It has a great chunky sound. I use it for my bands songs in drop C tuning. I adjusted the bridge (with difficulty) and now I get great whammy action and great sustain. I love the tone. The only thing I think may be a minus is its heavy weight. Though I am used to the weight now. My BC Rich Warlock weighs about half the weught of this beast.

It was set up well, but had to adjust the bridge for drop C tuning. I bought this guitar a bit cheap because it was a factory blemished model. Though I found no blemishes whatsoever. Great quality and solid build.

I have broken strings onstage a few times due to burrs on my bridge saddles. (I have fixed that) This guitar is tough!!! I threw it pretty hard during a gig (I get into it, METAL!!!)Anyways, after checking for damage later, it was not even out of tune!!! I was sure I cracked the neck or something. Passed my test hahaha

I bought this guitar in June of 2006 as a Fathers Day gift for myself. 24 fret, carved top, matte black finish with bat inlays, H/H with passive EMG HZH4's, Basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Bridge is licensed Floyd Rose, Grover tuners. No accessories were included other than a useless cable and the wrenches for the truss and Floyd.
The finish looks really sharp. Very well done and very unique. The inlays are a bat design which are also well done. The neck is a bit on the fat side, and the fretboard is unusually wide, which I find desirable because I have large hands. Others who have played my Schecter have had varying opinions of it, with the smaller handed players tending not to care for it.
The Floyd is solid, as most are. The arm mounts in a way opposite of other Floyd's I've owned. The arm on this Floyd has a nut which screws onto a post on the bridge. I've found that I prefer this style to the other as the action of the bar is much more positive, with little or no slack.

I've been playing for sixteen years. I play all sorts of stuff and own several different guitars, each I own for playing a different style. I bought this for high gain, high distortion material, played while tuned 1/2 step down. It suits that style perfectly. This guitar can produce some very nice, almost Strat-like (...almost) clean tones with fresh strings.
Initially it was not noisy at all, with the HZ's performing very well, but unfortunately, the bridge pickup has become microphonic and is producing terrible feedback anytime the guitar is "idle" (volume up, nothing played). It did not do that when it was new. It needs to go to the repair shop, but hasn't made it there yet due to the fact that I live in Po'dunk small town in Iowa and the closest quality repair shop is miles and miles away...
I play this guitar through an Ibanez TB-100R amplifier with a crybaby.

It was set up quite well from the factory. I only had to adjust the bridge when I went from the standard tuning to 1/2 step down. I found no other flaws with the guitar out of the box.

This particular guitar (mine, I mean), would not be worthy of live play at the moment due to its pickup situation, but with that corrected it would be dependable. The tuning is solid because of the Floyd system, and the hardware is outstanding, although I did replace the strap buttons with Dunlop strap locks as I do on all of my guitars. I

I haven't dealt with them although I suppose it might be worth a try to contact them over the pickup situation.

I've been playing for 16 years and own several other guitars:
Les Paul, PRS SE Custom, Strat, Tele, Jackson King V, ESP Eclipse, and a few acoustics.
If I lost it I'd replace it for sure. Its look is incredibly unique and its perfect dimensionally for me as a player. I considered some ESP products when I bought this but chose it due to its unique look (I bought it through MF, so I had not played it until it arrived).

Its got a satin black finish with Pearl inlays which are so amazing. Its got locking tuners with a Floyd Rose licensed tremolo. It also has a set of EMG's in it.

Its perfect for metal and thats about it. The clean sucks don't even try to make it sound good clean. But since I mostly play metal/Progressive it suits me perfectly since I have a Les Paul custom. I bought this guitar to use while I painted my Les Paul. I like it ALOT! Its amazing to mess around with. and with the right amp has great sustain.

When I got this guitar the action was set perfectly for standard tunning. I dropped it to "c" and wow screwed it to Hell. I spent hours trying to fix it. which I knew it would be hard to do but dang it took forever! It has a great finish.

I put Dunlop Strap locks on it as soon as I got it so I don't know about the stock strap pegs. It has stood up through a couple gigs cuz I mostly play my Les Paul I haven't used it that much but its very durable and should last me a long time.

Compared to my Les Paul Custom this thing comes fairly close to being my favorite guitar. I really enjoy playing it and showing it off! I would buy this again if it ever got stolen or anything happened to it. And there is no way you can beat the price on this guitar.

