting at 11th fret and higher is significantly reduced due to the strength of the p'up magnet in the neck.
Also, the stock p'ups are not to be used at stage volumes, the pickups were so loose and howled with feedback like an acoustic guitar. I had to lower the bridge p'up nearly flush and stuff it with paper to make it stop howling with feedback.
I removed the neck p'up completely and installed an EMG 81 active p'up in the bridge. Unbelievably better.

I tried three different ones at Guitar Center, then bought on Ebay at cost from a dealer in NJ that couldn't move the guitar. I can't sure for sure if the factory or dealer did this, but the action was sky high, the bridge was not locked, the truss rod needed to be adjusted.
Worst of all is the sharp edges on the body of the guitar. I ended up paying $200 to get it a luthier to sand down and restained to take off the razor's edge.
After spending a total of $341 for a proper setup with a new EMG install and smoothing the edges of the body, now I really enjoy the guitar. It is a great stage guitar due to its lighter weight.

I've been playing over 24 years. I've had Ibanez, Michael Kelly, Carvin, Dean, played Les Pauls, Goudin...
I'm my opinion, you can buy a $2000.00 guitar and not have to modify it too much, or buy a $500-800 guitar and take it to a shop and have it customized for $200-400. I've done the same process with Michael Kelly guitars. Cheap, but reliable Les Paul copies then throw in the Les Paul pickups. Les Paul distorted tone for under $600.00
I would not buy this guitar again. The wood is too porous on the neck. I like a much smoother neck. I give it a 7 since it can be tweaked into a decent guitar with the right hardware upgrades.

The sound of this guitar is amazing. With the coil-tap, it can easily get any sounds from the bluesy cleans of Stevie Ray Vaughan to the heavy distortion of Metallica. The humbuckers are full and warm, and the single coils are bright and trebly. They are the perfect balance. I play blues, classic rock, jazz, and some heavier rock and it plays all styles perfectly. It's almost perfectly quiet, though I have haer

There is some buzzing with the strings, althought it can be fixed and isn't noticable while playing plugged in. The pickups can get a boosted signal if you raise them a little closer to the strings. Overall, it is pretty well set up, but could be better.

I've been playing guitar for 5 years and I've owned several guitars, and this is easily the best guitar I've owned. It can get a heavy metal sound, a bright blues tone, or a clean, flat jazz tone. The coil-tap is my favorite feature on the guitar, and that alone makes it worth buying over the C-1 classic or other models, in my opinion. The only flaws I can find is the action was a bit off when I bought it, but it was easily fixed. Other than that, this is the perfect guitar for me.

The neck is a dream to play, but the strings do buzz even when setup correctly. the High "E" string will bend off the fret board when in any dropped tuning. The pups are garbage... and aren't hel din well at all. In fact my bridge pup fell into the hole and completly stripped the hole for the screw. The finish itself is very nice for an import rig. The bridge saddles neede to be filed due to unfinishing... causing the Low "E" string to pop off.

This is an amazing guitar, by far the best guitar Schecter makes. And i've done my research. I have tried almost all of their models before purchasing this one, and this one is by far superior. The only two guitars that came close to this guitar were the C1 Hellraiser (FR) and the C1 Classic, but this guitar truly leaves them sounding cheap. Especially the Hellraiser FR, which at high volumes and gain sounds harsh.

Made in Korea, Set up in California
24 Jumbo frets
Ebony Fretboard
Solid mahogany body and neck (laminated, not 1 piece)
Solid Flame Maple top
Satin Finish (Black antique)
2 Schecter Superock IIs (H/H)
Strat body style (actually a wee bit smaller than a strat, although shape is identical)
Grover tuners (nice)
Tune-o-matic bridge with string through body design
No accessories
Nothing in this price range can touch these features (at least for what I paid for it). I consider myself a Fender guy, but wanted some of that H/H crunch, and felt like trying something different, so thats how I ended up with the Schecter. Considered a Gibson LP studio ($$$...ouch), Gibson LP special (cheap but kinda boring and plain...and you have to put some money into the tuners, etc. to get a real high quality instrument), Epiphone Elitist LP Studio (not bad, but didnt really like the pickups, still a steal though), and finally a Fender Custom Tele FMT with SDs (my 2nd choice if I hadnt gotten this one...like I said Fenders feel like home to me).

