Absolutely Beautiful! I have the Cherry Red Quilted top and I love it. I bought if from GC and had fallen in love with the look in the MF catalog. The only thing is that the quilt is nice but not as defined in the striping as that fabulous pics in MF.
I play Modern Alt Rock/Metal and play a half step down drop Csharp with 12's and this guitar gets DOWN!! I play it thru a Genz Benz El Diablo 100 with a modified tube combination thru a 4/12 with V30's. This is a great Modern Rock set up.
The guitar is light but after getting used to it you will see it is as chunky and anything out there.
I changed the bridge pickup to a Dimarzio Drop Sonic and it will chunk you out of a room.

Like I said after puting in a Dsonic in the bridge this guitar plays and sounds beautifully. Very Chunky very modern and very versitle.

I always have to have this thing re setup. Reason is I am very anal and I with the Tune O matic there is a chance when changing strings the bridge will get a little out of wack. (thats a technical term by the way).
I have found that the guitar does not play as fast as my strats or ibanez guitars because of the thicker LP style neck. It is probably just the size of my hands. Just a great guitar.

I have one experience with Schecter and it was good. I called to simply talk to someone about my style and what i was looking for and I had a guy there say you want this, this, this, and this. It was great. He said for the tone I wanted the Tempest or the S-1 was my guitar.

Tremendous guitar! A couple words about the body however. It is pretty light. I'd almost rather it was a couple pounds heavier to give it a more solid feel. (If I played standing up more I would prefer the lighter weight so I reckon it depends on your playing position.) The modified SG body shape is great looking but when you sit down it has a tendency to make you pick right over the neck PU. No biggie really. I love the slim-ness of the body. Some have mentioned it is headstock heavy...I don't find that.
I now own a C1 and S1 so life is good! Schecter makes really nice guitars for the money. After you upgrade the pickups you've got a real keeper!

Bought this guitar about a year ago and let me say these picture dont di it justice. This fit and finish is great, the inlays are flawless, the electronics are great. String action is low, no buzzing frets.
I bought mine for about 600 bucks but I would put it in the 1500 dollar price range when you consider the quality of this instrument.

I DID have a problem with the 1/4in jack after about 6 moths. The nut fell off and left a brass washer in the electronics cavity that shorted out the wires a few times and muffled my sound. A 10 minute fix with a pair of pliars and a drop of glue on the nut solved that problem.

It's an S-1 Elite in Black Cherry. Check the specs on Schecter's website.

The sound is what its all about. I had a Mexi-Strat that I've been playing for a couple of years. I've also had Fenders in the past. I thought they sounded sweet until I started "really" listening to some BB King and Howlin Wolf. That fat humbucker sound was just not available on a single coil strat. I bought this S-1 Elite after trying out some high end strats, Epiphones (SG, Les Paul), and some Ibanez models. I have to say this Schecter knocked me over good !!!
The tones are sweet, bright and fat. It fits my blues, classic rock, and alternative playingto a tee.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
10
Nearly perfect. I lowered the action just a bit for my own preference (arthritis is a players doom). Pickups sound great to me. But then I've never had a really expensive Duncan or DiMarzio setup like some of the other reviewers. Fit and finish are exquisite. The Black Cherry finish is luscious to look at. The pearl / abalone inlays are also matched and quite stunning.
Only one minor flaw was with the nut where the cable plugs into. It was loose, and gets loose from time to time. Not a problem.

I'm alive and I still manage to play daily. Oh, you meant 'live' as in on stage.... I'm sure it would hold up fine if one was careful with ones axe. I treat my gear with TLC. Someone who beats on their gear probably should get something this visually pleasing.
I don't ply in a band or on stage. I'm just a play at home or jam with friends sort of player.

I've been playing on and off for maybe 10 years. I'm still learning. I own an Ibanez Artcore AFS75 in black (old style semi hollow electric ). I also own an Ibanez Classical with pickups and a cutaway (not great but not bad either). I just replaced my little Fender amp with a Vox DA15. Nice....much improved sound and tone quality.

