the other guys cover this, mine is the USA sunset classic with rosewood neck, black headstock and vintage burst stain showing the grain (same as in the 2003 schecter catalogue and on website)
The pickups are schecters own (same as tom andersons) and has the coild tap. can't think of anything more I would want from a guitar though schecter only offer these as custom orders now so will add anything

massive sound, this guitar is a more alive than my PRS CE24 and CE22 hardtails (which are way better than the trem models) and has a huge low end bite. I use VHT,Mesa,Marshall and play every style of music and with the coil tapping this comes really close to a strat sound. As I play lots of funk I was suprised at how good this was and I like it more than the strat as it takes out a little bit of the quack

I get my guitars setup by www.a&prichardsonguitars.com This guy has setup 2 of my old les pauls which would not stop in tune and they are now perfect. To be fair the schecter came in pretty good but needed a neck adjustment (which I do on most guitars even the PRS I have needed it) I clean and feed the neck (lemon oil) the intonation was fine and I use 10's. the finish is the same as my PRS guitars so no problems there

Reliability/Durability : 9
I gig alot and aside from the knocks I've put in it, it is fine. I would expect no more and no less

always get a catalogue when needed and I have a friend who has ordered 2 custom built guitars and loves them but I will refrain from comment as i dont deal with them enough

This is the main thing. In the UK you can get one of these new from sound control for #1300-1400. Try getting a PRS CE for that price. You can also specify any extras ie neck radius which you dont get an option with PRS. So as far as I can see this is a major deal, however I do like bolt on maple neck guitars better than thru neck and you can get a les paul for about the same price.
So this is a horses for courses thing, though if you are looking at a PRS CE check one of these out i'm sure sound control will do a deal and you get an amazing custom shop guitar over a standard PRS

I belive the guitar was made in 2000. I know for sure that it was made in LA, it has all the markings of their custom shop. The body is a beautiful piece of Swamp Ash, with excellent grain. It has 2 Volume controls and a single tone control which also actsas a split coil switch. It came with what was descibed as Hand Wound from schecter, I dont know if this true or not but the 2 humbuckers put out some serious tone. All electronics are passive but vey sensitive. The neck is Rock Maple with a maple fingerboard. The only finish on this guitar is a hand rubbed oil finish. The body could be called a strat style in that it has 2 cutaways, but this body is carved down, very comfortable. The bridge is a tune-0-matic with the strings going through the body. The scale is 24 3/4 not sure about the radius. i prefer a little wider neck but its very fast so its ok. Not sure about the tuners, these are something custom, with Ivory pegs, very classy. Got all the included stuff.

I play anything I can get my hands on and I wanted a versetile guitar. This thing is great, the swamp ash is super rich. By playing with the tone and volume you can get a wide range of tones, not to mention the split coil. The maple neck is a new thing for me and I have to say io like it. Its a bright clean guitar that screams when put through a Higain amp.

I dont know, IU got the guitar from a collector who bought these things with the intention to sell so he set them all up, I had the local shoip set it up for some 11 Elixers and it plays great. i am getting a tniy bit of buzz, might have to have the neck back down a bit. The frets appear to be well down and the intonation is dead on. The neck pocket is as tight as anything I ever seen and everything is simple and super clean!

Reliability/Durability : 9
It seems really sollid, cant imagine having any problems with this guitar. Never had a oiled finsh so dont know how long this kinda thing lasts. But it seems great very forgiving. I will do a couple practice sessions first with it before I trusted it without back up, but I am already anticipating no problems.

Guitar is as new, no need to call them.

I have been playing for about 20 years and this is my first really nice custom guitar. I have owned Les Pauls, Strats, Ibanez. I play through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. If it were stolen I would be pissed, but I would probably get enother one, I like the quality and the price was great, blows a standard strat out of the water.

Made in 1998 in Los Angeles, carved swamp ash top with rock maple neck, 24 frets, 24 3/4 neck, 12 inch radius, rosewood fingerboard, sperzel tuners, tun-o-matic bridge, string through body, hum single hum pickup configuration, each with a coil tapped output. One tone control for all three pickups. Passive electronics, but HOT. Came with a hardshell case. Combination of twin humbuckers and single coil, plus coil tapping makes many tone cominations possible.

I play Surf, Spy, and Sci-Fi clean through a class A tube amp with a lot of reverb and a shimmering tremelo pedal. I also have a Godin LGXT. I got this guitar because I was looking for something that was at the opposite end of the guitar spectrum from the LGXT. This guitar is a curious hybrid of modern, progressive sounds and traditional, stratlike, bell-like sounds. But its more complex than that--its like a fusion of the Strat and SG sounds--The wood of a Strat, but the fixed bridge and humbuckers of an SG. On top of that, the coil taps add tremendous punch and boost the midrange capabilities and sustain. I threw a heavier set of strings on it D'Addario 11-50's which really improved the tone over the lightweight strings it shipped with. Very clean and musical, overdrives without harshness. Sweet!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Extremely fine crafstmanship, however, the guitar did not ship with neck adjustment wrench(Russ at The Classic Axe was kind enough to toss one in)and, the tun-o-matic bridge had to be adjusted to improve intonation.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Oil based finish I have no experience with. I looks very solid and well made, however.

No exposure. No users manual was included, however, so I am going to have to get in touch.

I've been playig guitar for 37 years--over the years I have played a wide variety of acoustic and electric guitars, synthesizers, pianos, and banjos. I could have chosen any guitar--but I chose this Schecter for its combination of craftsmanship, the hybrid character of its tone, and the availability of the coil taps--it is a perfect counterpart to my LGXT, which is also a hybrid, as well
