Same black and cream as the others in this section, didn't even realise about the coil tap til the guitar arrived hehe

Sound : 9
I play in a heavy metal band and not only does this guitar look the part, it delivers the goods too. Compared to my Maverick F1 this blows it away in terms of versatility. Great tone on most amps, even the shittiest practice amps. The coil tap gives a nice strat-ish tone for country tones, but isn't very noticable on high gain settings.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar came was shipped from America to England and then couriered to the Channel Islands and arrived in brilliant condition, and with a little fine tuning was perfect. The floyd rose is amazing and never goes out of tune.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've gigged with it and other then one snapping of a string (due to age mixed with over use of dive bombs) it has worked fine for me and I will continue to use it

I'd thoroughly reccomend this guitar to anyone interested in metal/rock/shred. A well designed and brilliant addition to my collection

made in korea 2005
24 frets
only in the 2004-05 model it has two volume controls, one tone, push pull coil tap, 3 way selector, perfect for tom morello toggle switching
duncan pickups,
black with white/yellow sides
has a original floyd rose! which is really kool. works perfectly
strat style
locking tuners
25.5 scale

Sound : 10
sound is amazing, neck pickup souds nice and heavy, and the bridge pickup sounds really thin and sharp
i am using it through a marshall half stack and it sounds amazing,
but i also used it with alot of crappy amps but it still sounds great
the floyd rose brings a whole new level of sounds to me it can make the craziest sounds
there is nothing i dislike about this guitar

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
it was setup perfectly, the action was a little high but it wasnt a problem
the pickups were perfect, no flaws in fact, order it from geartree cause it comes wrapped in TONS of big bubble wrap to make sure it is not damaged at all

Reliability/Durability : 10
i've hit it against the ceiling many times but no scratch at all, but dont go around bashing it
strap buttons are solid and the only reason i would bring a different guitar for a gig is for a different tuning since this has a floyd rose on it

Customer Support : No Opinion
havnt dealt with customer support

Overall Rating : 10
i LOVE this guitar, my favorite part about it is the floyd rose and the two volume controls because im a big fan of tom morello
if it were stolen, i would shoot whoever stole it and get a new one right away

Schecter C-1FR. Prob 2004 model. Black with chrome hardware and creme binding on body and neck. Set maple neck with rosewood fretboard & 24 jumbo frets. Carved top solid mahogany body. Seymour Duncan designed pups. Vol, vol, tone with pull switch for coil tap, & 3 way pup selector. Original floyd trem. Came with allen wrenches to adjust trem, trussrod, etc & extra spring for trem which it needed.

Sound : 10
THe pups are very good. Better crunch the the "real" Seymour Duncan and a tad less output. Likes. the two volumes allow sound tweaking via blending the pups. Something just not doable on one volume guitars. The floyd trem seems to adda little zing to the sound. Similiar to how the Baddass2 bridge adds zing to the sound for basses. Works well on the guitars mahogany body, but would prob be too much on poplar bodied ones and those with maple tops. The coil tap adds small variation in sound that can be useful.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Well, just because its a "real floyd rose" doesnt mean its gonna be better then a guitar with very nice floyd lic trem. In this case, the floyd lic trems on my BC Rich guitars (Mockingbird & Warlock) are the better system imo. Cause the real floyd is finnykier to adjust, takes longer to adjust, and the body route for rearward trem bends should have been deeper for that little extra leeway like the BC Richs got. Otherwise the "real floyd" on the schecter seems equal to the floyd lic ones on my BC Richs. Though I do also more like the BC R's trem handles rubber ribs.

Guitar action once one gets it done, does allow for excellent very low action with fully floating trem.

Excellent fretwork, body ergonomics, comfy fast neck.

Minusa point for the trem issues.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Well made. Like most mfg the strap buttons should have wider tops then they do. But simply replaced the stock ones with some wider top ones. Nice finish. One should allways gig with a backup guitar. In case a string breaks during your set, you can go to your backup one.

Never dealt directly with Schecter.