The quilt top looks bueatiful, the body is nice and light, the pickups are Seymore Duncan and the pickups sound good. The tuners are Grover and stay in tune! The neck feels good and easy, and it appears to have quality wood. What else can I say its a great made guitar. I think God would want us to have this Schecter S-1 Elite.

To me the guitar sounds incredable. I just love it. I don't really have it yet but the first day I played it was the first day I couldn't keep my mind off it. I couldn't even sleep until I bought the guitar! The sound is so good that even my Father and his friend said that it played and sounded better then a $2500 Les Paul Authentic that was at the same store. My Father judges a guitar by playing it unplugged. This guitar was very resonant and rang loud. The Les paul Authentic is supposed to be a better guitar. In my opinion, the S-1 Elite looked and sounded better then the Les Paul Authentic.

I gave this a five because I don't really have the S-1 yet and I won't see any problems with it but I heard that the support is lousy. I would of thought that the support would be good because its a small company and it hasn't hit big yet. But maybe I am wrong?

I know that for a fact that the Shecter S-1 is a great guitar because #1, it sounded better then a $2500 Les Paul Authentic, #2, I played alot of quality guitar gear like, the Matchless clubman 35 (Sampson era), Fender Vibro-King, Two Rock Opal, Budda Superdrive 45, Zinky Blue velvet, Marshall JCM 800-PKXI, Vintage Tweed Fenders, Fender Woody, Mesa Boogie Mark 1 and IV, and the guitars are PRS Artist 3, Eric Johnson SIG Strat, Grosh Retro Classic, Les Paul 57 Historic gold top, Yngwie Malmsteen SIG strat, and a Moortone. #3 Also because it feels good, sounds good, and looks good. I'm only 11 years old and I know a good guitar when I play one and this is definitely one of them.

I bought it brand new November 2005 for 573$. Don't know when it was produced exactly. 22 frets, two "seymoure designed" hummbuckers with 3way-coiltap (awsome) so all together it gives a 5 position range from telecaster sound to that fat SG sound. The body and neck are both mahagony and the fretboard is Rosewood (dark).Beautifull black cherry color with black burns towards the edges. The thing i adore about this guitar are incredible looking Abalone (sedef looking) bindings on every single edge of guitar body and head. Oh yeah! The head is something special, it has two stylish horns that give something special to the all guitar look, evilish a bit! Looks like something in between Gibsin SG and classic PRS. But more beautifull than both of mentioned. The hardware is black, I woulden't like it any other way. The bridge has a locking system witch is also a great plus. Grover tuners are definetly good and reliable. The neck is 22 fret jumbo, preety much like Les paul..but better in a way.
Sound
:
9
As i mentioned above the first thing about it is a Three way Coil-tap.
With that feature you can get the sound from telecaster to that fat Gibson SG sound. I'm playing it on Marshall AVT100 Combo and tried it on few different amps (H&K, Fender DeVille, Crate..) and it sounds great on every single one of them. The pickups though (seymoure designed) could be a bit better, heavyer. I am having doubts about changing them with some DiMarzzio. If the guitar would come with any better pickups it would cost somewhere around 1200$.

I don't believe that I will ever be in need of buying a new guitar.
A friend of mine that plays a Ibanez JS1000 (Joe Satriany signature - 2100$) is astonished with S-1 Elite! He says that he can not believe that such a guitar exists in that price level.

When I was going to purchase the guitar I never dreamed of such a beutifull qualitymade one. I was going for the Ibanez GAX to be frankly, and accidentaly went into other shop before just to check it out, and there it was, so i gave a bit more money than I planned, and it is worth every single cent. and more! I discovered later that the guitar costs much more than I payed it, so I believe that the seller dident know what he has in shop and under-priced it.
This guitar is one great looking, high quality guitar. I felt in love in it and thinking of marrying "her" too.

Great features for the price. I like the tuners, the bridge, The cross inlays, the binding. It would have been nice to have real duncans pickups even if they sounds quite similar. The coil tap is a + but its too noisy to be used with distortion.
Sound
:

I'm no crazy about the pickup sound. I use to have a real duncan JB on one of my axes and it's sounds the same. Too bassy and undefined for my taste. For the rest, the guitar is perfect. I like to feel the guitar when I play and this guitar feels powerfull. Since the tone of a guitar is a least 50% pickup, I'm gonna change the duncans and I'll be more than happy with the sound.