There are very few satin finish guitars and most of them didn't look great at all but Schecter's really pull the look off nicely, plus it adds both sophistication and mystique to a guitar that usually chugs out monster chords! You've got to hand it to Schecter, they really have done a great job with their guitar line! For a base MSRP of $549, you get a dead-accurate Floyd Rose bridge, stock EMG's (I don't know the model) which complement the warm tone of the basswood body, smooth Grover tuners, and the refined sound of a Schecter.

Schecter's, especially C-1's, are extremely versatile. Despite my influences from the NuMetal genre, I'm a BB King fan and when I played this guitar in Guitar Center the first song I tried was "Lucille". I was impressed! As I said before, it has a refined sound which is distinct among the "modern" brands. (Face it, you just can't tell an Ibanez from an ESP) and its basswood body gives it a warm tone while the stock EMG's streamline it for a drier, punchier, more rhythmic sound. It sounds great on any amp, though Crates and Ibanezs sound best. The only dislike I have is that the sound quality isn't as great when you tune it down.

I can't say much about the action because no matter what model there are always some which got finished in a Friday afternoon but mine came out okay. The only thing I didn't like was that the design of the body was extremely generic.

The satin black finish is nice. I'm sure it would scratch easily, and it takes a lot of patience to "polish" out the fingerprints. But very cool and fits the guitar nicely. The body is more or less a Schecter C-1 body, with the same carved top and contours. Nice and comfy, but being made of basswood, it's a bit heavier than my C-1 Artist or C-1 Exotic. Not as bad as a Les Paul, though. The Floyd Rose-licensed tremelo seems to work well enough, but it doesn't stay in tuner all that well when you dive bomb with it. I don't care much for the tremelo arm with the threaded bushing. It won't stay tightened very well, but it's not that bad. It's better than most Floyd Rose-licensed trems out there. The tuners are Grover Rotomatics and they work fine, but that's not a big deal considering the fact that this thing has a double-locking trem. The bolt-on maple neck isn't bad. About the same sort of feel as a Jackson DX-series neck. I'm not a major fan of bolt-on neck guitars, but with Schecter, it's either this or a C-1 Hellraiser FR if you want a Floyd Rose-type trem and this one's half the price of the Hellraiser. Anyway, I don't whammy that much, so if you don't either, this one is decent enough for occasional whammying. Just don't pretend you're Steve Vai or anything. Most people will like the 3-way pickup toggle switch over a 3-way blade, but not I. Anyway, that's a minor issue. The EMG-HZ H4 passive bridge pickup is nice and sharp, providing a cutting tone and great harmonics, typical of a high-output ceramic pickup. I honestly can't tell much difference between it and an EMG 81. The H4Z bridge pickup uses alnico magnets and has a deep, full sound that's great for clean playing. The pickups are the best part of this guitar, in my opinion.

This guitar is made for hard rock and metal. The neck pickup will work for strumming chords, but the bridge pickup needs to be distorted for it to sound decent. I'm mostly a blues player, but when I want to play heavy stuff, this is my axe. It's not as smooth-playing as an Ibanez RG, but it has more tone. Sounds great through a Marshall JCM 800 series 50-watt half-stack and equally good through a Marshall AVT20 20-watt combo. The pickups are nice and quiet when you're not playing. The bridge pickup is plenty articulate enough for shred, though there are better pickups out there. The harmonics are bright and pronounced. But between the bolt-on neck and the tremelo, the sustain and resonance suffers a bit. This is a guitar for headbangers, though. Not for tone critics.

Schecter is generally pretty good about setting up their guitars well at the factory. This one needed some adjustment. The bridge pickup was nearly touching the strings, the intonation was off, the action was slide-guitar high, and after about 10 seconds of playing, it was apparent that there was notable upbow in the neck which needed truss rod adjustment to correct. Once the neck was straightened out and the bridge pickup was lowered, intonating and lowering of the action was a breeze with the easy-to-adjust tremelo. Aside from the setup, the guitar was fine. It's plenty fast with the trem lowered flush with the body (into the cavity) and everything seems solid.

