Made in 1999..The neck (maple with rosewood fingerbord) has 24 extra jumbo frets and very nice looking vector inlays..The body is mahogny with a flamed maple top..A volume pot for each pickup and a master tone control..Also a really crappy 3-way pickup selector..Change it..2 passive Duncan Design humbuckers..The bridge is a tune-o-matic with string-thru body for massive sustain..Grover tuners and it comes with a really nice gigbag..The finish on my guitar is Vintage Sunburst..

Sound : 9
I am now playing in a cover band and this means it must be able to handle everything from Dylan to Metallica..I think it does a pretty good job exept maybe for the clean sounds..It wont sound like a Les Paul but for the money it comes darn close..

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
As soon as I laid my hands on it I changed the string to 010-052 and made all the adjustment myself..It comes very well adjusted from the factory but not the way I like it..The flamed maple top and the finish of this guitar i absolutly BEUTIFUL..The nut may need some work if you are going to use the same fat strings as I'm using..It looks like the nut is made of some graphite material, wich is good..Like I said before everything about this guitar is great exept the pickup selector..It will not stay in the bridge position for very long..After a while it pops up to the middle position..This can be really anoying..DUHHH..

Reliability/Durability : 9
Change the pickup selector and you will have a guitar that will give you many, many years of pure pleasure..It stays in tune, the finish is beutiful and the strap buttons are big and firmly fastend..

Customer Support : No Opinion
Comes with a limited lifetime warranty..(Dont know what it means, but it sounds good.)

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing guitar for about 15 years now and this is the guitar I will keep for a long time..I have still got my old guitar witch is a Ibanez S 540 LTD..I bought the Schecter because I got tired of the Floyd Rose bridge on the Ibanez..I can really recomend this guitar to anyone who cant afford to buy a Les Paul..If it was stolen I would find the one who did it and beat him blue with the Ibanez..He he..Hope you did not mind the poor spelling, but I am from Sweden..= )

Strat style body with a flamed maple top over a mahogany body. has binding on the top and neck. Fantastic vector inlays on fretboard. Mine is the vintage sunburst. Adjustable bridge with strings through body.

Sound : 8
The stock pickups sounded pretty good but were microphonic. Changed them out for Duncans. Still the guitar has a great, really chunky sound. Not as much bottom end as a Les Paul, but nice. Tends to be a little bright.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action, fit and finish is incredible. The fret board is quite flat with extra jumbo frets. Has a 24 3/4 scale neck. The body binding is perfect the finish is beutiful. This is one of the best guitars I have ever owned.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It's very well made, no reason to be concerned really.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Who knows?

Overall Rating : 10
Again, an incredible deal for the money. The finish and play-a-bility is great. A very beutiful well made guitar.

This guitar is made in Korea. It has 24 extra jumbo frets, 2 volume one tone knob, mahogany body with flame maple top, tune o matic bridge, grover tuners, set in neck (maple with rosewood fingerboard), sring thru body, and Duncan pickups. The inlays are amazing they are mother of pearl in a "v" vacing up and behind that is a "v" facing down in abalone. Mine is in vintage sunburst wich is really cool, it also comes in Charcol Burst and Black Cherry.

Sound : 10
This guitar sonunds great. I use it with my zoom 3000s processor and Crate GR-15 amp and get a great sound for any style of music. I can get a pretty good metal rythym sound and an excellent lead guitar metal sound with a lot of sustain. I also get very good classic rock sounds like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and many others. I can also get an excellent clean sound that I use for church. I have yet to find a sound this guitar can't make.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar was set up perfectly for my style straight from the factory. It needed no adjustments at all.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar will stand live playing with out a problem. The hardware is good, except for the pickup selector which is a little loose. The finish is great and should easily last a lifetime. The strap buttons are very well made. I don't think the strap would ever come off. This guitar is very dependable. I use it a church with out a backup and have never had a problem with it.

Customer Support : 9
Its got a lifetime warranty. I sent the company an e-mai asking about getting an instruction manual and they returned my e-mail that same day.

I've been playing a little over two years and this is my second guitar. It makes my first guitar look like a Fisher Price one. If it got lost or stolen I would buy a new one without hesitation. When I first started looking at guitars I thought I would get the Ibanez RG-520QS but when I saw this one and tried it out I had to go with the Schecter.

1999 Korean made, set up in U.S. This guitar is a hybrid of a strat and a Les Paul. Strat-shaped, but arch-top, mahogany body, flame maple top, set neck, tune-o-matic bridge, 24.75" scale, two covered humbuckers. Bound body, neck, & headstock. "Vector" inlays (much more intricate than they appear in photos, very nice). Two volume, one tone control. Grover tuners. This is a simply gorgeous guitar.