Before I bought this guitar, I tried fender, ESP, Ibanez, Gibson and PRS. I don't understand why people are still paying 1000$ for a fender or 2000 for a gibson. We're in 2006, I don't think it makes any difference if you buy a guitar made in korea or usa. Both factories uses the same machines and techniques (Except for custom guitars). It's well made, cheap, and the neck is so strait and confortable... I can't stop playing. I also liked the ESPs witch are in the same price range. Anyway, The only thing I don't like about this schecter is that the headstock is a bit too heavy for my taste. It's like if the neck was too heavy for the body. No big deal, I'll get used to it.

I think this was a 2003. I got it used off of ebay. It has 22 frets witha 3-way coiltap...cool! H/H with Duncan Design pickups. It has a really nice quilted black cherry finish with abalone inlays. It has the SG body profile but meaner looking. It has the tone pro bridge with some solid grover tuners. I would characterize the neck as skinnier than a Gibson Les Paul, still painted, but definitely thicker than my ibanez wizard neck (that one is like a broomstick, I love it). No accessories included. The coil tap is a huge feature especially at this price

I bought this around 2002 from Musicians Friend. After seeing the Black Cherry color, that was the color I wanted. When I placed the order, they were going for $599. He said they were closing out the Amber color and were selling them for $430, a $170 savings. UUh,OK, I'll take it!! I was floored when I opened the box, the Amber blew the B.C. color totally, let me repeat, TOTALLY out of the water!! The inlays and the binding, WOW, this thing is worth $1000 on looks alone. Check out MF to see all the features.

I play mostly classic rock, Bad Co.,Montrose,Whitesnake,Beatles, Sammy Hagar. My amps are 1962 reissue Marshall Bluesbreaker, Vox Buckingham, Epiphone Galaxie 10, and a Marshall JTM30. This axe kicks butt on any of them. The sound is very full. It can do the sounds of the bands above. There is absolutely nothing I dislike about this guitar.

Not that it needed it, but the first thing I did was take it in to have it set up, it's just something I do on something new. When I went to pick it up, my tech said he had good news and some bad news. The good news is this is one beautiful piece, the bad news is, I don't want to give it back! He was using it in his church band!! My guitar tech used to work as a setup man for Gibson when they were built here in Kalamazoo. This thing came back playing like butter, the neck just melts in your hands. One of the knobs splits the bridge pickup to a single coil, it's okay, just cuts the volume down. Dosen't sound like a Fender at all because of the split, so I don't use it. The quality of this Schecter is top of the line. Again, I can't beleive they don't sell these for more. I saw no flaws at all when I first got it. It's been set up one time, almost three years ago, it stays in tune and does not break strings.I go around jamming with friends, it seems that when there is someone new there, this guitar draw them to it like flies on shit. When they pick it up, they just smile. The action feels that good. Plays like a dream....

First of all, I have a Gibson LP Elegant, I paid $2100 used. I play the Schecter a lot more. I have a DigiTech RP100, we went on a weeks vacation and I took these and a set of headphones and jammed every day, without bothering anybody. In the three years I've had this, it has had the shit played out of it and still looks great. This has the gold hardware and is holding up good. The finish, still shines, but who cares about the finish now a days. You pay more money for one that has been made to look like it has been beat to shit. I use strap locks, the best $20 I have spent on all of my guitars!

I've been playing, or I should say I have known how to play guitar for 38 years. I got back into it in 1997 and got G.A.S. in 2000. Then I really got into playing. Fortunatly, the G.A.S. has gone away, after the purchase of the Marshall Bluesbreaker. With that, the LP and this Schecter, I'm about ready to sell everything else. This is all I need!! As far as Schecter goes? I think it's an upcomming company. The quality they show in their products has been lost in other companys. If you buy one, you might just end up with another. People who buy crap for their first guitar more than likly will quit playing. This is a guitar that will make a beginner play forever. Oh Oh, I think I feel some G.A.S. coming on, they do have a sweet electric/acoustic!!!!

