2006 model. Nice sunburst flamed finish. Not perfect, but hey, this only cost me $400 used. The pickups are weak/noisy. Replaced them with DiMarzios (Mo Joe on the bridge and PAF Joe on the neck, DAMN!!!! The mahogany body with set neck is a great combination. Sustains very nicely. The body is a bit thin so it's not "beefy" like a Les Paul, but very good tone nonetheless. The volume controls are fine but the tone control was horrible. It's a 350K pot. Replaced with a CTS500K last week, what a difference that made. Probably the best $5 mod I ever made. $200+ for the mods and this baby sounds as good as my PRS, no BS. It actually sustains BETTER!
The neck is thin and fast. Came perfectly set up with low action and no buzzing. Easy to get to all 24 frets.

Sound : 9
I play classic rock and blues. With the pickup and tone control mods this is the perfect guitar. Use a CeriaTone amp, Ibanez TS-7 and CryBaby 535Q. The sound is a little brighter than a Les Paul, about like an SG or PRS.

It is light (almost too light) but fits the body nicely and is very comfortable to play night after night.

With the mods I give it a 9 for sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I can play the 6 set gigs in the casinos and my hands don't get tired because the action is low and the neck thin. Set up perfectly at the factory, unlike the horrible job Fender and Gibson do on their. The intonation on my Strat and Les Paul were horrible when I bought them, the Schecter is 100% perfect. Digital tuners don't lie.

The frets were a tad rough, but gave them a light going over with steel wool and they are wonderful.

Stays in great tune. Only fine tune a couple of times a night.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I use this for multiple sets a night, 6 nights a week. I use this for 3-4 sets and the PRS for 2-3 sets. The finish looks very nice and I think it'll last a good while. The strap buttons are oversized (like on the PRS's) and I love that! I totally depend on this guitar. It is my mainstay or backup, always. I'd never use any guitar at a gig w/o a backup guitar. Same as I never go to a gig without extra tubes for my amps.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed support.

Overall Rating : 10
To the guys that say this guitar is "crap", they are primmadonnas and don't know what they are talking about. Hell, they probably posted without having ever touched one! I've been playing for over 30 years. I own a Std. Am. Strat, a Les Paul, a Rick 360/12, an ES335, a PRS Santana II, an SG, a Tele, an Ibanez double neck 6/12, an L6 and this Schecter C1+. I play the Schecter and the PRS almost exclusively now. Sure, off the shelf the C1+ needs pickups and a tone control, but for about $200 in mods you have a guitar that sounds better than ones costing 2-3 times as much. Plus it comes perfectly set up for playing, out of the box. This isn't my first Schecter either, I had a C1 Elite and a Blackjack also (sold 'em recently to buy a new amp - CeriaTone). I missed them so I bought the C1+.

I play through a CeriaTone Overtone (this is a real AMP!), an Ibanez TS-7, a CryBaby 535Q with a Mesa Boogie 2x12 cabinet.

Thoroughly recommend this guitar even if you CAN afford a PRS. This is a great backup and or complement as a main axe.

Features : 9
fantastic finish. Coil tap is a bonus, fun feature. Nice fixed bridge, although at times the guitar can be fussy about holding a tune.

Sound : 9
bought the guitar used with a JB installed in the bridge. Really is a fun guitar to play. I find sometimes I have to make myself put it down. Very versitile. I am a firm believer in "looking for a sound, buy the product" as in metal=metal guitar, and so on for whatever it is you're looking for. However, this guitar covers a very broad range, and does it very well. Does strat to les paul and all in between if you spend some time with it and your amp. All in all hangs with the big boys (gibson, PRS, fender, etc.) at a fair price. If you want bang for your buck, look here. Easily compars to guitars nearly twice it's price.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
was set up with 9's with previous owner. I had a local shop string up some light top/heavy bottm's. Neck is comfortable, plays relatively quick. Love the flame top look, as do others. I think schecter did a fine job with the finish, very genuine.

Reliability/Durability : 8
no problems with it, play it about every day, no out of the ordinary. Tuning can be fussy so it gets an 8 here. I'm just being picky.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never head to deal with

self taught hobby player for almost 15 years (I'm 25). Have had this guitar for about 4 months. Really is my first "quality" guitar purchase. Read such good reviews and found one at a good price, I'd thought I would try it. Can't complain. I feel it's a very good value and would recommend it, especially to intermediate and advancing players. I give it a 9 because 10 should be unachieveable. Sure it doesn't have a big name on the headstock, but it didn't have a big price tag. Really a cool guitar, buy one slightly used, and get an even better deal. You won't go wrong.