Sound : 8
The "Duncan Designed" pickups actually sound half decent; I think that their voicing is best suited to mahogany bodied guitars. I've had the same pickups in alder and ash guitars, and they don't sound as warm in those. It's not quite as "fat" sounding as a Gibson, but I think a lot of that might have to do with the chrome pickup covers. Gibsons and PRS's use nickel covers, and that seems to make a big difference with regard to warmth. I have a set of nickel covers from a Les Paul, and I'm going to try those before I invest in new pickups. I play through a Crate all-tube half stack and a Peavey Transtube stack, and the guitar sounds pretty good through both. The dual volume controls give good ability to "mix" the pickups in the middle switch position. My only gripe is that this is a 24-fret guitar, and as a result the neck pickup too far back, missing the "sweet spot" that I think 22-fret guitars have. The neck pickup just isn't as "fat" sounding as I'd like it to be. It sustains forever, though. Good tone for hard rock and blues.

This is the first guitar I've owned that I haven't had to adjust at all. When it arrived at my house, it must've been sitting in the UPS truck all day, because it was so warm I could hardly hold it. After it cooled down, it played perfectly. Action is about 1/16", no buzzing, intonation was perfect. Pickups were at perfect height. Controls are a bit cheesy, knobs don't turn very smoothly. They're quiet and function well enough though. Fretwork was pretty good, though some were filed more smoothly than others. No rough edges though. Cosmetically, this guitar is amazing. The inlays are gorgeous (though there's a bit of filler around some of them, only visible from REALLY close up), the paint job is perfect (vintage sunburst). Many of the maple-topped Schecters I've seen aren't very "flamed", but this one has a very deeply flamed, well-bookmatched top. I actually bought this one spur-of-the-moment while on a business trip (and paid a bit more) because the top was so nice. The guitar plays very nicely, but I must admit that the ESP LTD H-200 (same style guitar, but ash body and bolt-on neck) plays much better, almost to the point of "playing itself". The Schecter takes a bit more concentration to play as smoothly.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I'd trust this axe as much as any other I own. It's built like a Les Paul (in other words like a tank). I expect a long and prosperous life out of this guitar.

Customer Support : 9
Schecter's customer service has been great. I emailed them about a warranty registration issue (limited lifetime warranty by the way) and they returned my email the same day. They seem to be selling a lot of guitars these days, so we'll see if they can keep up this level of service.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for about 18 years now, and have owned dozens of guitars. Appearance and construction-wise, this Schecter is on par with the best Gibsons or Hamers I've owned. The electronics are obviously where they saved the money, but a set of good pickups and switchgear will only set you back about $200, so for a $750 total investment you can have a guitar that sounds and plays as good as something that costs 2 or 3 times more. I think the ESP LTD series guitars play a bit better (you can get a neck-thru mahogany H-300) for about the same money, but the Schecters look better and seem better put-together (if that makes any sense). Either way, the new guitars coming out of Korea are just fantastic. If you're not concerned about every minute detail, and just want a really nice guitar without taking out a second mortgage, I'd highly recommend one of these.

Mahogony body with a flame maple carved top, set maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The body and neck are bound. Very solid feel with this guitar. 24 Jumbo Frets. 3 finishes are availible (Charcoal Burst, Vintage Sunburst, and Black Cherry). The inlays are Schecter's "Vector" style (Very Nice). Tune-O-Matic Bridge. Two Duncan Design Humbuckers, each with it's own volume. 1 tone control.

Sound : 9
I play everything from Disco to Heavy alternative, the guitar covers it all. Lots of presence and full sound. I currently use a Digitech 2101 preamp into a BBE 862 then a Marshall 20\20 Tube Power amp. From there I go into a Marshall 2x12 stereo cabinet.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The Setup from the company was with 10s and I play with a very light gauge string. So I had to re-set the guitar to my own playability. I basically readjusted everything from string height, pickup height, and intonation. But at no fault of Schecter,(I'm just real particular) The Neck was perfect. Straight from the Factory would probably suit most.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Like I said, the guitar feels very solid. I changed the Strap button to Fender strap locks, But the ones that were on it are pretty sharp and seemed sturdy. The Finish I chose was the Charcoal Burst. From the front it looks Black, but from most angles you can see the flamed maple come through. The body is beautiful with the sleek curves, it's easy to get used to (I also play a Strat).

Customer Support : No Opinion
The only thing I've had to contact the Customer Service for is that I didn't get an owner's manual with the guitar. So I E-Mailed the company to get one and I still haven't heard from them...tsk.tsk.tsk I hope this isn't a sign of the support.

Overall Rating : 10
I absolutely love this guitar. I would buy it again and recomend it for others. Great balance when playing and great feel. I thought the Fret size would be a problem, because I'm used to the Strat Medium - low size, but the Schecter just made me wish the Strat had the Same frets. I highly resomend this guitar. Don't let the Low Price scare you, This guitar should cost much more with the features. It fits into a standard SKB case too. (another plus) Though Schecter does offer a case.