This guitar is awsome. It feels great and plays even better. One problem is it's balance when playing sitting down. But this is definatly a stage guitar. It's got a 22 fret neck with beautiful cross inlays. Got kind of an arched top almost and dual humbuckers. Duncan Designed pickups are great and tone is awsome though i look to switch with EMG 81/60 in the future. Tone pros bridge holds it tuning and gives amazing sustain. Grover tuners and black chrome top it all off and give it a beautiful look. Push/Pull tone knob give amazing tonal range and possibilities.

The pickups definately give a screaming humbucker sound but they could be a little bit stronger to match the guitars strength in tone and sustain. String thru body, set neck, and tone pros bridge make sustain last forever and give the tone a definate boost over other guitars out there.

This is a 2003 model, black Cherry finish, arched top. It has all the important features in a guitar that I care about; String thru body, Set Neck, Tone Pro bridge, grover tuners and decent pickups. I wish it had a 24 fret neck, but if it did the balance would be off. The Duncan Designed pickups are OK, I may change them out later. The rest of the specs are available on-line. I got mine with a hard shell case from eBay!

This guitar has a six sound capability and in combination with a good pedal board gives me a wide variety of tones. I play 50's to 70's classic rock and country, and the guitar surpasses the tone capabilities I need. It will go from Rich smooth sounding to Chuck Berry style rock with a flip of the switch. I like having two volume controls to mix the Neck and Bridge pickup tones, and the push-pull pot to single coils really adds versatility. One tone control is all you need anyway, because we all crank it to 10 and leave it there!

First you have to know that I absolutely LUSTED after this guitar after the first time I saw it. I have a PRS as my main guitar, and I had a Kramer Nightrider (Nice too), but I had to have this Schecter. I waited over a year before I finally bought it and the wait was worth it. The finish is fantastic and the abalone binding is as good as I have seen on guitars costing 2-3 times as much. Its better than what is on my PRS. The guitar was set up fine, but its never good enough for me anyway. I changed over from 010 strings to 009's and may drop it to 008's so I had to completely redo the factory settings. It isn't right until I do it anyway! All the hardware is much higher quality than you would expect on a guitar like this, I was really impressed.

I have owned many guitars over the years including 2 Gibson's Les Paul's, a Dillion Telecaster, 2 Univox, a Kramer nightrider, and a PRS CE-24, and I have played 100's of others. This guitar will last, I have no doubt about it. It is very well put together, and I have not found any flaws in the finish, settings, hardware or electronics. I would use it for my main guitar anytime, in fact this is the guitar I practice on at home, and the PRS sits in the case. I do pull it up for the 50's rock songs and some slow country tunes we do while gigging, plus it gives me a secondary set of tones to use.

My main amp is a B-52 LG-100A on top of a 1980's vintage Peavey 4x12 cabinet, my practice setup is a Peavey transtube 100 supreme with a Crate 4x12 (Not a Gigging cabinet). I also use a Peavey Renown and a Peavey Bandit (Catch the simulairity here?) The Schecter sounds great in all these amps, and kicks butt through the B-52 LG-100A. I love the weight of the guitar and the fret spacing, but the neck is SMALL width wise. Someone with big hands wouls not like the way this guitar plays. Fortunately I have small hands, and this is the guitar I switch to when my 48 year old fingers start to ache! It is a breeze to play and easy on the hands.