Overall Rating : 9
More versatile then my BC Rich's sound wise, due to pull up tone switch for coil tap. Comprable to them workmanship wise and for playability & sound. A plus for the Schecter is the set neck with neck thru body like heel. Does like the trems on my BC Richs a little better. THe trem preferance also takes into account that the body route for the BCR"s trems allow for little more rearward bend. the Floyd on the Schecter also takes little longer to get tweaked performance wise but once done, it performs comprably except for little less rearward bend allowance with guitar set up for very low action.

2005 schecter c-1 fr ( fr standing for floyd rose of course). made in korea black in color with an ivory colored binding. there are 2 volume knobs and one tone knob with a "coil tap" and a 3-way toggle switch. Comes with 2 duncan designed humbuckers. grover tuners with a locking nut. it is of a set neck construction.

Sound : 10
great sound thanks to the mahogony body and set neck. the pickups are actually very nice for knock off seymour duncans but i am very picky so i bought a pair of seymour duncan invader pickups. i love these pickups very much and was a perfect match for this guitar. i play out of a bogner uberschall and mainly use the bridge pickup. definately a metal man's delight. i am a big fan of avenged sevenfold and this is sinister gates exact setup verbatum.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
i had to return the first c-1 fr that i ordered because it came with a huge dent right below the humbuckers... i think that this was definately a shiping error though. the second one that i recieved was nice except for a incomple binding where the headstock meets the nut. the flaw was very small and not noticable while playing th so i kept it anyways. another thing wrong with the guitar was the pickup hieght and the neck pickup is not parallel with the strigs. i had to tweek everything a little bit but now everything is perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 10
this guitar is solid as a tank... the original floyd rose tremlo system keeps everything in tune well, even with heavy use. i use strap locks. i problably wouldnt gig with this guitar just because of the fact that i wouldnt want to copy sinister.

Customer Support : 10
when i received the defective one i recieved a different one within 5 days

Overall Rating : 10
this is a really cool guitar for the money and would stand up to any of my other $1000+ guitars such as my les pauls or even my parker flys. definately a sweet axe.

It was made on 2005, in Korea... 24 Frets, 2 Volume, 1 tone, 3-way Selector... H/H configuration... Duncan Design 103 passive humbuckers... Mahogany arch top body, mapple neck, rosewood fingerbaord... head, body and neck cream bindings... The ol mighty OFR... Grover tuners... jumbo frets... comes with cheap cables, 2 sets of new strings, allen wrenches...

Sound : 10
It sounds really good... The duncan design pickup turns out to be preety good... seriously... Its very crunchy and has lots of clarity... Im not even thinking to change them... one problem with them is that they're not a very high output humbuckers, kinda not hot enough to my taste... but i like the tone it delivers and im not kidding the pickups are good... a very good guitar for rock/blues/jazz music... THE OFR just rocks, this guitar always stay in tune no matter how abusive you are in using the floyd... what i love from this guitar is the neck joint!!! much better than ones found in RGs... the neck joint almost feel like a neckthrough guitar!! the neck profile is not as thin as rgs, and not as fat as a les paul, just right to my taste... a very cool looking guitar too!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It was set up good... the action, i can still lower it a little bit but the factory set-up was great... the pickups are well adjusted... one flaw that i found was the frets were a bit dirty... but the guitar store send me some dunlops fret cleaner... and its shine as new...

Reliability/Durability : 10
just have this guitar for like 2 weeks now... I think it will survive live playing, cant think any reason why it wouldnt... Hardware looks very solid... Finish is marvelous, no problem here... strap buttons very solid better than one in my ibanez... i would use this without backup...

I have been playing effectively 3years... I own an ibanez gax-70 loaded with duncan JB and jazz... If this guitar was stolen, Ill definately buy it again... really like this guitar...
what i like about it?? the looks, the pickups (yes they're duncan designed, but i like em...), the OFR, the neck joint, just about everything about this guitar i like it... the pickups kinda suprise me though, i thought it would be a crappy ass pick up but i was wrong... if only they comes in cream colour, this guitar would look cooler...
