2001 model. i think it is made in korean. It does not tell where is it made. Only a series number.
22 frets 25.5. scale. this is really good because the front pickup closer to the fingerboard. the distance between the neck pu and bridge pu is more far then the 24 fret 25.5 scale guitar. It gives more deep and strong tone. Nice for jazz.
Mine is natural quilt maple top . mohogany back. rosewood fingerboard. binding on the neck and body. two hum
One vol; one tone. two duncan design(maybe change to real one) coil spilt by pull the tone 3 way
Grover tuner, fixed bridge.string thru body. all gold hardware.
light weight

Sound : 9
I play rock since i play guitar. i start at 17. im 20 now i m going to learn and play jazz and blue. so i need this type of guitar.
i use a small amp
the sound is quit good; better than my ibanez rg470(japan ) and esp v100. may be they are made of basswood.i got emg 81 85 in my ibanez. My esp has the same pickups as my schecter( duncan design).
i should change the cap in the schecter the sound is not treble enough ;when i compare with my esp duncan i figure it out. i will make it more treble
it sound bright i damn nice clear in the low E . my bassw ood guitar get warmer but eat mud all the time.
the sound is full and long sustain because of the gutar's construction.
i have one thing don't like the guitar is the output jack. They make the wood angled in the edge so it is not a curve looking in the output jack. i though this guitar is a mistake. but i have checked out all the pt elite in the internet. they are like this. It is the design of the company.
but it just doesn't like a fender tele or others. They may want to make the ouput jack place look more special.
It lok really decent and good overall.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
no flaw except the binding is not prefect. the edge of the body paint is touching the binding little bit . but u will not notice it except your eye is super close to there
low action comfortable neck.
bolt on like fender, there is a "Schecter" written in the metal plate.
the nut is not very good go find some bone nut.
the tuner is good. IT is grover.

Reliability/Durability : 10
damn reliable but light weight may be the bridge is light. I mean without floydrose.
i would gig it without backup i don't buy tremolo guitar again they are horrible.

Customer Support : 9
good support . the dealer give me one year warranty.
the comapny has the lifetime limted warranty come with.

Overall Rating : 10

I bought this guitar used and got a very good deal on it. Mine has a natural quilted finish and gold hardware. The tone knob is also a push/pull switch to split the humbucker into a single coil. That was a really cool feature and I like that alot because it adds quite a bit of versatility to the guitar. It also came with Grover tuners.

Sound : 10
The Duncan Designed pickups are great, some people have complained about them but honestly they don't sound much different at all from the Duncan originals. I contacted Schecter to find out what pickups they emulated. The neck pickup is a '59 and the bridge is a JB. The neck pickup is really smooth, good for blues and jazz, in either the single or humbucking position, has lots of mid though. The Bridge pickup is pure rock & roll, It's JUST RIGHT, the output isn't too high or too low. It's great for all kinds of music, even metal can be played on it. Mostly what I play is STP style rock or blues. The only little problem I had is with feedback at high volume from the bridge pickup, but that happens with almost all guitars. I love this guitar because of the versatility. You can get a huge variety of tones because of all the pickup switching options. You can make it sound like a Strat, Tele, or Les Paul. But because of the Tele neck and bolt on construction, the Fender sound is most apparent.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
All of the hardware is top notch, the tuners are very smooth also. I bought the guitar used so I had a setup done on it immediatly and it plays like butter now. I don't really have much to complain about. The Finish is beautiful too.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I always bring a backup guitar whenever I play live. But this thing is built very well. Everything is pretty solid on it. I think I could use this guitar regularly for years upon years and it will still sound as good as it does now.

Customer Support : 9
I called Schecter to order some parts even though I bought the guitar used and it wasn't under warranty, within two days I had the parts and wasn't charged for them either.

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar seems to have everything I was looking for, I'm very happy with it.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Curly maple top, mahogany body, etc. etc. Mine did not come with a case.

Sound : 7
I play classic rock, C&W, and am learning the blues. I play through a Rocktron Chameleon on-line pre-amp, with a QSC RMX-850 power amp and a pair of EV SX-100 speakers. The pick-up's are dead quiet, even when single coils are selected. I can't give the sound a 10 like allot of people have, beause the pick-up's just arn't that good. Dont get me wrong, for the price of this guitar they are a heck of a value and certainly do have a good sound, but there are other pick-up's I would rather ave and will definately update these in the future. I find all pick-up combinations have a bright sound and I have to back the tone down a bit where I normally prefer to set it at it's highest treble point and leave it. I just do not get the fullness to the sound that I would like. My son has an Anderson Cobra and a Godin LGX so I have a pretty high referece point. I would love to hear this guitar with the Anderson P/U's. However, even with the current pick-up's I can coax many different sounds out of this axe. I should also mention that in this price range I have heard nothing that sound better.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Set-up was beautiful right out of the box. Intonation is good down the neck, frets are all even and are jumbo's which I really like. The top is curly maple, but this guitar appears to have really thick finish applied because the natural look of the wood doesn't come through that well. Maybe this is why they don't put on a pick guard? It does look nice though, but mine has the natural finish and I wish I would have bought the red model. The mahogany back looks beautiful and the binding is well done. I inspected this guitar very closely and could find no flaws in the fit or finish. The neck is unfinished and feels really good. Outstanding quality at almost any price point, let alone what these go for.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Unknown, as I've only had it for a few days, but it has a limited lifetime warranty. I don't do gig's, but if I did I wouldn't be afraiad to take this as my only guitar. Throught body bridge, Grover tuners, sold electronics, etc. This guitar feels substantial and looks substantial. I think it will be as relaible as any that are out there.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience.