I got this newer model in Dark Vintage Sunburst, couldn't find it anywhere and so had to order it from the factory through my local Guitar Center. It has 22 frets, which is kind of hard to deal with after playing my 24-fret Iby RG530 for about 8 years, so for solos with difficult highs, I go back to the Ibanez.
The finish is gorgeous! A glossy aged-looking natural wood color sunburst with abalone trim around the body and up the rosewood fretboard, which has cross inlays. I had only seen the Dark Cherry finish at the store, but still loved how it looked. I got the DVS finish because it has polished silver hardware (passive humbuckers, pegs, bridge) which make it look very stylish without being gaudy, unlike the Antique Amber finish with polished GOLD hardware, blech! AND my Iby is dark red too.. can't have 2 red axes!!
The body and neck are made of mahogany, and it's VERY light. It's actually TOO light. The body can't balance against the weight of the head-stock and if you don't hold the neck, it will always tilt downward. I didn't realize this when I was playing sitting down at GC and only found out when I strapped up at home. !!DAMN!! I'm going to try to rig up some sort of counter-weight to put on the strap to help balance it up. That's my biggest peeve with the guitar. If not for that, I would score it a 10 in this category.
The complement of controls (3-way pickup select, 2 pickup pots, 1 tone pot which pulls out for some sort of high-presence select) are plenty for me. Too many gadgets on the instrument is just that, I like it simple.
I also got this guitar because of the simple bridge with string-thru body (sans vibro). I hated that I couldn't easily tune to another key because of the Floyd Rose on my Iby.
Sound
:
9
It has a very clean sound. I play through my GT-6 to Fender 4x10 DeVille. A little lighter, cleaner sound than my Iby with active EMGs.. it has a bolder sound.
But because I use a GT-6, I can get any sound I want and it doesn't really matter how the guitar sounds.. well, that's not entirely true. It does have a very pleasant sound without being too twangy up high or too boomy down low.

This guitar is now my main stage axe only because I play a lot of out-of-E tunings and I need something that allows me to change that. It seems like it will be reliable after having gotten it only 3 weeks ago.
BUT HERE'S WHAT WORRIES ME!!! When I am changing tunings (usually between Eb and Db), I do notice some flexure in the neck which makes tuning a little more tedious. I don't know if because the neck is bound to the body there is no support rod or what, but I hope it's strong enough to last without failing. God forbid I blow a low string that's holding a lot of tension in the neck/body joint and the suddent energy release splits that joint!!
Let's hope it holds, and I'll write an update here if it doesn't.

I've been playing treble guitar for about 11 years now, and the only other electric I've owned was my Ibanez. The Schecter was a good selection. I love how it looks, it plays and sounds very nice, but it's not perfect.
My only issues are with the balance and the neck flexure. But it's a good guitar for the price. If I could have afforded it, I would have gotten a PRS.

I will not go in dept, check out the details on the Offical Schecter site. Mine is the BLACK CHERRY version. Body, neck and Head fully bound with abalone and cream. Just look at the pic BEAUTIFUL. Splitable humbuckers is a KICK ASS FEATURE.22 fret 25-1/2 scale. I sold my LTD Deluxe EC-1000 for this and am very glad I did. All gear is TOP NOTCH.

KICK ASS !!!!! I have been at this for over 15 years and love this guitar. I have had LesPaul Customs, US Strats, ESP's, LTD's and the list goes on. I have one guitar that I like more (not a whole lot more) that the S-1 Elite ....... and that is my SCHECTER C-1 CLASSIC. Now that guitar is an ALL-IN-WOUNDER. Anyway, oh yes, sound ..... the Duncan design are replicating a Duncan JB and Jazz. Lucky for me, that is what my C-1 has so I could do a DIRECT COMPARISON. Now of course due to the smaller scale, body thickness and shape and some other components, their will be some differeces but for the most part the sound is VERY VERY VERY CLOSE. Plus having the capability to split my humbuckers turnes the 3 way switch into a 6 way switch. Plus you can play with the seperate volume controls for more tone control. THis guitar has slightly tighter bass and brighter treble than most. The only reason I gave a 9 rather than 10 is because I am not sure how it would sound with GENUINE SD's in it, and I will not sermise. I run this threw a Boss GT-6 and into 2 active speakers and it KICKS ALL AROUND. Fantastic guitar. Imagine a LesPaul and a SG had sex and spit out of guitar ... The S-1 is it. Plus the flexability to Coil-Split. And this this is LIGHT and comfortable. You can get beautiful thick humbucker clean tone and 90% close to classic single coil twank. But crank the juice and it growls like a Lion.