This is a beautiful guitar, looks and sound. The neck is really thin and sounds amazing especially if you put a JB in the bridge. The Grover tuners are a great addition, they keep the guitar in tune. I record with this guitar and it holds up well. The Coil tap is cool, I only use it for jazz though.

Sound : 9
I listen to every type of music, I love anything from the Velvet Underground to Megadeth to Dr. Dre to John Coltrane, thats why I DEMAND versatility, and this guitar does a great job at that. The Duncan Designed pickups are a bit weak, but I put a JB in the bridge and I love it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Well, I can't say much about the action from the factory because I bought it used. The Action was really high when I bought it. This guitar has a really nice, thin neck and great fret access. I like the 24 frets because as I mentioned before, I like a lot of music, and the heavy metal sweeps up in the 24 area. The Action is low now, and I love it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've played a couple times with this guitar. On one show, the input jack almost completely fell out right before I was playing an important jazz show, but Im not sure if that was the guitar's fault. Otherwise, I would trust it like a brother.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No comment.

Overall Rating : 10
I Practice ALOT, and this guitar couldn't be more perfect for me. If it were stolen, I would probably get pissed off for a while and then I'd buy it again if I found a good price like I did before.

I have owned the guitar for 4 Months and have found that the Duncan Designed pickups in the guitar are versatile and tone-full and can go from a moderately heavy overdrive and a warm clean with the coil tap on. I am playing through an Orange Rockerverb 50. I will probably change them out for real Duncans at some point.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action on the guitar was very high and i will be getting it lowered as soon as soon as i can. I found that after a few months the bridge pickup cavity rattled whenever i played chords. The finish has so far been great and looks outstanding. There were some initial fret flaws in the guitar but they are barely noticeable when playing.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I haven't played live with it but i feel confident that it would withstand a fair beating. The hardware has been OK, but it goes out of tune fairly easily. I replaced the strap buttons with Strap Locks, (as i do on every guitar). The finish has lasted so far and even fairly deep scratches don't show up until seen up very close.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing for four years and have owned a SG Special and now a Standard and wanted to look for something a little different. This Schecter is a great guitar for the money and it is clearly higher quality than most competitors in the price range. If it were stolen i would consider a more expensive guitar that came with better stock pups.
The coil tap is a great feature for a cheapish guitar to have and the finish has so far been great. I recommend anyone looking for a good-quality guitar to check this out.

THis is a very well put together Guitar. Duncan type pickups, two seperate volume controls and one tune control.

Sound : 10
I play alot of soft rock and blues. This Axe sounds great. There is alot of control over each pickup, zero feedback when playing through my Roland Amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Bought it, brought it home and started playing it. Haven't had to tighten or adjust one single thing so far. Had it about 3 months now.
The finish is prefect, mine is the black cherry finish, and just love its looks.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This Axe seams to be very well put together. I double checked all the screws when I brought it home, and everything was nice and tight. The South Koreans did a nice job putting this one together. You get alot of guitar for the money spent.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't had to contact anyone yet. So I have No Opinion on this issue.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing about 30 years now, started on a Gibson SG-3. Owned a Fender Strat for awhile. Played alot of my buddy's stuff. This is one of the best Axes I have played, its a keeper. Only with I didn't let the Gibson go 30 years ago, would have beed worth some good $$$$ by now. I did alot of shopping around before I purchased this Axe. Looked at and tried a whole bunch of other Axes, and for the money this one was the best I found.

I love the features. Schecters come with name brand parts unlike like other brands.

Sound : 10
I just have a 10 watt Marshall practice amp and this guitar sounds great. The duncan designed pick-ups we're just alright. i replaced tem with EMG 81/85s. This guitar is very heavy sounding now. It's got such a nice tone to it. It sounds as good clean as a hollow body.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Every thing about this guitar is perfect. The finish is what caught my attention.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I bought a pretty nice strap for it and it seems to hold great. The chrome harware will last a long time. I love these grovers! I'm not worried about this guitar havin any troubles.

Customer Support : No Opinion
havn't had to use it.

Overall Rating : 10
Don't go spend $3,000 dollars on a Gibson or PRS or fender that won't be as nice as this. Schecter isreally seious about making 5 star guitars. I've played the really expensive stuff. i didn't like them as much as this guitar. The only guitar i'd take over this is The c-1 Hellraiser.

2000 model, made in korea. It has duncan pickups which sound great. Fast playing guitar. the best guitar in my lot of 5. I have a hamer satf and a gibson les paul. This is much better playing guitar.

Sound : 10
The C1 plus sounds great when I play Metal, Blues and rock. I like it so much I want to buy another one.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Like I said before it's a fast playing guitar, heck i can play it one handed. Maybe it can play by it's self. It is a well built guitar in every way.