Overall Rating : 10
I've played guitar on and off for about 25 years. Only recently did I start getting back into the guitar seriously and my playing leaves something to be desired, but I still have a decent ear. I also own a Larrivee L-09 acoustic and the affore mentioned PA. It's hard to complain this guitar at all, because it is such an outstanding deal. I've owned a few good guitars, i.e. PRS Starndard 22, Gibson LP Custom, etc., over the years so I do know what good guitars play, look and sound like. But, my objective when I bought this one was to get the best guitar for the dollar, preferably with a hard tail. I also wanted it to be as versatile as possible so I wouldn't tire of it too quickly. I looked around for awhile and played all the Squires, Mexican made Strats, Epiphone's, Dean's, etc. Quite honestly I was very surprised at how much guitar you can buy for only a few hundred bucks. I really liked the sound of one particular Mexican standard Strat I ran across, but the darned thing wouldn't stay in tune. Then I ran across the Schecter's on the net and read all about them, but couldn't find one in my area. This guitar is almost the exact same design as the Tom Anderson Cobra which is my favorite. I read all the positve reviews and decided to take and chance and I'm glad I did. It's everything the others said it is, but there are a couple of minor things I don't like. As mentioned by another poster, the Pick-up covers have Duncan design stamped/painted on them and it looks cheesy and cheap. And, one thing that hasn't been mentioned which I dont care for is that the bottom of the neck and fret board come above the top of the guitar body and the last fret on the board overhangs the neck. I've seen this on other guitars and it probably doesn't effect the sound or the way the guitar plays, but I would rather have the neck flush with the body of the guitar. At least is has all 22 frets and the fretboard is not part of the neck as is the case with the Mex Strats. These are minor things and overall I'm very happy with this purchase and will definately buy another if something happens to this one. Bottom line is you get quality woods, solid construction, H/B or S/C cabability, gold hardware, it stays in tune with Grover tuners standard, has the awesome looking and comfortable Tele body, great feeling and playing neck, and it doesn't break the bank. I think the guitar could hold it's own with anything out there with the right pick-up's installed. I challange anyone to find more guitar at this price.

Made in Korea (Set up in USA, whatever that means, I set it up, and I was in the USA...) Think of it as a Tele with Les Paul Pickups. Nice combination: Mahogany body, figured maple bound top, transparent blood red ("black cherry") finish, 2 Duncan Design passive humbuckers (coil tapped), gold hardware, Grover tuners, string-thru bridge just like a real Tele, volume, tone, 3-way switch. Maple neck with rosewood fretboard, diamond inlays, big frets. Feels much like a Tele. Nice contour on the body. Fit and finish are really impressive. Every bit as tight as my American Deluxe Tele.

Sound : 9
I bought this guitar because I love the way my tele plays, but I wanted a meatier humbucker sound. Oh I also hate the tune-o-matic bridge, so my options were pretty thin. This guitar is perfect. I play in a rock/variety band, LOTS of variety, and I have to say the Schecter is the superior all-around rock guitar. Just enough sustain...The feedback is there if you need it, but not when you don't... Nice clean, raunchy dirty... It does a fair job of emulating a real tele with the coils tapped (pull the tone knob).
I am skeptical of items which try to do two things. Usually those items suck at least half the time. The PT Elite exceeded my sound expectations.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Like a freakin' glove.

Just got it... I'll let you know if anything falls off. It seems very well made.

What time is it in Korea?

I play through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp, minimal non-digital effects. I would absolutely replace it if it were stolen. I just can't say enough good things about this guitar. It plays great, it sounds great, it looks like it must have cost a fortune. I wouldn't change a thing.

This is a 2000 or 2001 PT-Elite (tele style) in natural (quilt bent top). It is a 22 jumbo fret maple neck (Rosewood board), mahogany body guitar with a book-matched quilt veneer and cream binding on body and neck. It has a gloss finished body and semi-gloss finished neck. It has 2 gold covered Duncan Designed humbuckers (modeled after a 59 and JB) and gold hardware. It has a single 3-way switch, volume control and tone control, with the tone serving as a push-pull for a coil cut on the pickups. It uses a strat style hardtail bridge with a wider spacing than tradional Gibson spacing (F Spacing probably I did not measure it). The Grover tuners are not locking tuners. It is a traditional 25.5" scale guitar.

