Lots of great features for the price.

Sound : 8
I play this through a marshall tsl 100 and 1960 cab using an uber metal for distortion. This gives me one of the best metal sounds I have ever heard. I can go thrash, shred, or crunch. I would have to say probrably best with the "nu metal" sound. That being said, if you want to play something other than metal than you better have another guitar. Clean is very flat. I still gave it an 8 because if you are buying a Schecter, your're probrably planning on playing metal.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Once of the coolest looking guitars I've seen. No issue from factory. Great action on the bass strings. Great for speed picking. Not a great vertical neck.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Had it a couple years now with no issues.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to talk to them.

Overall Rating : 7
Overall great metal guitar. Not very versitale, but I couldn't imagine my collection without it.

This guitar sounds much better than ANYTHING in it's price range. Tried for two years and I can't do it.m I own and have owned tons of gear. But this guitar has proven itself again and again. the pickups are sensational, the neck VERY comfortable and the silver really grows on you

The features on this guitar are the reason I decided to go with it (secondhand, at that). It comes with real Duncan Humbuckers--a '59 in the neck and a Distortion in the bridge--and those could be tapped via a five way blade selector. The tonal possibilities are endless, but i basically only use 2 different settings: neck and bridge humbucker. The heel on the neck is very smooth, but I have a hard time believing that it's actually a neck-thru design because of the similarities between this heel and the Ultra Access heels that Schecter now has. Either way, it's fantastic. The Tune-O-Matic locking bridge is fantastic, and the precision of intonation is great.

Sound : 10
I love the way this sounds. It's a little different from my other Schecter, which is a C-1+, in that the pickups are way hotter and have more high-end bite than the Duncan Designed pickups in the C-1+. I run it through a Peavey Transtube 100 watt head and it kills.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action needed lowering, but that was a simple task with the Tune-O-Matic bridge. The neck feels great, and has only served to reinforce my pathetic and fanatical adoration for Schecter guitars. The wood is great; the mahogany really gives the tone a lot of fatness that is missing in lower quality (Fender, low end Jacksons, etc.) guitars. I really like the finish, as it's simplicity and sparkle complement my C-1+'s Black cherry flametop and give a nice contrast. This guitar was, by all standards (and especially considering I got it used), as close to flawless as it could get without being hot off the assembly line.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar always passes the test of being a live workhorse, which is the main reason I bought it. It was meant to be a backup, but now I just revolve between this and my C-1+ because I love them both, and I can use either as a backup if a string breaks or something. Like all Schecters, the screws holding the buttons on come loose rather easily, but that is a minor flaw and is easily rectified. I have used it on a gig without a backup, but I don't usually do that. I have had bad experiences with going to a show sans backup guitar.

No idea. The new catalog got to me in a fair amount of time....

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for the better part of 10 years, and I can tell you outright that Schecter guitars are the way to go. I've used them at jazz gigs and I continue to use them regularly at metal shows. They're the best guitars money can buy, and the affordability is ridiculous. This guitar specifically easily competes with--and beats, in my opinion--any PRS, Gibson, Fender, or Ibanez that I've ever played. This guitar is a tank and I look forward to using it for years to come.

Made in Korea. #34 of 100. Made as promotional for Musicians Friend's anniversary. sold for $499.Mahogany body, with Seymore Duncan 59 in the neck and a S/D Distortion in the bridge. Silver finnish is clean but bland and a little thick on the polyglycoat and chips easily (typical Korean). Neck is thicker than Average a little less than the rounded Gibson but nothin like an Ibanez and much thicker than a Strat. Neck thru body gives incredible access with almost no heel. Grover tuners are black chrome as is all hardware. Finish and color knock this down some but I Bought it for what it was and not what it looed like

Sound : 6
This is probably not a guitar for clean or high end. It can be warm and subtle and shreds pretty well, Pickups work as advertised. Doesn't blow away a Gibson LP by any means but holds her own

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Finish is actually very thin as it is on all guitars from Korea. Good hardware. Good TOM bridge, string thru body, graphite nut and action can be adjusted lower than most (if you like it that way) because of the neck thru design. Quality of finnish and color once again bring this down.

Reliability/Durability : 6
Chippied it the first day by looking at it but once agian I bought this guitar for the neck thru, mahogany body, S/D pickups, the grover tuners and to piss my wife off! not to look at. It does play nice but it was $499 and I would never recomend not bringing a backup for anything!!

I Love this part. It has gotten to the point where it is almost hard to take these seriosly because in the catogories of rating a guitar everbody seems to have been playing for years and owns Gobs of Les Pauls and American Starts and blah, blah, blah and everthings a 9 or 10. I'm sorry but this is an above average $500 guitar that had some of the things I like on it, a cheesey glossy bland finish and an OK shape It is what it is. If it were stolen I'd buy something else. I like this guitar but there is a lot to choose from in this price range and I'd probably try a Godin

2003 Schecter C1 Steath Musicians Friend 20th Anniversary edition. Made in Korea, 24 frets, Carved top, 5 way selection, HH. Seymour Duncan 59 in the neck, Seymour Duncan SH Distortion in the bridge. The body is solid mahogany, and I belive the neck is a 3 peice mahogany. The guitar has a nice platinum finish that sparkles in the light. It is a strat style guitar, but 10 times better than a strat. It has a TonePros locking bridge, Grover Tuners, Jumbo Frets, Rosewood fingerboard. A cable and a allen wrench was included (and thrown away).