This guitar looks wicked with the satin black finish and black pearloid bat inlays. Looks even better now that I swapped the black hardware that came on it with black chrome parts from a C-1 FR. But it's not as tough as it looks. It's got a thin finish and it doesn't stay in tune as good as a guitar with a genuine Floyd Rose. If you're a lead player, you should probably opt for the C-1 Hellraiser FR.

Schecter makes guitars well. They sometimes slip up on the factory setups. They never answer my queries. 'Nuff said.

It's not a bad guitar for the price. It rivals Ibanez models in the price range it's in and flat-out beats comparably-priced Jacksons. You could do a lot worse than this. If you have to have a flat-black guitar with vampire flair, this is your guitar.

I play through a GNX4 Guitar Workstation. I love the heavy sound I can get with this guitar. I was looking for a metal guitar, and this fits the bill nicely. Very quiet, with a thick sound.

I understand they are made in Korea and then adjusted in the States. The frets feel fantastic. The dealer set it up for me with Boomers (.10's). It was absolutely perfect out of the hardshell case, it was actually still in tune. I love the satin black look of the body. No flaws on the body.

This guitar is built like a brick house - it just feels solid. I do not play live but I would be very surprised if it couldn't withstand the rigors of live playing. About 60 days after getting it, the volume pot no longer turns the volume all the way down. The rest of the hardware seems dependable. The floyd rose holds tune very nicely - I very rarely need to adjust the tuning on it. The original case was poorly manufactured as the feet broke throught the hardshell within the first week.

Very helpful. I was sent a replacement hard shell case and was told to keep the damaged one (which I now have my used Omen-6 in). I called about the volume pot, and I had a new one in my hands within 7 days. I am not happy about the fact that they do not cover shipping costs to replace the defective pot (I will have to spend $20 to have it replaced within the warranty period), but overall they have been very easy to deal with.

I would buy another one in a heartbeat. The neck size is perfect for my hands, it looks sharp, sounds great and feels very durable. And to get a decent tremolo for $400, I couldn't be happier.

I bought my Schecter Damien FR a few months ago from music123.com .It was made in Korea.I think 2005 because it was brand new model. It has 24 jumbo frets,3-way switch ,two humbucker type pickups (EMG`s H4 bridge and H4A neck). It has also maple neck (not very thin) and licensed floyd rose system. The tuners are Grover. The finish is satin black with bats painted on the neck instead of points.

It sounds to me 100% the pups are really hot .I`m playing really heavy metal .The bridge pickup makes me feel I`m Zakk @#$%^& Wylde doing harmonics everywhere. It has sharp and strong tone. You can crank your drive knob to the max and the tones are perfect I mean no any extra noise no greasy chords. The neck is bright and punchy again ,but different "punchness" it's good for sweep arpeggios ,or tapping , for clean sound it gives you a little dark tone.I'm using the (combination) middle position of the switch for my solos. The volume knob works fine ,you are able to control your tone precision from almost clean to the most distorted level.Overall there is no noise with these set of pups.My rig is guitar >yamaha fx500 >behringer v-amp pro > marshall avt20 combo or guitar > yamaha fx500>peavey bandit 112.The second I`m using for heavy rhythm and hi-gain solos I mean behringer drive is not enough sometimes.on both processors noise reductuion systems are set to zero.

Not very good setup unfortunately. It had stamp "Setup to play by Shecter USA" but the action was awful I mean really high position.I spent a lot of time to set the strings (low action ,prevent buzz)and to do the pups i like them to be realy close to the strings .The guitar came with set of 0.010 - 0.054 GHS strings they were fine. The floyd rose system took me hours to make it work 100%.The neck was good there was no need to turn the nut inside it.Also I did the intonation. After that it's excellent in every aspect.I think this is something usuall(not good set-up)because it's a middle class guitar I never have the chance to buy 2000$ guitar :)

I`ve been playing for 5 years and I`m not a guru but this is my favorite axe .It's a shredding device.I got also one Epiphone Les Paul classic,Stagg I300 and 2 acoustic guitars.I`m using peavey bandit 112 and marshall avt20 combos, behringer v-amp and I do not have enough money for big rack units and still playing with yamaha fx500 simul effects processor. If it were stolen or lost I will buy the same axe.I love the pups and again the crazy harmonics it can produce better than my epiphone with fixed bridge .if the neck was a little thinner like Ibanez Rg series i would be happier.