In general the materials are pretty decent. It is more than you get with a Mexican Fender, but it costs $200 more.

Sound : 5
In this case the guitar was intended as a verion of the Pete Townsend model, which he no longer endorses I beleive (thus the PT). I have used the guitar with a POD, Blues Jr and a couple SS amps. The stock pickups had the 59 and JB vib, but were less articulate, and not as high in output (volume out of the amp) than the real macoy. I like the Duncan Alinco Pro II (about 7 ohms) so one of these went into the neck and a Duncan Custom Custom (about 14 ohms) went into the bridge. Both of these are Alnico II magent pickups (my thing). I love the tone from these pickups in this guitar. They actually match very well for neck and bridge pickups, and the Custom Customs splits well (almost a perfect tele bridge vibe). The inbetween split position tone has the in-between strat vibe, but is not particularly perfect.

This gives a great Jazzy SWEET tone when clean in the neck. This is the warmest clean pickup I know. The 25.5" scale and mahog body give it depth and snap. For my clean smoky blues vbe this this is perfect. It has a sweet rounded tone with little harshness when distorted. The bridge is more twangy when clean but with the Pro II vibe. While the Duncan Perle Gates is also a Alnico II magnet pickup this one give a smooth ZZ Top vibe when driven hard, and a less edgy-chunky tone when in distortion. It is a very good tone to my ears. Usable for most every style music from Jazzy blues and country to over the top distortion. But, if you want harsh and piercing, this is NOT your ticket.

Stock pups get a 5.
New pickups it gets a 9.9

Here is the area I am least statisfied with at the moment. The guitar set up was fine. I play .11's so it had to be readjusted after the change anyway. As it arrived it was OK, not great. The neck to body pocket fit is not especially tight but it is adequate. There are some flaws in the finishing around the binding. Fret work was very nice. Frets are about modern Am. Standard Strat size (not Warmoth Jumbo).

The biggest complaint was that as sent to me (orderd from Musician's Friend) it was pretty scratched up. There were deep scratches in the neck, and a wear mark type of scratchs below the bridge on the body (wearing against the foam packing). I could have sent it back to MF without a hesitation from the company. MF was more than willing to help that way. However as it was the only one in stock anyplace and there was a several week (possibly months) wait for a new order, I was not very interested in doing so. I contacted Schecter to see if I could get a replacement neck as that was the only part I would not be able to really fix entirely without a full neck strip and refinish. Schecter WAS NOT willing to do so, or to work with me at all. They indicated I could send the whole guitar back to MF. They do nothing to help the consumer, that is MF's job, their job is to service MF. OK. I guess I know were I (and they) stand. I must say this is the only company I have ever contacted that was this hardline with this attitude (I have contacted Fender, Epiphone, Samick and Gibson in the past), but I would guess there are other companies with this attitude. Their loss as I will not likely buy Schecter again (and I like the look of the C Plus).

In my case, as I do some guitar building and refinishing, I took some buffing compound to the body and neck. I was able to get 100% out of the body but the neck was too deep to remove the scratches entirely. I was able, with some work, to get it smoothed enough so the scratches were not distracting when playing. I must say it now has a gloss neck rather than semi-gloss finish now though (I like that better anyway).

As a side note, a standard Fender style neck will bolt right on (Can you say Warmoth?).

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar seems well constructed. So far I see no more difficulty with it than I would with any other tele style guitar. With the pickup change it is an excellent player's guitar.

The stock strap button were large and seem to hold a strap well. However, I use straplocks so I replaced the stock strap buttons with gold straplocks (Schaller) and a custom dyed cotton tan strap, which was origionally white, from Fender. Matches and feel great. If you wish to install strap lock be perpared to have to use a glue in peg for the holes for the stock strap buttons. Schecter uses a huge screw int eh strap button, and it has to be filled for the standard straplock screw to work. It is easly done though.

I don't gig out but would see it appears as reliable as any bolt neck guitar. So long as you do not need factory support.

Customer Support : 1
I have had contact with Schecter directly, as I indicated above. They were very straight forward. they told me to deal with the dealer. Period. The warranty was up the the dealer, and that was a send it all back and we will try again (not parts please) process. So if you have the willingness to do that it would go well for you.

Overall Rating : 5
I have played over 20 years on and off. The last 5 electric. In that time I have owned Fenders, Gibsons, Epiphones, Carvins, and many other brands. I am less brand loyal than others I would guess, and simply want a guitar that is worth what I pay (name not withstanding). If you are willing to risk the poor factory customer support this can be a great quilt top dual bucker tele style guitar. Be sure to use a decent dealer or you would really be screwed if you had to rely on the company itself (MF was fine, just not how I was willing to go this time). If you want a tele style guitar (fat or standard pickups) with a solid or sunbust the Standard or American Standard seem to be the better deal and have beetter support by far. If you want a quilt top this is a pretty good deal for the money (if you are OK doing a little home repair). This time I was looking for the quilt top, and with a fair amount of work I have what I wanted from this unit. I am not sure I would do it again knowing what I now do about customer support.