Play classic rock and blues, and no complaints so far (this is not just a metal guitar, so dont get sucked into that). Great sustain and full sound. Played through a s*load of amps (both tube and solid state) and sounded good through all of them, nice crunch and also very clear when played clean. The coil tap is neat, doesnt sing like my Strat, but does offer some flexibility. No rush to switch out the pickups, but I like to tinker, so I might.

Guitar did need a setup, but never had a new guitar that didnt, so no big deal. Finish is fine, only flaws I noticed was that some of the binding on where the headstock meets the neck was not *completely* smooth, altough wasnt bad by any stretch. Frets were all perfect and even. Also, like other reviewers mentioned the 'flame' is not consistent over the entire top, but I think it adds to the look (which I love, and can only describe as 'exotic' hee hee). Neck is *FAST* and love the Jumbo frets.
Only complaint I have and this is MINOR, is that the body is not bound or even rounded, so when you play sitting down, your arm rests on the sharp edge of the guitar which can get annoying. Not an issue if you play standing though.

So far so good, have done a few small gigs with it so far and no complaints. Strap buttons are nice and big. Not sure about this, but my tone knob spins more freely than the volume pots. Need to go to the local guitar center to see if this is always the case...dont remember. Other than that this thing is a tank, but the weight doesnt break your back like a Les Paul for example (although is heavier than most of what Fender makes). Who gigs without a backup?

Been playing for near 13 years (almost half my life), own a stable of Fenders and between me and my boys a crapload of amps (some good, and some, well...not). If it were stolen, I would consider getting another Schecter, but probably not this one since I dont like to buy the same thing twice. However, I do not see myself getting rid of this guitar anytime soon though. I love the look, feel and sound of it, and that you dont see them around too often.
As I see it, the weakest part of this instrument is the pickups (which arent really that weak), but most guys have their 'pet' setup which is fine, I am the same way. Don't let this discourage you from buying this guitar, as the woods alone are worth it. Spend a hundo or two and put what PUs you want in it and you will have a guitar that that can hang with (or beat) ones that cost 5x as much. I am a cheap bastard, and getting top notch performance for very little moohla makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over...I work for a living and I am sure you do to, which is why you are reading this and not throwing money around like some rockstar jerk without researching it first.
I do wish that it had a pickguard, but thats just because I am anal about my babies getting scratched and it bums me out when they inevitably do...oh well. Might fab a pickguard of my own, but maybe not (dont want to spoil the look).
Long story short, get it, you wont be disappointed.

pretty hot pickups, but then again I prefer EMGs.
I think I would have prefered to see Duncans on this guitar, but the stock pickups certainly arent horrible.
The coil tap is pretty cool, but I wonder if Id ever actually use it

Fantastic sustain, but just looking at the specs of this guitar Im sure anybody could have guessed that.

The over all fit and finish of this guitar is amazing, though not flawless. There are some very minute errors to be found , but really take somebody who is anal about these sorts of things, such as myself, to see. However, these are the same types of things I see every day on Gibsons and the like, so for an import guitar its nothing to complain about.
The top, unlike the pictures on the website suggest is not book matched. Mine has pretty large flames on it though, and I personaly think the chaotic figure of the wood is pretty neat. Its actually the main reason I bought the guitar.
The satin finish feels great to play on. It gives this guitar a "poor mans PRS Modern Eagle" feel.
The action on mine was set up perfectly for the strings the guitar came with, but I prefer heavier strings, so it doesent matter much to me. My intonation wasnt even remotely close to being acceptable on the D strings, all other strings were pretty spot on.

24 frets, with excellent access to the upper frets. 25.5" scale. Mahogany bod with maple top, satin finish. 'Buckers with coil splitter built into tone knob, separate volume knobs. Tune-O-Matic style bridge (I think), very nice, with through-the-body stringing. Did not come with any accessories, even a case, so I docked it a little for that.

I play "classic" rock and roll for the most part and this guitar does the job very well. It can also scream if you want to turn up the gain, the pickups seem to be pretty hot. The sound is very malleable; with the coil-splitter deployed you get that nice out-of-phase sound, not exactly a Strat sound but very nice. The 'bucker sounds can be smooth and smokey, or biting and shrieking. With the two volume knobs, the middle position covers a whole spectrum of blended sounds.
So far have only used it with a 25-watt Fender (surprisingly good little amp) and if some thought is given to the tone settings (both amp and guitar) the sound is terrific. Great sustain. The sounds are very responsive to the picking style and intensity, which is a trait that I prize.
It is a tribute to the sound of this guitar that when I bought it, I really was in no hurry to change to a new set of strings. From the sound they didn't seem all that old, and when I changed them I was surprised to see they were visibly corroded. Honestly I haven't found much if anything to complain about sound-wise.