This guitar (like my other Schecter) came out of the box Bang on. No fret buzz, not issues at all. I did a TINY intonation adjustment just because I am a picky bastard.
As for fit, this guitar, well as Ace Venturea would say "LIKE A GLOVE". Very comfortable sitting and standing.. The finish is superb. And I am still blown away the price of these guitars. Schecter has been at this game a long long time and know what the are doing for sure. I am glad I got my C-1 Classic and S-1 Elite now, because it will not shock me AT ALL when the price goes WAY UP !!
My "ONLY GRIPE" is this. The buttons as nice as they are to look at, do make it a bit tuff at times to pull out for the COIL-SPLIT. Keep in mind this is a VERY minute and almost not even worth mentioning gripe. But I thought I would. Here is the fix, since the tuners and Tone-Pros are all the Cool Dark Chrome, I just bought 3 buttons of the same style and color, and put em' on. Now instead of the Plastic transparent buttons, I have the Oxidised Dark Chrome buttons with a better gripping service and now the PUSH/PULL is a non-issue.

I don't like this category much because it depends so much on the individual. I treat ALL my gear like gold. So this guitar will look the same in 30 years. From what I can see and if it is like my C-1 which I have had for over a year....... it is ROCK SOLID.
But I will still leave a "No Opinion"

This is where I get pissed. I read that SO MANY folks have issues with customer support. I have had no problems AT ALL with them. Now keep in mind, I have also had ZERO issues with my Schecters. But anytime I emailed them with a question, I got a response back within 48 hours. And much more than a ONE LINE EMAIL I would like to add.
If the guitar DID have issues, my local music store (STEVE'S MUSIC IN OTTAWA -- Ask for John, tell him i sent ya) will be the ones dealing with it. Maybe all this ONLINE buyer buzz and then the Customer is on his/her own is the issue.
But for me, I'll give High Score for what I have EXPERINCED.

I have been playing for over 15 years. I have had LP's, Strats, Peaveys, ESP's, LTD's, Jacksons,Godins and the list goes on. About a year ago I FINALLY found the guitar that gave me "ALL I WANTED", my Schecter C-1 Classic. Seeing as how much I loved it, I read and researched and now have the S-1 Elite and it is also WAY UP on my list. So I have my C-1, S-1 for electrics, a yamaha Acoustic Electric. I run throught a Boss GT-6 into two Peavey Actives (FANTASTIC SOUND).
What do you love about it?
I love Schecters for their reliablity, beauty, sound and flexablitiy.
What do you hate?
Nothing, Schecters are my main guitars. (Only Actually)
What is your favorite feature?
These guitars come LOADED-Up. If I could ask for one other thing, maybe locking tuners. But trust me, the grovers are great.
If it were stolen or lost, would you buy it again or get something else?
If either my C-1 or S-1 were stollen, I would get another in a heart beat. Even if they raised the prices, I would STILL replace them.
BROVO SCHECTER, Job well Done!!!!

Plenty here for the price! I've had mine two months, now and although it is my backup guitar, it is a pleasure to play. Feather light and very comfy. Frankly this guitar's looks sold me, but I am not the least disappointed by the sound. I only wish they made a tremelo version also.
I'm still not quite used to the jumbo frets and the narrow nut width (9/16) but I'm getting there. Neck is fast and chords like a dream. The woods and finish are flawless. I'm used to a 3-way switch and so far this one is pretty quiet when you change it.

I was surprised by the Duncans, which I intended to swap out even before I bought it. I still went to EMG's (81&85) but this is strictly a personal preference, the stock pick ups were surprisingly toneful and harmonic. Maybe a tad thin on the treble end, but the EMG's fixed that.
Want sustain? Tone Pros bridge, string-thru setup, and set neck give this beauty mega-sustain. Go ahead, have a sandwich, the cord you just hit will still be pristine after you're done eating.
I think you could play about anything in any style with this instrument. I've put a lot of effects through it and it handles them all quite well. Plenty of punch and cruch when you need it and the acoustic patches sound clear and warm. Hanldes everything across the spectrum.

This is a gorgeous piece of work throughout. I like the gold on this killer looking instrument, but you can get a platinum finish as well. The quilted top is as nice as I've seen. Mine is a red/amber which I love, but the cherry ones I've seen are beauties too. I had my tech go through it and he didn't have to change much. Factory setup was great. I preferred different strings, but the ones on it were fine. Finish was perfect from joints, frets, tuners, neck, and

I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewer - I can't believe a guitar this nice costs $600. It is absolutely beautiful! Quilted maple top, abalone binding, jumbo frets - just class, class, and more class! Black cherry finish - stunning!
I rate it a 9 only because it's a hardtail - I am addicted to whammy bars.

