Made in 2001 in the USA, It has a 24 Jumbo fret on a 25 1/2" scale. The unglossed neck gives an amazing smooth transition between chords. Solid top string through design is awesome. Love the Finish. I have the discontinued Grey finish with the black body graphic. Two seymour duncan humbuckers a SH-6 at the bridge, a SH-2 at the neck. The tune-o-matic bridge rocks and it features grover tuners with the smoothest action to make your tuning refined. I got the hard case with it which is perfectly molded to cradle my baby.

It is perfect for my music style. I use a Marshall JCM 2000 with it. Nice and quiet, no noise. Real ful and rich sound. Shred with the bridge humbucker and sing with the neck humbucker. I love this guitar. It plays better than my Les Paul. Just make sure you replace the strings once they get old or then you will notice a decrease in richness. Don't listen to that review that dipshit eddie made. He knows jack squat about guitars.

I am completely happy with the factory set up. I have played this guitar at all sorts of music shops and so far I have been satisfied with the set up every time.

This guitar will withstand anything you can throw at it. Finish can even withstand hot solder since the idiot guitar tech at the shop spilled some on the back. The finish is still perfect. The strap buttons are solid but a cool modification is the dunlop strap-lok system. I can always depend on it to stay in tune. I live on the west coast and the temperature and humidity change every 5 minutes but the guitar will stay in tune. It loses maybe half a step per week if left to face the elements. I would use it on any gig without any backup I Am that confident in the product.

I have been playing it for three years and have never had a problem with it. If it was ever stolen I would find the person kick the crap out of them and beat them over the head with my Les Paul (I don't want to use my schecter) And buy a new one. Even owning one already, I am still wanting to buy another ne.

2002, archtop string through body metal machine. A pair of seymour duncn pickups, 3 way toggle, 2 volume 1 tone pot, roach inlay and body graphic. The one I have is red with black trim. This guitar has all the features I would expect from a great guitar.

I play metal and whoever says this guitar cant play metal must be on crack! Once I plugged this guitar into my ampeg vh140c half stack it was so easy to shred on. The pickups are no way muddy and they give a great high output scooped sound without loosing tone. Its not noisey, and for the price it beats the crap out of all the other guitars Ive played in guitar center at the time. Buy this guitar not for the roach, but the bonecrushing sound it gives out. A true metal guitar in my book.

factory set up is good, but I like to use 10 guage instead of 9s. Action was good, but I like it a little lower, like one full turn on both screws of the bridge. I like my pickups a little lower than what the factory had it but no biggie. Dont get me wrong, for some people the setup may be perfect, but for me it was a little off.

Okay, Im shure every guitar in guitar center gets played a ton of times by little kids or teenagers. So most of the time guitars are out of tune or the strings are shot or something. Not this thing, perfectly in tune and I myself seen everyone play this guitar in the store. Built like a tank, everything is very tight and sturdy. Defenatley a show/tour ready guitar that wont let you down.

Dont let or read anything that says this guitar sucks. 9 out of 10 times when people give a bad review of a guitar is because either they dont know how to use it, bought the wrong one for their style or budget or simply they suck. Trust me even if your still learning this guitar will make you sound better. Its easy to play. hangs well on the body, and most importantly sound killer. Ive been playing metal lead guitar for 10 going on 11years, been through 5 bands and 20 guitars and this schecter is one of the best hands down.

This the Jerry Horton Signature Model, made in 2002.Solid mahogany body, rosewood fingerboard and 25 1/2" neck. 3 way pick selector, and slightly arched top. It was finished in gloss black, with a dead roach near the bridge. If you're reading this, you know how this guitar looks like, and you really should look elsewhere. I'll tell you why soon. I didn't buy this guitar, i just gave it a test run at a local music store. I'm Malaysian so when i say test run, it's basically just a short spin around the block. The SD pickups are pretty screwed, it's got a dab of midrange and a chock full of bass through the amp i tried out.(randall). I thought it was the pick up selection, so i just switched it to the neck pickup. Wha? It's muddy as hell. Is it just this guitar or the whole range?

I doesn't suit my music style.I doubt it'll suit anyone's music style. Unless you like playing 'underwater' music. Cause it sounds as though you're playing this guitar under 10 feet of water. I hate the sound and i hate the feel of the guitar. Does not resonate enough, and the sustain's as short as a pre pubescent's wet dream. I don't like papa roach, and i think their music could use a little more flair to their song writing, but now i know why their music is a little tasteless. It's the guitar's sound. Dry dry dry.