Sound : 9
My guitar suit my sound ok, but I wish the pickups were more clearer. I started out playing SRV, clapton, etc., but then moved on to metal. This guitar is very good for metal, it can shred. Im using a Peavey Classic 50 head, and a Fender US 4x10 cab, which is a very great stack for basically any sound you want. I use the distortion on the Peavey. The guitar hardly ever has feedback, but if it does, it only occurs when the sound is way too high. This guitar can basically play any style of music, but the pickups were made for metal or hard rock. I personally like the way its sounds, but when I get a new guitar, I will buy EMGs with it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The Factory set up was pretty good, although it need bridge adjusting. I also changed the standard GHS strings they put on it to D'addario XL blues 11's. This really improved the playability. The paint job was very good, the paint is durable. I did get a nick that went through the wood though, but it shows off the beautiful quality mahogany they used to make it. It dings very easily, but it usually doesnt go through the wood. The factory did a very good job with installing and leveling the frets. Everything was tight, except for the input jack nut which comes loose alot. The tuners stay in tune for a long time. I might upgrade the plastic nut to a brass one.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar plays great live. The hardware seems like it will last for a long time, so does the finish. IThe stock strap buttons kept making my strap slip off, so I bought straplocks and they work perfect. I could depend on this guitar alot for playing live, however, I would bring a backup just incase a string pops.

Customer Support : 10
I havent really dealt with them, they seem like nice people, and send lots of emails.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 3 and a half years, and have owned many other guitars, which do not come anywhere close to this one. I wish I knew about it not having any inlays but it is ok. I immeadiatley saw it in the magazine, and I knew that I needed it. It's number 73/100. I wish it had a Floyd Rose tremolo, but oh well. If you find this guitar anywhere, grab it when you see it, these babys are rare.

The other guy Said all the specs. I give this a 9 however because there was only one inlay, and they said the 24th fret was inlaid w/ a number, and it's not, it's CARVED IN. But it's done neatly so w/e.

Sound : 10
At first it takes a while to adjust, but once you can it sounds great. I think it's just my crappy amp though. Genuine Duncan Pickups. Really gives your sound a boost.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Setup was OK. I only had to raise the bridge a bit. Finish was excellent and high quality.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar's pretty tough. Though I'd be careful with it anyway, cuz it's so great. Strap buttons are big and wide, so strap falling off doesn't relaly happen. The Finish seems to be tough. Never gig w/out a backup.

Haven't delt w/ em

I'm been playing for about a year. I got really good in that amount of time, spending hours a day practising. I own this, a Yamaha 335 Acoustic an Ibanez GRX40 electric. I play through a few pedals and a whiny ibanez amp. The only thing I hated was the price, haha I'm kinda cheap. But if it cost 3x more I would believe it. I chose this cuz.......finding the right guitar is hard nowadays. Fender sucks, Gibson's too pricy, etc. I just wish it had more inlays. Great Value

new 2003 schecter musicians friend limited edition platnium. number 39 out of 100 guitars made. 24 frets, volume, tone, 5 way switching w/ two humbuckers (coil tapping). seymour duncan distortion in bridge seymour duncan 59 in neck. mahogany body, not sure bout the neck. neck-thru construction. beautiful platnium finish. tonepros bridge. grover tuners. 25.5" scale, nice kindof medium sized neck. rosewood fingerboard. came w/ a couple of allen wrenches and a cheap cable (oh boy!)

Sound : 9
I'm usin this thing right now to replace my ibanez ax for open c tuning. initially, the unplugged sound isnt too inspiring, but thats not what ya buy an electric guitar for, is it? i run this thing through a fulltone wah, a marshall guv'nor plus distortion pedal, boss dd-5 delay, and a boss ce-2 modded by robert keeley into the low input on a marshall jcm 800 2203 100 watt head and 1961B 2X12. the duncan distortion is definatly not made for clean stuff, but if ya tap it, it sounds great. lots of versatility, the only setting i didnt like was the coil tap on the rhythm pickup through distortion. just got a little too tinny for my tastes, was hoping for a tom morillo-style ballsy single coil neck sound, but i can always swap out that pickup later. really crunchy sound when on the bridge pickup through distortion. i usually play a f***ed up version of hard rock w/ a bunch of weird chords (dont believe in usin power chords all the time, gets boring). this thing works like a charm. i'll probably change the pickups later to dimarzios, cause i've always liked those better than duncans, but these are amazing for stock pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
guitar was almost in tune when i got it. think it was set up w/ 9's, action was nice and low. im tuning CGCGCe with tnt boomers, the action's below 1/16th of an inch and i dont get any buzzing whatsoever. amazing. 25.5 inch scale tightens things up a bit more than my old ibanez ax, w/ its 24.75" scale. pickup height's fine. everythings as good as i coulda asked for.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
dont really know yet, seems to be built really well. electronics look pretty clean. should be wailin many years into the future

never dealt with them

i've been playin about 3 1/2 years, and in that time i've learned to be very picky about tone. maybe not as nice as my les paul, but definatly has the feel, features, and sound of a guitar 3 times its price. if it was stolen, i'd buy another one (If i could find one). blows any ibanez outta the water (not too big of a fan of ibanez anyways) would be nice if instead of the 5 way switching it had a push-pull pot for coil tapping, but oh well. also wish the unplugged tone was a little better, but thats just nit-picking. overall, excellent guitar, excellent value.