Reliability/Durability : 10
it real realiable. never had any problems with it. Beautiful finish. Durability? I haven't tried to smash it yet.

I don't know about customer support I haven't had to use it.

I have been playing for 31 years. I goes great with my Marshall avt 275 and my peavey pro fex II. This should be a person's first guitar because it plays so easy and great for the pro doing gigs.

Nicely appointed

Sound : 5
The stock Duncan Designed HB-102 (JB/Jazz) pickups sound NOTHING like the real thing. I compared this guitar to a C-1 Classic that has the real pickups while playing through a PODxt. The HB-102's are VERY dark. I found that I don't like the Jazz neck pickup at all. Way too bassy to be useful. I'm going to replace these with genuine Duncans. Probably with a Duncan Distortion (SH-6) in the bridge and a '59 (SH-1) in the neck.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action was perfect. The neck is awesome. Inlays on the fretboard were perfect. What really makes this guitar shine is the finish. It drew me in from across the showroom. Beautiful in Black Cherry. Only minor flaw is that the bookmatching is off by about 1/4". Another reviewer mentioned this also. The nut was catching one of the strings a bit, but nothing some filing wouldn't help.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Seems very durable. Nice weight and the finish should last. Solid strap buttons, but I'll replace them with StrapLoks. Would never gig without a backup.

Customer Support : 8
I've emailed them questions about their products and the sales team responds quickly.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing 20 years. I own a '86 Ibanez RG-440 and play through a PODxt. This guitar is meant to be the complement to my Ibanez in the studio. I've been looking for a mahogany body H/H guitar for a while now and settled on Schecter after trying the Ibanez offerings.

I'll buy this guitar and replace the pickups. The Duncan Designed JB/Jazz just don't cut it for me. To be fair, in my search I've found that I don't like the Jazz neck pickup to start with. The '59 is more my taste in that department. Also tried the Duncan Distortion SH-6 and found that to be superior to the JB in the bridge, at least for 70's and 80's rock/metal.

I compared this guitar to the Ibanez SZ series and to the Schecter C-1 Classic. Better value for the money than the C-1 Classic, and with the pickups traded out it will be the perfect axe for the same money.

Features have been detailed in other reviews...
Most parts seem to be pretty nice, except maybe the pickups.
Light and very playable. It has 24 frets, which some people like and some don't, but I like it for certain applications, although I often prefer to have fewer since the extra frets make pinch harmonics slightly more difficult. It's a matter of taste and style of music, really.

Sound : 7
My amp is a Peavey Classic 50 212 combo, and my pedals right now are a Fulltone Clyde wah and an Ibanez Tubescreamer TS-9, with a Line 6 DL-4 in the effects loop.
I play several different styles... I have played with a high school hard rock/metal cover band (a lot of 80s metallica) with this guitar, and it's great for that, but it also is well suited to other styles as well. I play blues, jazz (kind of), and various rock styles, and this guitar works well enough for all of them. I would not consider it to be just a metal guitar, and I am not particularly interested in metal myself. The sound is good, not great, in my opinion. The stock pickups seem somewhat lifeless to me, and I intend at some point
For the clean sound (through my classic 50), I would probably rate this guitar a 9. I get a great clean sound with it through the C50. It also sounds quite good on high gain, for fast leads and heavy rhythm guitar parts, probably a deserving 7 or 8. Its in the area in between that this guitar is somewhat weak. For lower gain distorted or overdriven tones, I would probably give this guitar a 5, maybe a 6.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This is where this guitar shines. This is among the most playable electrics I have ever used, at any price. It is an excellent guitar for fast lead playing, in my opinion. It has a very fast neck and feels very comfortable in my hands. I feel that I can play faster, cleaner, and more precise leads on the Schecter than on other guitars. I have not seen any flaws, and the sunburst finish is very nice. Everything seems to be very well set up. The action and set up were good when I bought it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar seems to be very durable and reliable. I have played with it live (with no backup guitar) with no problems. I have had it for over two years now, and the only problem I had was that the potentiometers became dirty (replaced under warranty). The finish seems like it will last. It has a few dings in it after two years, but it still looks good.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have never dealt with the company, but I believe the guitar has a lifetime warranty, and when I had the pots replaced, it was done under warranty.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for about 3 and a half years (more like 1.5-2 when I bought this guitar). If this guitar was stolen or lost, I would buy a new one because for the price I paid ($500), or even for much more, it is a great playing and good sounding guitar (hopefully after I change the pups it will be great sounding, too). For this kind of electric guitar, I haven't played anything better.