The finish is alright. The cockroach looks nice. The frets were glued nicely, and the set up, intonation and string gauge, are all fine to me. It's factory set up, cause the store i went to knows shit about guitars. The salesman doesn't even know what a C-1 Elite is. And he's supposed to be selling Schecter guitars. There was not a single ding on the guitar, the gloss finish is very nicely done, looks expensive, and in Malaysia it is expensive. So for this finish, with absolutely zero flame or quilt, and the price they're charging in Malaysia, this guitar's going to have a tough time getting out of the shop. But that's my opinion. The pickups were too muddy, and the intonation was fine up till the 12th fret, when it started going haywire. No Satriani or Vai interval pickings. It sounds as though you're playing an arabian song instead. So boys and girls, unless you're an avid papa roach fan, and you absolutely have to own this guitar, just close one eye and pretend you didn't see this guitar.

Will this guitar withstand live playing? I guess so. If Jerry uses it, i suppose it should at least last for a gig or two without blowing up in your face. The hardware seems as though it will last, as they say, if a nuclear holocaust occurs, they only ones alive on this earth would be the roaches; and this guitar of course. Will i depend on it? Haha..no way. I don't like the sound of this guitar. I feel like gritting my teeth every time i do a sweep picking run.Would i use for a gig? No. but if change the pickups, the tuners, the neck and maybe the top...wait..i might as well get another guitar. :)

As much as i hate this model, Schecter guitars are one of the best companies,(aside from PRS) which replies my question as fast as i ask them. The C1 Elite and Classic are better guitars for the money. The finish looks better, and the Maple tops on those guitars make them look better, and sound a tad more brighter. Schecter gets a thumbs up from me.

I've been playing for about 10 years now. I currently own over 10 guitars, and intend to own some more, probably become a collector someday. I have a PRS Custom 24, Gibson Les Paul Standard Premium Plus, Peavey Wolgang, Ibanez JS10th, Fernandes Sustainer, Epiphone Les Paul Custom (which i hate as well, big mistake) Epiphone Les Paul Special (extreme value for money guitar, get it, you'll love it) and a couple of acoustics and a classical. I know, i'm banging this guitar after playing it for less than an hour, in a very uninspiring store, with a less than helpful bunch of promoters , through a very lackluster amp, but a guitar doesn't have to be amplified to sound good, it doesn't have to be played in a comfortable place to make it special and it doesn't need promoting to make it desirable. This guitar had so much going for it, especially since its based on the more enticing and all the more playable model which is the C-class. Probably i played a rotten egg. Or maybe Schecter cut some corners, cause its a signature series guitars i don't know. But please, Schechter, quality control please?

A lovely new guitar, made in 2001(USA), with a solid mahogany body, unfinished maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. The 25 1/2" neck is very easy to play, and the 24 Jumbo frets give heaps of creative room. It comes loaded with dual Seymour-Duncan humbuckers- an SH-6 (Duncan Distortion) at the bridge and an SH-2 (Jazz) in the neck. Each hum has its own volume control. There is a master tone control, and three-way switching. The strings are saddled on a Tune-O-Matic bridge, with Schecter's unique "String-thru-Body" design (Very nice touch). Black hardware all around, including Grover tuners. I got a hard case with it, an allen key and a small cable.

Since I play a lot of Metal and Rock, this guitar suits me fine. I use it with a Peavy 112 Bandit with a Boss Phaser and Chorus. The Seymour-Duncan hums are almost silent, and this is with the vloume up full. The SH-6 at the bridge has a real raw sound to it which I love, and the SH-2 is a little mellower. You can achieve some really good highs and mids with this thing, the low ends are alright too but I tend to concentrate higher up. The clean tone (although I don't use it much) is not bad. It sounds a hell of a lot better than my Squier Strat, and better than my Schecter C-1.

My guitar was set up perfectly when I got it, I didn't have to change a single thing... ok, I lied, I changed to slightly heavier Dean Markley "Blue Steel" strings. The pickups were at just the right height, as were the strings. In fact, the one I got was pretty much perfect. The gloss white finish on mine looks the dog's, with the black roach complementing the bright finish. The smaller roach on the 12th fret looks the biz, too. The black binding (Body/Headstock) pretty much finishes it off.

This axe was built to withstand nuclear war, I swear it! I've had it for a good seven months now, and I've played around eight gigs... there is not one scratch on the finish after heavy playing. Anyone who's seen Papa Roach live will know how much Jerry thrashes this guitar- I basically decided to do the same :D and it still looks and plays fine. I trust this thing with my life. The strap hasn't fallen off yet, but I'm not sure I'd use this without a backup.

I generally think this is one of the best guitars I have ever played. The SD humbuckers and 24 frets give you tons of tonal versatility, plus this axe looks simply great! And although it fits me fine, it would be good if you ould get it in a larger/smaller scale, and possibly with a seperate tone control for each pickup.