The guitar was surprisingly well set up off the rack. The action was about as good as I've seen. No issues at all here.
I agree with the other reviewer that appearance-wise, the finish is not going to appeal to everyone. It is kind of "raw" looking compared to the glossy C-1 classics and their fancy fretboard inlays etc. I happen to like a less-flambouyant look, but that's me. And, as in the other review, the selection of flame maple for the top is rather odd, not bookmatched at all and not a consistent grain from top to bottom. It is, ah, interesting. I guess that's what "exotic" means. :)

I started playing over 25 years ago, though the last five years I have only had an acoustic and barely touched it. I bought this guitar because suddenly I felt like getting back into playing again, and it has made me very happy with that decision!
Past solid-bodies I have owned have been a Daion (very pretty, interesting guitar, but muddy tone) and a mid-80's Strat. This one blows away either of those in pretty much every regard, especially playability and tone.
The tone and the way it can be manipulated purely by the ol' fingers is definitely my favorite feature of this guitar. I would buy it again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend. For something under $1,000 new, I would be surprised if you could find another with as good a tone and playing characteristics.
Note, my ratings may seem a tad low compared to lots of other reviewers' tendencies on this site, but I'm trying to be realistic. Make no mistake about it, I love this guitar and don't think I could have done any better without spending a lot more cash. I will save the 9s and 10s for when I get an axe that costs as much as my car in a couple years. ;-)

i play heavier stuff with equal amounts palm muting and big open chords. very schizophrenic parts jumping from one extreme to the other and this guitar is more than capable of hanging with me. clean, overdriven, fully saturated... doesnt make any difference to my axe. tonally the best guitar ive ever owned and most versatile by far. right now im only running it through a line 6 flextone 2 HD and a 5150 4x12 cab. ill tell you this as well... i was THIS close to dumping the whole rig in the trash before i plugged this guitar into it. the amp finally does exactly what ive been trying to get it to do for 2 years. the Schecter Super Rock Pro II humbuckers are supposedly designed after Schecter's Custom Shop guitar pickups. ill say if these are any step down from the original Super Rocks then id give my left testicle to have a pair of those. but anyway, these pickups are AMAZING! extremely quiet, extremely versatile (via the coil tap) and so so so so so smooth when running through high gain. i would easily compare them to EMG 81s and would of course prefer the Schecters over the EMGs given the versatility and more "natural" sound of the Super Rock Pro IIs. plus you get the coil tap and these pickups nail that sound dead on, too. great pickups for any style and probably the best for any style. in my opinion this guitar would be a fine substitute for ANY model electric guitar if price is an issue in your selection. put this up against any other axe and it will hold its own (and the price tag will win your heart for sure)

When we went to Schecter in Burbank and they pulled this out of the box my first reaction wasnt all that great. the flamed maple top isnt any where near book matched. also these are all hand rubbed finishes so ive concluded that whoever had the distinct pleasure of finishing mine was either a) five years old; b) one hundred and five years old; or c) had been around the fumes of the oil finish for one too many hours that day. it looks ok... but its no show piece by any means. the top has many asthetic flaws that you wouldnt want in a flamed top... actually i wouldnt even go so far as to call it "flamed" id probably call it a "microwaved maple top" 5 on the finish for the maple top. the rest of the guitar is beautiful. the finish everywhere is satin so if you know anything about that you know how comfortable it is to hold. you can feel the woodgrain and after playing this for the last week i dont think ill ever be able to play a high sheen finished neck again. the bridge is TonePros so its great, the tuners Grover so they work beautifully, and the binding around the neck and head stock are flawless and i think its a great touch for the natural look of the rest of the guitar. but i didnt get it for the looks anyway... i hated it, plugged it in, then loved it! only problem i had with playability was that the guitar was set up for standard tuning and we play down a step and dropped to C. so seeing as it was about 6pm and all the techs were already gone and Burbank is about half an hour from me on a good day... i just set the thing up myself at home. all in all this a beautiful looking guitar for the price tag!