I play anything that has a melody - no particular style. I like to rock, boogie, sing ballads, play da blues - a little jazz -based stuff, 50's...anything! This guitar has great sounds - I just got it 2 days ago and have played it only through my Fender Cyber Deluxe (which is another astonishing piece). I, unlike the previous person, was able to get a real nice single coil Fender sound, and of course, with the coil tap, can get a deep growly sound also. It's not noisy - great sound! To tell the truth I bought this guitar for its looks (I'm a collector)and thought it would give up sound for appearance (with a low price something had to be sacrificed I thought). "Duncan Design" pickups kind of said to me "it's not the real thing" ...BUT IT IS!! It sounds as good as my Duncan Pearly Gates and '59's I have in a Fat Strat.

The setup takes place here in the US after arriving from South Korea. It's the best, far and away, setup I've ever received off the rack. Bar none! Action is low, feels slick and the frets are smooth. The pickups were low but I simply raised them up - particularly the rhythm pickup.
Just superb quality all the way - you've got to see these guitars - they're beautiful. Ok so I sound like a kid with a new toy - fact is ...I am! Actually I'm in my 50's and have 23 other guitars in my collection (not big by some standards but enough to know a really good guitar when I see and play one).

It seems to be built very well. Tuners are Grovers which helps immensely. I've had it two days so can't pronounce on long-term durability. If I were a betting man, which I am, I'd bet on it being a warhorse. It has no pickguard so that could mean trouble for hard picking types. But - it looks great without it! Strap buttons are oversized so you have less chance of calamity. I never do a show without another guitar - primarily for string breakage and because I have alot of them to use.

Don't know a thing about Schecter's customer support. I avoid that aspect as much as I can. Like anything else - it really depends on the person you get on the other end. Some know what they're doing and some just fell off the turnip truck. Of course company policy plays a big role in what they're willing to do for you - but I don't know about this company at all.

Playing 30 years. I would get another one in a heartbeat.
I like everything about this guitar. No dislikes. Its looks are what is just incredible to me though - and value for the money is better than anything I've ever found (maybe there are things I don't know - like it really has a balsa wood body and was made by tenth grade wood shop students)
I have 8 stratocasters from different eras, 3 Teles, a PRS, two Gibsons (ES-335 and Nighthawk, sold my Les Pauls), a Guild X-160, Danelectro Convertible, Rickenbacker 330-12, 2 Takamine acoustics, and a Jay Turcer flag. This is right up there with any of them.
I wish it had a temolo bar, and it came in a cardboard box (no case, no gigbag). This is really something - case or no case! Do yourself a favor and get one if you are looking.

You can get the feastures form their site...
Has three controls, though... two volume, 1 tone... I must add that it is a tap type of pot... which gives you the chance to switch from a humbucker to a single coil... Does it sound like a Fender type of single coil? No, but, should it?
The finish is awesome... it gets dented easily, though. The inlays, binding and stuff are out of this world. I cannot believe it is a $600 bucks guitar!!!
The body... just like a woman... it has a nice "ass" ha ha ha.
Really, the shape is awesome... the only detail I do not like is that the horns are not crafted the same way.
Perfect weight and balance.
Frets are jumbo but easy to play.
Turners are okay... they feel a little hard sometimes, but it does not get out of tune.
The nut is graphite... oh yes... this adds sustain and prevents it from getitng out of tune.
The colors are awesome!

Here is where it really shines.
To me, it sounds just like a $1200 Gibson SG Standard... that is why I bought it.
Has two Duncan Designed humbuckers.
Harmonics are perfect. Each strings sounds with high definition, even if playing with distortion.
Picks have lots of output, but still, you can play blues and stuff if you like to play with the knobs.
It is the sound I was looking for... that simple.

Action may be a little hard at first... but once oyu get used to it, it turns very easy.
Bending notes is effortless.
The bridge is locked... which adds sustain.
controls are well placed.

Not too sure... it seems to me that it would have the same reliability of a SG. Strap buttons are perfect...
I would play this guitar without backup... but with an extra set of strings.