This guitar was made in 2001 in the U.S. It has 24 jumbo frets on the 25 1/2" scale neck. The bolt-on neck is made out of unfinished maple, while the fretboard is rosewood. The body is a solid piece of archtoped mohagony. It has a 3-way selector switch to control the 2 Seymour Duncan Jerry Horton custom-wound passive humbuckers. There's a volume for the neck pickup, a volume for the bridge pickup, then a master tone control. I got the gloss black finish with the silvery/gray roach. The body-style is basically like a strat. The strings go through the body and rest atop a tune-o-matic bridge. The tuners are black Grovers. It came with a hardshell flight case, a truss-rod allen wrench, and a cheap 1/4" cable. I would've liked separate tone controls because the neck pickup is a little bright, so it gets a 9.

I play metal and really hard rock. I bought this guitar because it had a good combination of solo and rhythm feel to it. The medium size, unfinished neck makes solos and slamming rhythms a breeze. I run this into my 5150 head and 5150 slant cab. Between the guitar and the head is a Bad Horsie wah. In the loop of the 5150 is (in order) a Boss Chorus Ensemble, a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, a BBE 482 Sonic Maximizer, then a Boss Noise Supressor pedal. The pickups aren't very noisy considering how hot they are. They're not as quiet as EMG's, but they're still pretty quiet. All the knobs on the guitar are at 10. The sound is thick like a Les Paul, but cutting like an Ibanez. This guitar has a really good combination of bottom end and presence. I think the pickups could have a little less bass to them, since I like to get my bass from the amp. The clean on this guitar is pretty good. The neck pickup is modeled after a Duncan Jazz model, so it's nice and warm, with a little "bite" to it. The bridge pickup is modeled after a Duncan Distortion (SH-6), so it's pretty hot and it cuts very nice. This combination really compliment my 5150. I play with extreme gain too. This pickup has a little less output then a EMG-81, with a little less picking dynamics. These pickups are a little more colorful and "full" sounding though. I'm not a die-hard Papa Roach fan, although I do like them. I bought this guitar because of the playability, looks, sound, etc. When I saw Papa Roach live, Jerry had one of the best guitar sounds I've ever heard...and I've been to a lot of concerts! This guitar is pretty light, but sustains and plays like a dream. I love the sound and playability of this guitar. It plays easier than my EMG-loaded Les and sounds just as good.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action on this thing was perfect when I got it. I change to heavier strings (10-52), and the action went a little out of whack. I tune to dropped-D, down a half-step. I had a friend adjust it and now it's perfect again. The intonation on this beast is amazing!! I swear it has the "Buzz Feiten" tuning system on it! The pickups were a little low, so I adjusted those and the sound is better and a lot hotter. I also adjusted the pole pieces so different strings were a little brighter, louder, tighter sounding, etc. The bridge was setup really nice, like I said, the intonation was outstanding. The G string was binding up a little at the nut, so that had to be filed and now works fine. The finish is spectacular! The gloss black finish is very smooth and sleek. There's white binding on the body and headstock too. The silver roach really compliments the finish on this thing. The roach isn't a sticker either, it's a part of the finish! The fretboard doesn't have any markers either, except for the roach at the 12th fret. The two roaches really look good on the guitar.

If anybody's ever seen Papa Roach play live, they'll know this guitar will take one hell of a beating. This guitar is made to withstand hard playing. The hardware will definitely withstand all the abuse anyone can give it. The finish is nice, but not too thick either. It will last for quite a while. There is no pickguard though, so you might want to watch how hard you strum. The strap buttons are pretty nice for being stock. They're a little bigger than most, so the strap will have a harder time coming off. I put Dunlop strap-locks on though, so there's NO chance of the strap falling off. I know this guitar can be depended on. I've seen these things withstand heavy abuse and still sound great. I would never use ANY guitar without a backup. NOTHING is that trust-worthy! I would say this guitar is very reliable though. It will take lots of abuse and still play and sound great.

If you're into metal, hard rock, or music like Papa Roach, this guitar is really nice. I own 4 guitars now: EMG-loaded Les Paul Standard, a Squier with a Floyd Rose, a Washburn acoustic/electric, and this one. I've gone through about 5 amps now! I'll never get anything else but the 5150 series. These amps can do amazing this, if you know how to use them. I really like the pickups on this guitar. They have a great cutting sound, but a thick bottom with lots of mids. It has a more colorful sound than my Les Paul, but doesn't have quite that thick or hot of a sound. I wish I could've gotten the signature model with a Floyd Rose. That would have been a 10!! It's a great solo/rhythm guitar. For the money, this guitar is a pretty good value. If available with a Floyd Rose, it would've gotten a 10.
